《Whodunnit ?》Chapter 25 - Ejected

Forty minutes after the initial investigation stage, Giles huddled the remaining five guests back into the parlor where he would read the riddle supplied by the killer.
"My dear guests." Giles started.
"It seems the killer has supplied me with another riddle." The Butler held up another sealed letter with the Rue Manor crest on it.
"Shock," Dan said sarcastically.
Giles cleared his throat before reading the eighth riddle of the game.
"Chilly, Chilly, Chilly. Jamie was a froze. How do you ask? Only me knows. Searching high and low will provide a clue, much-needed information for a chosen few. Wondering what this means? Do you wish a prayer? Just a look to the sky and you're halfway there."
All five guests immediately ran outside to the front of the Manor. They all started by looking up. For the taller guests (The guys) they had to shield their eyes from the punishing light which was coming from the humid day.
"The kitchen has a fridge freezer. That's deemed 'chilly' right?" Michelle whispered to Reynold as they circled the Manor, looking up.
"It's worth a shot." With that, Michelle & Reynold took off back inside Rue Manor and into the Kitchen. (Which still hadn't been cleaned up.)
Dan very much wanted to search on his own and took off back inside the Manor to the outdoor area, where Jamie & Natalie's bodies were discovered just a day apart from each other.
This left Brianna & Nelson, they circled the entire front portion of Rue Manor and looked up at the sky like confused children. Nelson even brought up the idea that the clue could potentially be written in the few clouds of the sunny day, however, Brianna had her doughs that that theory was actually gonna happen.
-
"Holy shit!" Michelle cursed loudly as her and Reynold entered the kitchen. The blood which had obviously come from Jamie was well and truly still present in the kitchen. The walls themselves were now practically red themselves.
"Well, at least we now know what was at the last known whereabouts now." Reynold smiled slightly as he looked around the bloody kitchen.
It didn't take long for the two of them to realise that the pressure pad just in front of the fridge freezer was the factor of the fridge door to swing open.

"Interesting," Michelle observed the fridge closely as the fridge door slowly swung open.
Reynold came up with a theory "So he was obviously standing here and something happened which caused..." Reynold looked around the bloody room "This!"
Michelle continued searching inside the fridge. And noticed how just like Brianna did. There was only little amounts of blood of the intents of the fridge. "I'm guessing something might have come up from behind him and that caused the blood to spurt backward?" Michelle assumed that the little amount of blood inside was a result of something coming up behind Jamie.
"Thats what I was thinking." Reynold agreed with the only person he trusted left in Rue Manor.
"Maybe this could be a throw off though?" Michelle speculated.
Reynold circled the room again, wondering if he possibly missed a clue. And it seemed that he did.
On-top of the tall fridge, there was five little envelopes which were all placed on individual stands. Reynold (using his height to his advantage) snatched his envelope first and then handed Michelle here's.
The envelope had a tiny note inside which read...
"Climb on top of the fridge, move the ceiling and follow the climb."
"The climb?" The redhead said out loud.
Reynold wasted no time and managed to somehow climb on top of the fridge. With a light push of the ceiling, a passageway broke away and tiny, dimly lit body sized hole emerged. With a single ladder built into the wall.
"It's a ladder!" Reynold exclaimed still on top of the fridge.
"Ok you go on then! I'll stay here to try and avert the others if they come in." Michelle encouraged the doctor to climb the ladder alone, and find the next clue which would be relevant to the case of Jamie's murder.
The thirty-four year old felt uneasy if the thin ladder would actually hold any humans weight, but he quickly realised that this did hold the killer so it had to be sturdy.
-
As Reynold started to scale the ladder, Brianna & Nelson started slowly working their way towards the kitchen. Unbeknown to Michelle.
"Where's the others? I haven't seen Dan or Michelle & Reynold around at all." Brianna was confused that at the time she hadn't seen any of the other three guests left in Rue Manor.

