《I don't love》Part 25

Steve's POV
"Did you love her?" I asked and Bucky looked at me. He gave me a sad smile but it quickly faded.
"Yeah, I did. But she didn't love me back. Not like that anyway." Bucky said and I nodded.
"But you guys deserve each other. Really." Bucky said and nodded.
"She's an amazing woman." I said and Bucky smiled.
"She's a hell of a woman." He said with a little chuckle.
I swallowed hard and looked at him.
"I'm sorry I couldn't save you." I said and felt a lump in my throat. "On the train, I should have.."
"There was nothing you could do. I don't blame you." Bucky said with a tap on my shoulder. "But I'm happy to be back." He said and I smiled.
"Hope I'm not interrupting some intimate moment." Natasha said as she stepped into the room with a smirk on her lips. I smiled and Bucky looked embarrassed by her comment, not used to it, yet.
"I thought you were going to meet Clint?" I asked and she nodded.
"I did. And he got an urgent call to go home. They're fine." She said and I nodded. "But I have some news.." She said and looked at both me and Bucky more seriously.
"They know your alive. And they know that you're here, in New York that is." She said and Bucky's face twisted.
"What does that mean?" I asked and she took a breath.
"They're coming after you." She said and I squeezed my teeth together.
Natasha's POV
It was all so intimate but horrible at the same time. He kissed my neck as he stabbed my legs deep with a small knife. I couldn't move, I couldn't scream, I could only feel the pain. And the kisses. They went all over my body. Suddenly Bucky stopped stabbing my legs and started stabbing himself. Every bit of skin he could find. I laid still. Not stopping it, just letting it happen. He cried loud. Steve came into the room and screamed at me. Blamed me. He wrapped his hands around my arms and shock my body. When I didn't change, he moved to Bucky and dragged the knife out of his hands.
"This is for you." Steve said, looking at me, as he began cutting parts of his body. Slowly, slowly until blood dripped down on the floor. He reached his neck and took a last big cut and he fell to the floor with a puddle of blood surrounding him.
I sat up, and Steve's arms were around me before I even had a chance to wake up. As I realised that it was a dream, my heart slowed down a bit and I tried to even out my breaths.

"It wasn't that bad. It's fine." I said quietly as Steve kissed my cheek.
Suddenly the bedroom door burst open and Bucky stood in the entrance. He looked surprised and scared.
"Sorry.. I.." He stuttered as he looked at us. "I heard her scream." He said and Steve nodded.
"It's okay." He said and Bucky looked unsure. I wiped away a few tears from my cheek quickly.
"Her screams could be heard from your apartment Steve." He said and Steve nodded a little annoyed.
"Yes I'm aware of that." He said sadly and waited for him to leave. I wanted him out of the room. I didn't trust him to see me like this.
"Go or I'll slit your throat." I said with a more steadier voice. "And don't talk about me in third person." I said and Bucky nodded.
"I'm sorry." He said as he closed the door. Steve wrapped his arms tighter around me and I touched his arms and kissed his neck to make sure that there were no cuts anywhere.
"He only cares you know." Steve said and I stopped kissing his neck.
"I know he have helped me but I barley know him, at least not when he's like this." I said and Steve nodded.
"Give him a chance." He said and I sat beside him with my head on his shoulder.
"They're going to find out about him soon." I said and Steve sighed.
"I'm going to have to protect him. He's innocent." He said.
I swallowed hard and looked at my stab wounds on my legs.
Innocent.
Steve's POV
"Cap, we know that you know his location. We're doing this for the better good." Tony said as he stood up, looking at me.
"Better good? For who's better good?" I asked and he sighed.
"For us all. He's a fugitive." He said and I shock my head.
"He's my friend."
"So am I." Tony said as he walked towards the door.
"Think about it Cap. Do the right thing." Tony said and I stood up.
He walked out of the room.
"Maybe my right thing isn't your right thing." I shouted after him and put my hands on my hip. I took a deep breath and looked down at the floor.
"You okey?" A voice asked and I looked up. Natasha. I tried smiling a little and she saw my attempt.
"This is a mess." I said and she nodded.
"Maybe, just maybe, it would be better to turn him over. To.." Natasha said and I interrupted.
"So you're on his side?" I asked a little angrily and Natasha furrowed her eyebrows.
"This isn't about taking sides Rogers." She said and I shock my head. "This is bigger than that. Bucky's been in a lot of big shit and I know that he's your friend and all but he needs to step up and explain himself." She said and I kept shocking my head.

