"I found someone who can speak German," Shannon said, going over to a table where a man was standing up, holding a steak knife in his hand.

"Legen Sie es hinunter. (Put it down)," I said in German, glaring at him.

"Dumm, amerikanisches Mädchen. Sie denkt, sie kann dazubringen, das Messer runter zu legen. (Stupid American Girl. She thinks she can get me to put down this knife)," he mumbled, glaring at me.

I pulled my arm out of Shannon's grip and advanced slowly towards him. "Bitte, legen Sie es hin. (Put it down, please)."

"Und was werden Sie tun, wenn ich es nicht tue? (And what will you do if I don't?)"

I smirked. "Wollen Sie, dass ich es tue? (Do you want me to do it?)" I purred still advancing, slowly, towards him.

"If you hurt him, then you're fired," Mr. Ratchet said. "He is a loyal customer here."

"If he attacks me, then I got the right to protect myself," I said, switching back to English. "If he doesn't, then I won't attack him."

"Joeslyin," he warned.

"Also, was wird es sein? Wirst du das Messer runter tun oder muss ich es mir holen? (So, what's it going to be? Will you put down the knife, or will I have to take it from you?)" I asked, ignoring Mr. Ratchet's comment and switching back to German.

"Du musst es von mir holen (You'll have to take it from me)," the male growled out, narrowing his eyes in challenge.

I smirked and walked until I was a foot away from him. I only reached his shoulders, but I wasn't scared of him. "Eine letzte Chance, Sir (One last chance, Sir)," I said, "legen Sie das Steakmesser hin oder ich werd es mir holen (put down the steak knife, or I'll take it from you)."

"Komm und hol es dir (Come and get it)," he growled. His whole body was tense, while he waited for me to get it.

I sighed and looked at Mr. Ratchet. "He's not gonna place down the steak knife. Can I take it from him please?"

"As long as you do not hurt him."

"It will only be a short cut," I replied innocently.

"Joeslyin."

"It was a joke."

I looked at the man and frowned. "Sind Sie sicher, dass Sie ihre, Meinung nicht ändern wollen? Es würde all diesen Unsinn stoppen (Are you sure you don't want to change your mind? It will stop all nonsense.)"

He looked at me, daringly. "Gib mir deinen besten Schuss (Give me your best shot)," he growled out.

I sighed and looked down. I looked up at him, my eyes filled with challenge. "Du hast es (You asked for it)," I said, narrowing my eyes.

He looked at me, and I saw a look of doubtfulness before he lunged. His attack was wide, as if he was trying to scare me and not hurt me. There were a couple of gasps, but I stayed calm, watching him.

I smiled, sidestepped his arm, grabbed his arm, and pulled the steak knife out of his hand in about... 3 seconds. I had the knife and was standing in front of him again. A smirk was on my face, while I looked at him.

"Ich habe es gesagt, es hinzulegen. Nun, was wollen Sie gerne essen? (I told you to put it down. Now, what would you like to eat?)"

They stared at me, their mouths were open as if in shock. I guess they didn't know I could move that fast or something like that.

I placed the knife on the table and looked around. There was the man, who had the knife, Shannon, Mr. Ratchet, a boy, and a girl, I haven't been introduced to, looking at me as if they saw an alien.

"What?" I asked the group, feeling slightly self-conscious. I shifted on my feet a little, tensing slightly.

Crash, something fell making me, and I guess everybody else, jump.

"Who let this dog in here?" someone shouted in the kitchen.

"Bitte schauen Sie über das Menü, und ich werde bald wieder (Please look over the menu and I will be right back)," I said in German, following the rest of the crew as they sprinted into the kitchen.

Crash.

"Whoever let that dog in, I'm going to fire them," Mr. Ratchet muttered.

Crash.

"Get the dog."

"Block him."

"It's not a dog. It's a miniature sized bear!"

Crash.

"Ouch, that gotta hurt."

What we saw, when we got in there was complete and utter chaos.

Everyone was trying to get a big, black, dog, and they weren't paying attention to anyone else, or anything, since there were a lot of broken dishes and furniture.

"Get that damn dog out of my kitchen!" Mr. Ratchet growled, glaring at everyone.

I pushed my way into the kitchen and snapped my fingers. The dog and everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at me.

"Sit," I commanded.

Everyone obeyed and sat.

"I was talking to the dog!" I said, at how the waiters and cooks sat. "Why are you all sitting?"

They stood up, except for the dog, mumbling about the power that I had in my voice. They cleared their throat and didn't meet me in the eye, probably thinking that I was some powerful witch.

I blinked, amused, and looked at the dog. "Come," I commanded, turned around, and walked out.

The dog went and followed me out, keeping up with me. His brown eyes glanced around everywhere and his tongue was lolled out of his mouth. His black tail wagged, as if he was happy to be with someone.

We walked out of the kitchen and into the front area, where everyone saw him. "Awww, come here pooch," people said, calling for him.

The dog looked at me and ignored everyone else, since I guess I did. He stayed looking forward, sometimes glancing up at me.

We walked to the entrance, and I opened the door for him, waiting for him to go out. He wasn't allowed in here, so I don't know why he was.

He sat down, cocked his head and one ear, and looked at me with his tongue hanging out on one side. He looked confused onto why I was making him leave, so that was why he was sitting there, looking at me.

It melted my heart to see him look at me like that. I needed a dog, but I wasn't going to say that to him. "Well, what are you waiting for?" I asked him. "Go on and go."

He looked at me and pouted. The look that he gave me, made me think that he wanted to stay by my side. However, I didn't know the dog, and he wasn't mine to keep and love.

I had to bite my lip and look away from him to stop from petting him. He was a cute dog, and I wanted him for my own. But, there was someone that was probably missing him. So, I knew that I couldn't keep him.

He whined, but I heard him stand up and walked out the door. I shut it and watched as he found my bike and sat down, looking around before looking at the pub again.

"So it's your dog," Mr. Ratchet said, making me jump up and turn around to see him and everyone else staring at me.

"I don't know who that dog is. I know it's not mine," I replied, looking back at the dog, trying to ignore the fact that I was being watched by lots of people.

"Then why did he listen to you, and how do you know it's not yours?"

"Do you know that this is my first fitting clothes in a long time?: I asked, looking at him. I gestured to the clothing that I was wearing.

He blinked and looked at me weirdly. "Your first pair that fits? How is that true?"

I sighed and looked up at him, then looked away blushing. "My sister was very sick. Most of our money was to pay off her medical bills." I shook my head and sighed. "She died when she was seven, and it was her birthday. We thought she would make it but... she didn't. We still got bills to pay. We also have to pay for the house, electricity, water, and food. We don't have much money to buy us clothes. I had to wear hand me downs from friends and/or family members, since she was two."

"What did she have?"

I shook my head and closed my eyes. I still felt down about it, and I didn't want to cry. I missed her really much "We don't know. We tried almost everyone, and they didn't know what was wrong with her."

"Who works in your family?"

"Mom stayed home and does housekeeping. She used to be a show-jumper and worked at a barn before we had my sister. Dad worked but..."

"But what?"

"He left. I-I don't know what happened to him."

He looked around and saw everyone standing around looking at us. "Why are you all standing around for?! Get back to work!" He looked at me, narrowing his eyes. "You too, Miss Lone, and don't cry."

I nodded, bit my lip, and left going to work. He told me not to cry, but I couldn't help not wanting to, because she had been my life. She was the one that made me feel happy when I was sad. And I missed her very much. Some days I missed her more than others.