"They're probably still looking up somewhere." Nelson chuckled, feeling more confident for his chances then Michelle's and Reynolds at finding a clue. As for Dan, he didn't really know if the footballer would find a clue with only himself looking.
Just as the two were about to turn into the library. Brianna noticed that through the open kitchen door, Michelle was looking upwards suspiciously.
"Why are you looking up here?" Brianna had no shame in quickly walking into the kitchen and challenging Michelle.
"Uh.. I" Michelle stammered around.
Luckily before Michelle had to think of a worthy excuse to stop the two from finding the ladder. The estate bell rang, making the wannabe actress quickly sigh in relief since it was most likely that Reynold had found the clue.
Brianna & Nelson both cursed simultaneously as they realised that they hadn't found the clue. They knew that if Reynold found the clue, there was a chance that at least one of them would be scared tonight.
Meanwhile Dan, who had been on Jamie's bedroom balcony the entire time. Sighed in defeat and strolled out of his once alive friends suite.
-
Reynolds fear of heights almost made him turn around back onto the ladder once he realised that it led him to the Rue Manor roof, but he knew he needed this clue. He didn't actually know how Jamie was killed by the killer, just yet.
The first thing that the doctor noticed was that there was a few tiny blood drops. That were leading away from the manhole of the ladder. Among following the dark blood drops, Reynold realised that they led to the roof chiller.
Approaching the massive machine, Reynold noticed what seemed to be some sort of instruction manual on the door of the chillier.
It read
The doctor was glad that he had the information of how Jamie fell off the roof now. But he was still missing something, the murder weapon. What caused all the blood in the kitchen.
At first the tall man thought he'd never find it. But upon opening the massive chillier machine door. He saw a very bloody harpoon resting peacefully on a shelf. He also noticed how there was a motion detector on the head of the harpoon. The doctor gave a curled smile of delight, he knew exactly how Jamie died.
-
"Congratulations to Mr Jiggon. You have solved the riddle today. I now suggest that you all share the information that you have found or have not found. The killer has allowed you all to speak for a few hours before you have to retire to your rooms before dinner. See you all tonight guests." With that Giles left the parlour, just like he always did.
Brianna, Nelson & Dan all knew that Reynold & Michelle were not going to share information whatsoever. They all knew that there was a chance that this was going to be their last afternoon alive on earth. But they did kind of respect the other twos decision. If Reynold & Michelle helped any of them at this point it was just going to put themselves into more jeopardy.
The final five all decided to have a chill afternoon. After the first hour of people discussing how they thought Jamie was murdered, they all lounged about the Rue Manor pool. It was still pretty creepy for Nelson & Brianna to be swimming in the pool, seeing how Natalie's dead body was in it just yesterday. But they knew they needed a dip. The hot weather was making them sweat just by sitting in it for a few minutes.
Brianna knew that she was the only person that Nelson could trust, and Nelson felt the same way about Brianna. They were definitely getting closer these past days, so much so that the kiss from Brianna didn't really surprise Nelson. He knew the age gap was big but he knew Brianna was attracted to him and he felt the same way.
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to them. Michelle, Dan & Reynold all watched in shock from the sun loungers.
"Idiots." Reynold mouthed to Dan.
"Do they not know that there's a chance that both of them could be killed?" Dan shook his head in surprise.
Things were definitely heating up in Rue Manor.

Starting chapters are heavily invested in psychology and philosophy. A story about John Keene exploring a different world. This project is similar to 'Ex Legacy' and 'Aidan Alastair'; they follow similar plots. 8 182Fateless: The Silver Lining
It has been ten years of peace for the Union since the end of the great war with the eastern barbarian tribes, yet in the cold north of the Union's land, a new threat is looming. This time, an ambitious Lord is seeking to restore the yore pride of his kin, forcing the weakened Union into yet another unwanted war, as he ramps up the ranks of his army with thieves, murderers and mercenaries.* * *The temperature inside the forge was nearly twice as high as the one outside. A black-haired girl hammered a steel ingot into the shape of a blade. The heat of the steam was draining her stamina away, but her focus remained sharp as her sweat streamed down her face. Hit after hit, for hours, the sound of the hammering steel followed the rhythm of her breathing. Exhausted, she placed the blade into the water and wiped the sweat off her face using a drenched rag. Why are they screaming? Vatra dipped the rag back in the water, twisted it, and approached the window. Her mouth opened as her world shattered again into the living nightmare she had wilfully tried to forget. She bit her lips; it wasn’t a dream. The pulse of her heart rose. A cold sweat prickled her back. A mother was running, and a child was screaming. A torrent of smoke was emerging from the roof of her neighbour. Vatra’s eyes blinked. The mother lay on the ground, a spear through her back. A torch circled in the air and landed on the roof of her workshop. In the distance, a man wearing a banner well known to the world… Fateless is a philosophical medieval dark low fantasy centered on war, militaristic campaigns and geopolitical conflicts between multiple empires. This story follows the fate of Vatra, a former slave from the eastern Nar Empire who was raised in a culture far away from her own, forced into warfare against her will, and the fate of Lanaya, an ambitious half-angel exiled from her home whose existence is seen as heresy. As they wished for peace, both chose a path opposed to one another until their fate crossed. In this story where war dictates the law, love strikes them as a poisoned balm to which they grasp for with all their might, as it is in the darkest of times that the smallest flames may burn the brightest. * * * Tome 1 already completed and available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Fateless-Silver-Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot/dp/B09LGSH1KK Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot-100547579135891/ I will publish 1 chapter per week (sometimes 2 if the chapters are too short for my liking).
8 482Magikind [Original]
The third millennia, a time of change and evolution. An era, where people, through countless generations, have evolved strange powers and abilities. Through several centuries of selective breeding, these beings, known as mages, have become part of the very foundations of society. However, some refused to change or adapt. They believed in purity and refused to interbreed with magikind. Known as the manush, they were a rarity among society. Now, in the fifth millennia, the manush are thought extinct. With magikind ruling the world, a three-way war grips society. In these uncertain times, a manush called Gin, will herald a new era for all Magikind. A story of how man could realistically evolve while still pushing boundaries. Disclaimer: Chapters will be edited once the first volume is done. Bear the beginning for the time being, and hopefully you can see my writing improving over time (I've learnt a lot on how to write because of this (though I'm still not perfect :P)) Proud Member of Writers to the End, WriTE The link to the pledged fictions PS. If you find the 'notes' too boring or too info-dumpy, feel free to skip them and just read the main chapters. They're there for the reader to understand Gin's world (written in the perspective of Gin). But later on, we can see some interactions between the main characters and the occasional references to his past in the notes, so it has its purpose.
