『I've lost something I never really had, yet it hurts just as bad.』

An old lady stands outside the door to the spare room. She stands there still facing it as she closes it gently. Once the door clicks shut she still stays stiff, slowly removing her hand from the handle and slumping slightly.

A small worried noise leaves her lips when she shakes her head. She turns around continuing trying to make as much sense of the situation as possible, given the patchy information and the lack of response from her patient. She's not getting too far.

Nothing is ever new to the short older lady. Nothing surprises her, nothing throws her off rhythm. She's seen it all.

This boy. This small fragile boy has changed that. It's been less then an hour and he's completely thrown everything out the window.

Now It's all new to the old lady, saying that the nurse almost laughs. How typical this is of her colleague. The one who would never bother her unless absolutely necessary. The one who stays quiet and acts like a loner when actually he'd help anyone who asked. The one and only man who called her out here late after her normal shift hours were over.

The man who was able to without hesitation medically confuse the doctor who had way over 50 years of experience. This is so bazaar it almost draws another laugh.

Across from her said colleague, Aizawa or pro hero eraserhead, stands quietly waiting on her wisdom. He stays in the shadow of the hall way looking way to dramatic for any real life situation. His face holds traces of past emotions he tries to ignore and hide. She spots the expression lingering on his face immediately, and this only makes her observations harder to word.

Something was wrong with this deku boy and she had no clue how to express it.

It's true that even though sweetening or sugar coating bad news was never something she agreed with or did as a doctor, as she felt it was deceitful and illogical. That it would only cause more pain than getting whatever it was all said and done. It was clearly less destructive to the person on the receiving end to her news if she just told them out right.

This situation was testing her very pillars of being. All her years of working were crumbling down because of a boy laying in a bed with no heart beat yet clearly still alive.

Pulling her thoughts together and making a quick plan of action in her head she finally makes eye contact, her lips stay in a thin pressed line. Not bothering to acknowledge her own confusion and distress anymore. Instead using every and any information she has to form a structure she can speak with.

After a few moments of silence she sighs in frustration rubbing her tired eyes that held bags under them. Slightly mimicking the younger heroes own. Aizawa stays quiet and patient. Waiting for what he knows to be the most reliable source of information to him about the boy.

"I just don't know what to say shota dear, that boy... he's so weak he might as well be dead." She refrains from telling him that technically he is in fact dead. She feels that would be irrelevant in this situation as well as more stress he doesn't need. Hell the boy himself may not realise he's dead!

"My healing had no effect on him, I've never seen that happen before. There's a first time for everything apparently." She looks to her walking stick tapping it lightly onto the floor.

"I've never had someone reject my quirk like this. I want to be able to save people and because of my quirk I've gone soft to the more harsh reality of sick people... sick children, Eraser, I'm sure you share my distress maybe more so, this boy is just deteriorating in front of us. Deku is not accepting any help from me or my quirk. Meaning I am unable to work properly.

His temperature has dropped far too cold for the human body. Yet all visuals point to a temperature of 49.7, that would be A fatal temperature for any body to be at. He's confusing me and himself. This boy is under too much stress, so much so that his organs are on the brink of failure. No they should have failed.

I can't get any medical readings on his stats other than basic visuals. It looks like his insides have been burned within an inch of their life. Constantly failing only to heal and fail again. He seems to be fighting off just enough to stay alive but..." The lady trails off this would be the hardest news for the man who seems to care to much for a lost child he's had only a day or so.

"Look shota dear it's... it's very delicate and complicated. I don't even have the information I want, other that his heart." She stops herself again sighing deeply. It's hard to find the words that won't make this worse.

"Dearie I can't hear or feel his heart beating at all. In all questions this boy should be dead. This boy is dead." The old nurse rubs her tired eyes again. She looks up to the man who called her over in the first place. "I've never seen this before in my 65 years." She mutters lowly.

Aizawa doesn't hear her, more ficsated on the words that left the women's lips. His eyebrows furrow as he raises his head. "But he's not dead." He simply states not meeting the lady's gaze instead pronouncing it to the wall behind her.

"Shota," she tries again, "His pulse it's...it's there I'll give you that but his heart beat, it's practically gone." She shakes her head unbelieving at the words leaving her mouth. "No his heart beat is gone. His heart it is gone. There's no indication of it at all. I couldn't even take blood since there are no veins. Surly you can understand why I'm so lost."

At this Aizawa snaps slightly. All respect and gratitude for the nurse who traveled here in the middle of the night temporarily gone. "But his pulse is still there. He's still alive and he will pull through. He told me..." His voice fades thinking back to last night's events. "He told me not to worry. Said he couldn't die." Aizawa hates to admit how attached he's become to this boy. It's too much if you ask him, yet he couldn't see himself letting the boy go.

Every aspect of deku screams abandonment. Shota wants to look after him. Keep him safe and protect him. He doesn't want the problem kid out of his sight. And definitely doesn't want the kid to leave.

