[I'm sorry for the extremely late update but life happened, I advice you to read the last chapter if you want to understand any of this one, thanks]
Natasha's POV
I woke up slowly. I didn't really want to open my eyes and realise that it was fake. But I knew it was. I glanced at my hand and found no ring. He hadn't proposed of course. It was a dream. I should have understood that since it was pretty cheesy for my own taste but I felt a disappointment hanging in my throat. Did I want to get married? It's so strange. I never really asked myself that before. Steve's side was empty beside me and it looked like he had barley slept at all. Unless he slept straight as a stick since the sheet on his side of the bed wasn't messed up as it was on my side. He had probably been up all night, again. Today's the final call, if Bucky will be free or not.
I grabbed my robe and walked out of the bedroom only to find him, sitting in the sofa, fast asleep. I smiled slightly as I could see his peaceful face without any worry. I was surprised he wasn't dreaming something bad again. I sat down in front of the sofa on my knees and started to kiss his lips. Slowly but many times. His eyes started to flutter open and I stopped kissing him to look at him.
"Big day today soldier." I said quietly. "And just so we don't fight like other couples, I'm telling you now that I had a dream about you and I'm going to be a little grumpy with you all day, understood?"
"What? Like other couples? What is this romance talk Natasha?" He said with a smirk.
"You know what.." I said feeling the dream hanging over me like a thunder storm. I began walking to the bedroom again. I heard his footsteps follow me and I hurried to close the door but he managed to slip through.
"Want to talk about that dream?" He asked with a smile as he sat down on the bed.
"No." I said annoyed as I crossed my arms over my chest. "I really don't." I leaned my back to the wall.
"Okey. Well, we have a lot to do today and I'm kind of worried. You know, if we're sharing stuff." He said with a smile.

"We're not sharing.." I began as he dragged of his shirt and went to the wardrobe to get another one. He looked at me as I stopped talking and smirked.
"What?" I asked as I found his eyes again instead of his chest. It had been a few days since I saw him without shirt. He had been busy with Bucky and rarely slept. And there was not much time over for something else either.
"I didn't say anything." He said as the smile on his face grew.
"Em.. I.." I said as he walked over to me. "Rogers stop it. I'm mad."
"Yeah, I have noticed." He said as he started to kiss my neck slowly. I sighed as his hands found my waist and I could feel the warmth from his body since he stood so close.
"How much time do we got?" He mumbled.
"A lot." I said before I pressed his lips onto mine. He dragged his hand through my hair and I jumped up in his arms as he pressed me to the wall. I wrapped my legs around him and he began kissing my neck again.
"I'm still mad at you." I said and he looked at my face.
"Fine." He said before he kissed my lips over and over again.
Steve's POV
"Quiet everyone!" The judge said as a buzz went through the the crowd of people as it was about to be announced. The whole room went silent and all looks turned to the judge or Bucky. I stared at Natasha who stood across the room. She stared at the judge.
"James Buchanan Barnes, also known as Bucky Barnes, is charged for being a threat to not only out country, but the worlds population because of the fact that he is a living kill machine." The judge began and Natasha frowned in disgust at his choice of words. I felt a stone in my stomach grow.
"But, he is in fact not a machine. He is as we all are, a human being giving him the equal rights as any one of us has. Meaning that we can't punish someone for being sick, we'll instead have to help them. And as these events has occurred before and turned out.." The judge looked at Natasha. "Good.. All the charges of James Buchanan Barnes will be dropped." He said as he slammed the hammer in the bench and the whole room became a loud mix of applause and hate. Natasha turned to look at me and smiled. I tried smiling back but I felt too relived to do anything. I went over to Bucky and hugged him tight. He smiled brightly. It was over. It was finally over.

Natasha's POV
"How's your hand Red?" Tony asked as I joined him, Wanda and Clint.
"I had forgotten about it actually." I said as I sat down next to Clint.
"How's your conscience?" I asked Tony who pretended to shrug.
"Better not bring that up or things will get ugly." He said as he took a bite of his apple.
"Have you guys talked?" Clint asked referring to Steve and Tony shock his head but then chuckled a bit.
"I'm at least friends with his wife so that'll due." He said.
"I'm not his wife." I said as some anger came bubbling over me. "And dream on."
Steve walked into the room with Bucky who tensed at the sight of Tony.
"I'm terribly sorry." Bucky said as his eyes met Tony's.
"No, I should apologise." Tony said and I was surprised by how fast he gave up. He didn't even give him a sarcastic comment. Steve looked at my face, just as confused but I could see the relief in his eyes. I could also see how tired he was.
Time eventually started to flow by again and I turned to Steve after saying a stupid comment to Clint. He walked away towards his apartment and I walked over to Steve. I put my hands around his stomach and hugged him from behind. Bucky sat in the sofa right in front of Steve and stopped talking as I hugged Steve.
"I'm going to bed. And if you sleep anywhere else tonight.." I began.
"She'll divorce you." Bucky said and I gave him a death stare.
"God what's up with everyone today." I said annoyed as I stopped hugging Steve.
"Are you okey Nat?" Steve asked as he took my hand, not letting me walk away angry.
"I told you this morning. Good night guys." I said.
"Thank you Natasha. For everything." Bucky said and I looked at him.
"Anything for my roommates best bud." I said and Steve raised his eyebrows.
"Roommate?" Steve asked as I began walking away.
"Damn man. When you finally get a girl, you mess it up. You haven't changed at all." Bucky grinned.
"Shut up you two." I said to them as I disappeared around the corner.
Steve's POV
I walked into the bedroom to find Natasha in bed already. I walked over to her and gave her a quick kiss.
"No, you're sleeping on the couch." She said, pointing at the living room. I turned to look and realised she actually meant it. She had put out a sheet and everything. I chuckled and she hit me in the arm as her eyes remained closed. I was surprised how she found it since her eyes were closed. "I'm not joking."
I smiled and put some hair that had fallen over her face behind her ear. I kissed her cheek before I went out to the living room.
"What are you doing?" She suddenly said and I found her standing in the doorway. She wore one of my shirts as her legs were bare. "I didn't mean it, obviously." She said as she crossed her arms over her chest. I smiled.
"Yeah I know. I was just getting my pillow." I said as I held it up to show her. She stood quiet for a while and bit her lip.
"You know what, you'll take the couch." She said as she quickly walked back to bed. I smiled and went after her. I dragged of my shirt and pants before I climbed into the covers. I wrapped my arms around her and she sighed. I buried my nose in her hair and breathed in her smell.
"What was that dream?" I asked and she shock her head.
"I might tell you one day." She said and I nodded. I kissed her head and wrapped her a little closer.
"I'm sorry for everything lately." I said.
"Just stop talking and kiss me some more." She said and I smiled. After a hundred kisses, I finally fell asleep.

Note: The cover of the book is from a painting of Richard the Lionheart at the Battle of Arsuf (1191) during the Third Crusade where he defeated Saladin. Painting by Gustave Doré (19th century).
