《Whodunnit ?》Chapter 11 - The Game Changing Dinner

Nelson was lucky with the information he received, the bell to discuss the riddle rang just before Dan gave the last crucial clue to him. The maids individually took each of the guests up to their rooms and told them the time of dinner tonight. "8:30 PM"

As for every night, the guests could not leave their rooms to discuss game until the dinner was over. Tonight had a bit more trepidation in the air as six of the guests had no idea what they were gonna say when stating the guests,

Sophie (The maid) Arrived at Reynold's room first and guided him downstairs into the library, where he stated his case. This process continued until Brianna was the last one to join the dining table.

The guests (all in respects for Courtney) decided not to sit in her seat at the dinner. They felt it was creepy how a dead body was lying in that seat for however long.

"So. There was definitely a change in power today." Michelle commented as she took a sip of her red wine.

Dan chuckled as he dug into his steak. "Yes, there was."

"Since the investigations over. How did Courtney actually die?" Greg couldn't hold in the patience anymore.

Jamie curled a smile out of the corner of his lips. "You'll see."

With that, Giles stumbled into the dining room. With the ten guests faces turning to a light shade of white.

"Guests. I think you all know the rules by now." Giles prepared the guests before he opened the killer's envelope.

"One of you have certainly caught my eye today. And have claimed the title as the best detective. Congratulations..."

Dan, Jamie & Natalie prepared themselves.

"Natalie! You gave the best detail on how Miss Fox met her demise. You are spared."

Natalie gave a graceful smile as the guests covered her in praise. Dan was a bit shocked about how Natalie won. "I must have missed something," He thought to himself.

"As for the rest of you, your safety is not guaranteed. But for now relax as I recall how our dear guest was killed."

"Killing Courtney was very planned. It all started last night, when everyone adjourned to their rooms I secretly took the lift down to the kitchen. Tiptoeing across the room, I slipped out the Rue Manor note from my jacket pocket and left a note on the countertop. 'Sit in your normal seat at breakfast and you will be spared.' ..."

Talia & Alec whipped their heads to their team, confused about how they didn't find the note in the kitchen. Looking over to Jamie, they both found a sinister smirk glaring their way.

"I then prepared myself by crawling into my secret tunnel, which leads from

the kitchen drawers to the dining room draws."

Reynold shook his head, slightly disgusted that Talia & Alec missed out so much at their area.

"I then waited until the next morning. Luckily, Courtney got to the kitchen first that night. Upon reading the note, the lawyer immediately ran into the dining room and took the seat she had sat in for her duration of her stay at Rue Manor. Little did she know that the pressure she put on the seat was actually a pressure pad, which released my snake hiding in its cage behind the curtains."

"Snake!?" Greg hissed a bit too loud.

"Slithering across the room (leaving a tail of slime behind), it finally arrived at Courtney's ankles. The snake then finally took a deep bite into Courtney's ankle. Feeling the pain she rose from her seat. Luckily for me she only could let out a small squeak of pain before I rose from my tunnel and shot her with my gun, shooting her straight in the spine and making her lazily stumble back into her seat. Once I made sure Courtney was dead, I adjourned to my room until the body was discovered. Yours sincerely, your killer."

The majority alliance all seemed to have their hands in their face by the time that Giles was handing around the Rue Manor envelopes. "As you know, Natalie isn't the only one spared tonight. Each of these cards will state if you are spared or scared."

Giles took a look at each of the guests individually before deciding on who to open first.

"Miss. Hanson?"

Talia nervously picked up her card, not feeling confident in her chances at all. Her face flashed with fear however when she pulled out the first card of the night.

"Talia I'm sorry." Michelle apologised to the youngest in the game.

"Sorry Tal-" Jamie held out a hand of encouragement, which Talia slapped back furiously.

"It's fine." Talia let off a cold voice before turning back to Giles.

"Mr.Jiggon?"

Reynold pulled out a card to his surprise.

"Mr. Kallimster?"

Alec was probably the most nervous guest at the table, his hands were already shaking as he picked up the card from the dining table. He fiddled around with the envelope before pulling out a card.

"Wow." Nelson sighed to himself.

"Mr.Llyod?" Giles called Jamie next.

Without hesitation Jamie picked up his card and revealed a card, shocking no one.

"Mr.Greash?" Giles called out Dan next.

Dan did the exact same as Jamie and without any surprise was .

This left four people. Michelle, Nelson, Brianna & Greg. And one of them was the last person who was going to have to be scared tonight.

"Miss.Doan?" Giles demanded the Olympic kick-boxer to open her card next.

Taking a deep breath, the Olympian picked her card up from the table and thankfully (for her) she was .

"That leaves three of you," Giles commented. Nelson, Greg & Michelle looked at each other worriedly.

"Mr. Grey?"

Nelson knew that he should feel confident. He had all the information after all, but part of him still felt unsure. However, he did pull out the card.

This left Greg & Michelle.

"Mr.Luton you are the penultimate guest tonight to find out your fate."

Greg took an exhale before opening his card. Upon opening his card, the nutritionist saw that he was the last guest tonight. "Brilliant" Greg sighed to himself sarcastically.

Michelle opened her card without being permitted to and saw she was , not to her surprise.

"I am sorry but Mr. Luton, Miss. Hanson and Mr. Kallimaster you are the scared three tonight. I must now adjourn you all to your ro-"

"Bullshit!" Alec frustratedly rose from his seat, in a fit of anger.

"Mr. Kallimaster I understand that-"

"No! You don't understand. I can't die, I have a life outside of this shitty manor. And I am getting out of here!." Alec announced before heading for the dining rooms front doors.

Giles blocked his way. "Alec, you know that you can't leave the manor." Giles's British accent got more stern as the thirty-three-year-old tried to escape Rue Manor.

Alec's face filled up in anger. "Fine. If you block my exit, I'll make another one."

Suddenly grabbing one of the vases from the stands beside Giles, Alec threw the expensive China at the same windows behind the same curtain which the snake cage by Natalie was found.

Upon the impact, the window smashed and the hinges loosened enough for the whole infrastructure to almost topple over.

"Oh my gosh!" Michelle rose from her seat.

"Alec, stop! You're gonna get yourself killed." Jamie warned the oil rig worker as he stepped outside.

The rain which the guests noticed earlier had now started to increase dramatically, setting a tense scene.

Alec sprinted to the Rue Manor gates, not caring about the warning by the other guests and Giles. He wanted to get out of Rue Manor, desperately. By this point, all the guests were out of their seats and each trying to get a view of Alec from the dining room broken window.

Alec quickly made contact with the gates and nothing happened. He smirked to himself, thinking the 'high voltage' warning was just an empty threat. He started climbing higher and higher.

At first, the guests were all apathetic about Alec's chances. But now seeing him almost reach the top of the gates were giving them a big ray of hope.

"Oh my god, He's going to make it." Talia screamed out in excitement.

"We're all going to be saved" Nelson put hope into everyone's mind.

Greg smirked, "It's all ove-"

Suddenly. A massive spark of electricity exploded out of the Rue Manor gates, which violently threw Alec off the gates and onto the damp grass with a loud thud. There was no doubt about it, Alec was very much dead.

"Shit! No." Dan howled as he saw Alec's unresponsive body on the floor.

Giles suddenly took control of the situation. "Right. Everyone upstairs now! And Talia and Greg, don't suspect to be out of the dark now. You are both still scared,"

The guests all raced up the stairs, making sure to lock their doors. Especially Talia & Greg. As they that soon. One of them would be dead.