The lady sighs tapping her cane on the mans leg to signal her moving. He takes the hint and they both start walking towards the kitchen. "You said he was talking about his quirk right? And what happened to him the morning you found him?" Aizawa nods staying quiet partly in thought.

"So what is his quirk? His injuries are all internal and very serious. I'm not surprised he collapsed and had such a reaction. After hiding it that long he was almost walking dead." The lady states plainly. There's no sugar coating or warmth to her voice.

If she can't figure this out then Aizawa sure as hell can't. She was his best hope. He watches quietly as the lady grabs a glass of water and pulls out some gummies. "I want you to pour yourself some coffee and drink it. Once the caffeine has gotten to you, You will tell me when I'm back what he told you."

With her words understood and the scruffy man looking less dead than when she first saw him an hour ago, the short lady walks down the hall and disappears into the spare room.

Left to himself Aizawa can't help but dig through the mess of memories he gathered over the past few days. 'The name of the boy...' he thinks. 'The one he gave me, Deku?' What was familiar about that to him. He's never heard of someone being named after useless yet he could swear he's heard it before, he's never seen him before so where? He'd remember striking white hair like that surely.

It annoys him to no end having a child in a position that most pro heroes couldn't handle. And the fact he hasn't got enough information to help in anyway, even to keep him stable is proving difficult. Maybe it's the lack of sleep or the over dose of caffeine but he is adamant about saving this boy.

He finished the cup of death liquid in seconds placing the cup into the sink and filling it with water to wash later. The soft Foot steps bring him back to reality as the nurse re-emerges. She places her bag down and sits on the seat opposite the now more awake man. "Now shota, if you would dear." Aizawa nods again taking the hint.

"He told me he never thought he had a quirk until recently. He made it clear he doesn't like his quirk. Said a hero ruined his life. Other than his mother the boy never spoke of a family and says he has no where to go. He mumbled something about a friend but I couldn't catch half of it.

He didn't know why he turned up here, I think it's part of his quirk. The injuries he has aren't from his quirk or him. Someone gave him them. He wouldn't tell me who, but I'm sure it was a villain."

"A villain? What makes you say that." The lady guides pure curiosity flowing from her tone. As well as underlying concern. Villains are a serious problem and have to be dealt with in such a manner.

"It was before he started, well before whatever is wrong with him started. He was talking to me about how his friend got held captive by a villain. Said no one would help them out not even the heroes. Since he thought he was quirkless at the time he went running to find help. He Was practically desperate, a last resort.

He did find help but it had a big price to pay. And now we know what the price was. The villain let the friend go and then deku, said that was his name, had to pay up.

I presume he was taken by the person who helped free his friend. The villain."

"Deku? An unusual name." The lady says. Shota nods continuing, "I think that was part of the deal he made. And the price. After that he said that and the more details and in depth he got the more he started acting strange almost as if something was preventing him from telling me, or anyone about the injuries or anything that was more detailed." The man sips his second cup of coffee.

"It's a hard one." He adds.

The nurse hums in response. She has been thinking about everything she had been told and from what she could get from the boys injuries. "I have a theory on his quirk." She speaks out. This immediately gets Aizawa's attention who stops his daydreaming and focused on the lady. "I believe his quirk or part of his quirk helps the boy to survive trauma and injuries."

Aizawa raises an eyebrow. "Like a regenerative quirk?" He asks. The lady laughs. "No. I believe His quirk slows down his bodys working so much he basically becomes dead, takes his spirit away. This is to stop anything from killing or seriously hurting him mentally. The reason he can't speak about it however I'm not as sure on."

Aizawa lowers his eyebrow. "That's a good theory recovery girl. Trust you to figure things out. If you haven't already. The barrier on his talking sounds like the villains quirk to stop him from telling anyone about them. A sort of precaution perhaps?" He finishes.

"Maybe but there is something wrong with that boy. His body can not continue like this. His quirk is killing him and without my healing abilities I can't guarantee his life. He's fighting his own battles. But it's strange though he may have a pulse, it's weak but there, he doesn't appear to breath and I cant hear any kind of heartbeat or feel his heart at that. Not to mention the fact I can't find his veins, maybe he's dehydrated."

Recovery girl looks troubled by the whole ordeal. "I'm old enough to know I'm not missing things, that boy is half dead and only he can save himself. Now what's the time? I must be on my way. Since I can't provide my services fully, I will be no help here. It looks like we will have to do this the old fashioned way. Keep a close eye on him. I left some of my gummies too. I have a feeling They may not work either but give it a try." Aizawa nods standing up to get the door.

"Thank you again for coming and stabilising him. I can't appreciate it enough." He says to the lady. "I did what I can the rest is up to him. He is no were near as stable as I would like him to be. You're in charge now. I trust you shota." Aizawa nods seeing her out. "See you recovery girl." After the door closes the man lets out a frustrating grown.

"Problem child, what am I gonna do with you?"