"Like you did?" I said and she looked at me with big eyes. She pressed her teeth together and raised her head a little.
"What's that supposed to mean?" She asked angry.
"Turning him over isn't right. He deserves a second chance." I said.
"Sure but this isn't all black and white Steve. This is more complicated than that." She said annoyed.
"I thought you cared about him too." I said and she put her hands on her hips.
"Why do you think I'm trying to help you?" She said and I raised my eyebrows.
"You call taking Tony's side helping me?" I asked and she muttered something and walked away with loud steps. "Natasha!" I shouted after her but she didn't turn around. I took a deep breath and drew my hand through my hair.
"I don't know what to do." I said and Bucky sat down across from me.
"I'm the one who should be doing something." Bucky said.
"They're coming after you. They might not believe you." I said and he nodded.
"Yeah I know. But what am I supposed to do?" He said and I shock my head.
"I don't know."
Natasha's POV
Another fucking nightmare woke me up. My own screams were my alarm clock this night as well. After I had calmed down a little, I realised that I had no arms around my body. I was alone. I felt cold and looked over at the spot where Steve usually laid. Empty. I hadn't let him in. I was angry at him. He just assumed that I was against him. All I wanted to do was help him. Bucky is facing some real mess and this is about to get much bigger.
I went out of my bedroom and poured myself a glass of orange juice. Who knows. I missed Steve's hands around my body and his kisses on my cheek. I suddenly became more quiet and I heard steps outside my door. I walked to my door as silently as I could and looked through the peek hole. Steve stood with his back against the wall across from my door with his hands in his hair. He looked worried. But he knew better than to knock. I felt a lot calmer, just knowing that he still cared. He suddenly sat down with his back towards my door and I did the same. It was as if I could feel his warmth through the cold door. We didn't need to say anything. We both knew.
Everything happened so quickly. It was as if it all expanded in just a couple of days and suddenly, Bucky was the main thing everywhere. All thing he had down came up and soon enough, there were talk about Captain America being not so good for America. I hadn't talked to Steve for six days. It hurt. It was as if I was gone again. My body ached for his touch.
The connection between us avengers was totally ruined. Tony and Steve were basically enemies.
I walked trough the corridor of the avengers tower towards a conference that Tony had scheduled as something came fast at me and I was pushed inside an extremely small room and pressed towards a wall. My first instinct was to fight back but a hand stopped my movements and I looked up. Steve.
"What the hell are you doing?" I asked angrily as he shut the door hard behind us.
"This is about to get real serious Natasha. Why the hell did you choose Tony's side?" He asked and I stood quiet for a while. "Nat?!"
"I owe you." I said and he became quiet. "I'm not choosing any side." I said and Steve looked at me.
"What are you saying?" He asked and I took a breath.
"Neither of you understands what's about to happen and I'm going to do everything I can to stop this." I said and Steve shock his head.
"Don't get in between." He said and I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Don't do this then." I said.
"I can't let you get hurt Natasha."
"And I can't let you die Rogers."
He looked into my eyes for a pretty long time before I dragged him closer and kissed him hard. He touched my body and I melted as his hands touched my skin. He pressed me harder to the wall and I kissed him more passionately, making up for all the lost days. I dragged up my dress and wrapped my legs around his waist and he touched my thighs. He kissed my collarbone as I tried dragging of his shirt. It fell to the floor and I touched his chest. I kissed his neck and down his shoulder as he dragged down the zipper of my dress and pulled it of. I kissed his lips and drew my hands through his hair. He kissed me back deeper and bit my lip a little. He put his hand on my face kissing me harder. My heart ached and I pressed him closer.

The Court of Souls?
What do we talk about tonight?~“How about a story?”~Fine by me. Which story? Hopefully a good one.~“There was once a lonely child in a world filled with myths, gods and demons. Only power counted there and the weak were worse than cattle. A world where survival of the fittest ruled.”~Was it strong then?~“No, but the child had a power. One that made him stand between light and darkness. Nothing could escape him, so he was shunned by his people.”~ What did he do? Did he fight his fate? Did he hide his power? What was it?~“Oh, he fought. He fought a lot. And no thing could escape his power. It was something that everyone had to live with.”~So he became a hero and changed the world?~»…”~Tell me.~“Nooo, that’s not how the story goes. This isn’t a story of a noble man, doing good amidst a sea of monsters. This is a story of a demon who was… kinder than the rest.”~A kind demon? How boring.~“I think it would be better if I tell the story, so you can judge for yourself.”~So tell the story!
