《Soulmates | S.M.》3

I woke up, the sun in my eyes. That dream I just had was insane. Spending the night with Shawn Mendes, getting to know him, and talking about life. It would be great if it was real but it was just a dream. I turn my body to face the nightstand and reached for my phone. The screen told me that it was 11:30.
I sat up in the bed, covering myself with the blankets. I looked around and realized my mom wasn't in the room. I picked up my phone, placing it to my ear and gave her a call.
After the fourth ring, she picked up. "Hey mom. Did you leave the room?
"Yeah. I went out to grab some lunch. Your dad is picking me up because we have a party to go to which means you have to drive the car home."
"Alright. I'm cool with that. See you laterrr" I hung up the phone and got up to brush my teeth. After that, I washed my face and as I was about to head back to the bed, I heard a knock at the door. "I wonder who it could be", I thought to myself.
I opened the door and there he was. With his curly hair, perfect skin, perfect smile, a white shirt over a white fluffy jacket, black jeans, and boots. Shawn Mendes.
I stared, my eyes wide open. As perfect as Shawn looked, I on the other hand, was not. I was in my pajamas and had the worst case of bed head.
"I was about to ask if you were ready but it seems to me that you aren't". He shyly smiled.
"I- I'm sorry. Do you have the right room?"
"You are Alana, right?"
"I. Am. You. You're Shawn Mendes."
"I'm quite aware of that. Thanks for pointing it out. Um. May I come in?"
"You. You want to come in?" I asked, still in shock.
He slowly walked in, giving me a pat on the shoulders and walked towards the bed, sitting himself down at the foot. I slowly followed behind him.
"Are you alright?" He asked, his face full of concern.
"Are you real?" I replied.
He gave a tiny snicker and propped his arms behind him on the bed to support himself. "Did you forget everything?"
I sat down on the bed across from him and said, "So. The dream wasn't a dream? I forgot my phone, you gave it to me, we coincidentally are staying at the same hotel, and we spent all of last night talking downstairs?"

He nodded his head. "That sounds about right. And we planned to meet here so you can show me around."
"Yeah. I remember everything we talked about but when I woke up this morning, I thought it was a dream."
"Well, I'm glad it's not." He said giving me a grin. "You should probably go get ready."
"Oh. Right. Sorry. Uh. I'm going to go take a quick shower. Are you okay out here alone?"
"Yeah. I should be fine. I'm a grown child."
I chuckled then stood up and went to the bathroom. I turned on the shower and went in once the water was warm enough.
Jeez. I can't believe the dream wasn't a dream. Shawn Mendes is in my hotel room. Waiting. For me. Me. Alana Sinclair. I need to get it together. I can't embarrass myself in front of him. Wait. It's too late for that since I opened the door in full zombie mode. Okay. I can do it. I have faith in myself. Who am I kidding. No I don't.
After taking a shower, I put on my clothes, a pair of mom jeans and a striped green and white oversized shirt tucked in. I dried my hair with a blow dryer, sprayed some perfume, and walked out of the bathroom. Shawn was just laying on the bed, eyes on the tv.
"Are you ready?" I asked.
With the sight of me, Shawn quickly stood up, fixing his jacket. "I'm uh, yes."
I grabbed my bag, and we walked to the elevator, going downstairs and to my car, a dark grey Jeep Wrangler. I climbed into the drivers seat while Shawn went in the passengers. I plugged in my phone into the aux cord and opened up Spotify, handing it to Shawn.
"Since you are the guest, and I have no idea what you like listening to, would you like to do the honors of picking the music?" I asked while turning on the car and started the drive to our destination.
"I'd be honored to." He said with a grin.
It was silent in the car for about two minutes when Shawn spoke up. "Alana?"
"Yeah?" I asked quickly glancing at him.
"I'm looking at your playlists. 'A Wholesome Bean'?" He softly laughs.
"I. Am. Officially embarrassed. Yeah. That playlist consists of basically all of your songs."

"Don't be embarrassed. It's cute and I'm going to play it."
He pressed play and 'Don't Be a Fool' started playing.
"You've got my heart, but I can't let you keep it babe" He sang along.
"Cause I won't be sure that I can stay" I joined in.
After about two songs, we finally arrived at our destination. My favorite restaurant that mainly sells ramen.
"Ramen?" He asks looking out the window.
I turned off the car engine, taking off my seatbelt. "Not just any ramen. Probably the best ramen place within a 50 mile radius."
We went out of the car, entering the restaurant, and was sat at a table next to a window. We both ordered our food, Shawn with the number 1, a pork based soup that had a bunch of vegetables included and me, with the number 3, which had the same things but the only difference was that the soup was spicy.
After the waiter left after taking our order, Shawn and I talked about random things like how life is on tour and what I plan on doing after college. We were talking for about five minutes when out of the corner of my eye, at the table next to us, three girls were freaking out and pointing towards Shawn.
"You have some admirers over there." I whisper, leaning towards Shawn so he could hear me.
"What are you talking about?"
"You don't see them? It's extremely obvious that they are trying to get your attention."
"How can I when I have you sitting in front of me?" He smirks.
"Are you flirting with me?" I ask, jokingly.
"Maybe." He says, booping my nose.
I sit up straight again and look at Shawn. "So. Are you going to wave at them or something?"
"Nope."
"Why not?" I ask, confused.
"Because I need to go to the bathroom and I am going to be a terrible person and leave you alone with them."
"What? No. I cannot deal with a bunch of fangirls. You don't understand how crazy people get for you."
He shrugged his shoulders, grinning, then stood up and left. Before disappearing from my view, he mouthed the words "good luck".
The first few minutes were fine. Until I heard a "pssst" coming from my right. I looked over and sure enough, it was the girls.
"Hi." I said, giving them a soft smile.
One of the girls, the one who had wavy brown hair spoke up. "Sorry to intrude but. Was that Shawn Mendes you were sitting with?"
"Um. Yeah it was."
Once those words came out of my mouth, her eyes lit up. "Do you mind giving my number to him?" She asked, handing me a slip of paper.
"No. I don't mind." Oh. Yes. I do mind.
I face forwards, taking myself out of the conversation. Our lunch arrived and as I was about to take a bite of the noodles, I heard another "psssst".
I looked towards the girls again and the same girl who gave me the slip of paper said, "So how do you know Shawn? Are you like his assistant or something?"
At this point, I was kind of annoyed because I was just trying to eat my food. "No. I'm his mother." I turn towards my noodles, finally taking a bite.
Before Shawn could come back, the girls left the restaurant. After about two minutes after their departure, he comes back to the table. "What took you so long?" I asked.
"I just wanted to give you enough time to talk to your new friends. Did they say anything to you?"
"Oh. They said a lot. The brown haired girl wanted me to give you her number." I said, sliding the paper towards him. "And, apparently, they think I'm your assistant."
You could tell that he was trying to hold in his laughter. "Are you jealous?" He asked, jokingly.
"Pffft. Of course I'm not jealous."
"What did you say to the assistant thing?"
"Well, she asked if I was your 'assistant or something'." I added air quotes to the last part. "And I replied with 'No. I'm his mother' ".
He looked at me, chuckling. "You did good for your first fan encounter."
"You're saying there's going to be more?" I replied, making a face of disgust.
He tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear, staring deep into my eyes. "Only if you want there to be."
