《A Trip In Time》Chapter 18

It was beginning to feel like that lovely dream I had about going back in time was becoming my nightmare. It seemed to be all I was thinking about lately. As it happened when I was there little details began to slip my mind. The servants' names were getting harder to remember. The one person who didn't seem like they would be disappearing anytime soon was Phillip. I could be in the middle of music class and a certain melody or the way someone would say something would cause me to think of him. I would always wonder what he would be up too. Since Kara had told me about the new student I was still trying to figure out who was new in my school. I should have probably paid attention a little more to who was who. She would tell me about his gorgeous eyes and how tall he was. I tried not to think about him too much because he would bring up feelings for Phillip and I was trying to move on from that. I had been going through my days on auto pilot. I was just doing the motions and saying the right words.
"So I was thinking it would be a great idea. Don't you think?"
"Yea that does sound like a good idea."
"Great so we will pick you up around 6."
She was smiling and so happy now. It took a few seconds for the words she said to make their way through my brain. When it clicked I knew I was in trouble now. I had no idea what I just has promised to go do with her and it was more than just her because she said we.
"We?"
"Yea me and John and his best friend. Didn't you listen to any of what I was just talking to you about?"
"I heard bits and pieces but I didn't hear the whole thing."
"Well John is the new guy I have been talking to you about. His friend moved here too. I didn't get the whole story as to why they moved here but John wanted to take me out but didn't want to leave his friend with no one. That's when I told him about you and it worked out."
"Okay it sounds fun."
Kara got the answer she wanted and made her way down the hall to her next class. I closed my locker and made my way in the opposite direction. It was the start of my weekend and I had plans with complete strangers. I was hoping this was going to turn out better than what was going on in my head. I zoned out in the rest of my classes thinking about what I could wear. I had the choice to pick between trying to impress or just letting myself go how I am. I knew I was going to impress who ever this new boy was and I had the perfect dress in mind.

After school was done, I made my way back home and went straight up to my room. My mom wasn't home yet and I knew it would be hours before my dad was even a thought of being home. I started to go through all my clothes trying to find the dress I was thinking of. I had torn up my whole closet and the dress was nowhere to be found and I was starting to worry about what to wear. I started going back through all my outfits to see if I could find something that would be second place. I was still trying to figure out why I was so concerned with impressing someone I didn't even know. After a few minutes of searching and a text from Kara saying there were heading my way I found a light pink sundress and threw that on. It was just in time for the car to pull up in front of the house. I left a note for my mom to know where I would be and made my way out to the car. I was guessing that John was driving. I couldn't really see his face. Kara was in the passenger seat next to him so I made my way to the back door and slide in behind Kara.
"Hey."
"Hey, Lily this is John and John this is Lily."
"Nice to meet you John."
He was a good looking guy I would give that to her. I looked over to the seat that was behind him but there was no one there. It felt weird to be here when it was supposed to be a double date so to speak.
"Sorry we have to pick up my buddy next. It just worked out that he would be the last one before we made our way to dinner."
"That sounds good."
I relaxed back into the seat and looked out the window as he made his way through the streets. We pulled into a driveway and I was looking to see if I could tell if I could see the guy who was my date. I saw someone walking towards the car but couldn't see his face yet. The door opened and I watched as they made their way into the car.
"Hey John way to be twenty minutes late."
He gave a laugh as he sat down. It was then that all I could do was stare at him. There was no way that it could possibly be him. I could have sworn my eyes were playing a trick on me. None of this was making sense and I just wanted to ask so many questions now.
"Sorry Kara had a late start which pushed everything back. We will be cutting it close but I have a feeling we will be just fine."

"Lily this is my best bud Phillip. Phillip this is Kara's best friend Lily."
That was when he turned to look at me and he had the same look on his face that I had when he got in the car. I opened my mouth to say something but he put his finger to his lips to tell me to hush. I was confused as to why he would be acting like he didn't know me. I wanted to question him right now but to the other two that may seem weird.
"It is a pleasure to meet you."
"Same with you."
It was only a few more minutes before we arrived at the restaurant but I was no longer hungry. I was looking forward to being able to talk to him and find out did I really go back to the past and what was going on here. How did he get here in this time? John and Kara were the first two out of the car and they led the way into the restaurant. John was the one that did all the talking and got us the table. I just wanted to be alone with Philip to be able to talk without having anyone around to listen to our conversation.
"Lily I know it might not be an interesting date to be on but I appreciate that you are doing this for me."
"I would do anything for you."
"I know that it could be awkward but they only had two tables right next to each other but nothing all together."
"It is fine with me."
I sat down at the table and Phillip sat across from me. As Kara and John sat at their table. This was the perfect space that was needed to have a private conversation. It was like everything was working out because now Kara and John would have no idea what we are talking about and we can talk freely without having to find some sort of code to talk in.
"Is it really you?"
"I could ask you the same thing."
Philip gave me a little smirk when he said this. How could I not be real, he has come to my world and none of it made sense. The seer never said anything about Philip being able to come into this world. Why did I have to make a decision if the person would be in either world. Now I couldn't ask the seer anything because he wasn't in this world or at least I didn't think he was in this world. With him being in this world what happened to his parents and sister.
"How are you here?"
"Well it is simple. Once you chose to dance with Adam I went to the Seer to see what he said to you. He told me the whole story which made sense. You were stuck in a hard place and you had to choose between this place and my home. I could see for a while you were having fun there and you wanting to stay and I want to know what changed between us."
"You were the one that put that distance there. When your sister came back you stopped talking to me and opening up to me. There were times I went weeks without seeing you. It was like you went back to your old way of things and that was when I knew that I needed to come back here. It killed me on the inside that you were no longer sharing with me like you were before."
"I was in the position of taking over the kingdom from my father, didn't anyone tell you that? I was in meetings and different events with my father. It was supposed to happen after we got married. It would be announced that my father would be stepping down from his reign and handing over the kingdom to us."
"No one told me anything. I just saw you not coming around anymore and it was like you were closing off again. I didn't want to be hurt that is why I choose Adam because he was the safe bet. I didn't know what would happen when I got back here but I would be willing to take that risk."
"My sister knew what was going on. I was sure she would have told you."
I just shook my head. Elizabeth knew what was going on. I couldn't believe she didn't tell me that was why Phillip wasn't around. She kept making sure I would know how long he had been gone.
"No she was the one that was pointing out to me when you weren't around. She was making it a point to let me know how you were pulling away."
I was getting mad that the one person I thought I could count on was the one that set me up for failure. My head was spinning and I was trying to pull bits and pieces out that would make everything okay again.

For every player action, there is a RIN reaction, and that has remained true throughout the game's entire runtime. There are many stories, many legends, that have been carved into the world of Aelios, but here we focus on two new players to the world. One aims to create in this new world, the other, to escape.
