I raced towards a bush and started making snowballs. I was around the fifth when I noticed that Patrick wasn't with me. I looked over the bush and saw him standing awkwardly in the middle of the field. "Patrick!" I shouted. He looked to me. I gestured that he comes over. He looked a bit embarrassed, and ran over.
"Sorry......" he mumbled.
I just pointed at the ground. "Start making 'em, Holmes." He began working on the snowballs, and so did I. We had quite a storage when we heard the bell again. "Starts now!" I said, and took some of the snowballs. "Come on, let's go!" I whispered, standing up slowly. I saw that the massacre had already begun. At least ten players were out already. I aimed at a player, but missed. He, unfortunately, noticed where I was standing. He shot a snowball in my direction, but I dodged it. Patrick was still stuffing his pockets with snowballs. "C'mon, man, we have to go! They know where we stand!" He looked up and realized it was important.
He quickly stood up. "Let's go!" he yelled. "
We don't hide anywhere, though. We start fighting!" He nodded. He aimed at that guy who nearly shot me, and shot him.
"MAX IS OUT!" The announcer screamed. Me and Patrick started picking off the players. It took a while, though. Patrick proved that he was better with snowballs than me, so I made them while he shot. I noticed the someone aiming at him.
"LOOK OUT!" I shouted, but it was too late.
The snowball hit him in the back, and I quickly helped him up. He ran away, and I turned around to face my last opponent. He had a hoodie on, covering half of his face.

Oh, look, Alice, it's your friend! the voice said. I knew it wasn't David, though. The half of his face that I saw didn't have a cut-in smile. I breathed out, relieved. Thank god. I aimed a snowball at his stomach, and shot it. It was so close to hitting him before he dodged.
"My turn, Alice." I heard him say. This took me aback, and before I knew it, a snowball whizzed past my ear. I made another snowball, and shot it in his way. He, of course, dodged it. He aimed one after the other, and tried to shoot me again and again. I didn't want to loose, and I knew that. I made myself another snowball while he was, too. I used my confidence and shot it with all my power. I waited for it to hit him, but it never did. I realized that just before I started spitting snow from what had just hit my face.
"AAAND WE HAVE OUR WINNER!" The announcer........well, announced.
The guy pulled his hoodie down, revealing bright brown eyes and black hair, and walked up to the little stage, like everyone else, and he was handed a medium gold-coloured trophy. The announcer also gave me and Patrick a silvery medal each. I checked my clock: 16:00! How can it be this late? How did the time fly so fast?
Me and Patrick were walking home when he asked me something I'd been wondering. "Hey, Alice, who do you think that was?" I racked my brains, searching for someone with eyes that were that light brown. It wasn't easy to forget them. I didn't find anything, though.
"I don't know, but he apparently knew me......" I wondered. "How would he know you if you don't know him?" I shrugged. How, indeed? We came home and Mom was pulling her boots off. "Mom? What were you doing?"

She smiled. "I went to see how my daughter was doing! You're really good, you know?"
I shook my head. "I'm really bad. I mean, I lost. Again. For the sixth time. Tara would be very proud." She laughed.
"Speaking of Tara, have you skyped her yet?"
"No, actually, I haven't!"
"Why don't you go now? I'll make dinner." I led Patrick to my room, and prepared myself to see my best friend again.
