《I don't love》Part 13

Natasha's POV
Anger rushed through my head. How could I have just let him walk over me? No one's the boss of me. Not that I don't want his lips on mine. I do. It's ridiculous how weak I become in his presence. But I really felt for him. I never let anyone in. Well, expect for Clint. And now Steve. This has to get an end. It's my turn to boss him around.
Another knife hit the target across the room, right in the middle. Perfectly thrown. Like always.
"That's impressive." Steve said, he had just walked inside the room.
"Yeah you better watch out." I said seriously. He was surprised by the coldness in my voice. "What captain? Waiting for better days? Ain't gonna be any."
"What? Em.." He said walking over to get some boxing gloves. I smiled to myself. He surely did not expect my bitchiness. He started to hit a boxing bag that hang down from the roof. I sat down by the boxing rig behind him, watching his body move. His hands hit the bag with hard punches.
"Mmhm, that's a nice ass." I mumbled jokingly to myself. Not loud enough for Steve to hear. Thor walked in to the room and came to greet us. He was wearing a short sleeved shirt that showed of his big arms. I decided to have a little fun.
"Well, look at that." I said approaching Thor. I felt Steve's eyes on me. "I know you're a god but damn." I said feeling his muscles.
"Well thank you lady Natasha." Thor said smiling. Not understanding my flirty mood.
I smiled at him.
"Anytime." I said and walked back to my seat. I saw Steve turning his head back to the punching bag as fast as I laid my eyes on him. He started hitting the bag even harder. Thor went over to the other room as he got a phone call.

I watched Steve's intense movements. It was as if he had forgotten I was right there. I threw one of my knifes and it hit the punching bag, right over his head. He turned around surprised.
"What the hell Natasha?" He said in shock. I raised one eyebrow at him.
"Language, Captain." I said, smirking a little.
"Are you just going to sit there and throw knifes at me?" He said very annoyed. He sounded almost upset. He turned back to the bag and kept hitting it. I walked quietly over to him on my toes. Like a ballerina.
"Are you a little grumpy today, huh?" I whispered in his ear. He was yet again surprised by my approaching and looked at me a little.
"I'm not grumpy." He said and I laughed.
"No of course not." I said smirking. "You're just a little jealous."
He looked at me with a 'no I'm not' expression but he didn't say anything. Proof that I was right. I smiled and went a little closer to him. I leaned in for a kiss but didn't let his lips touch mine.
"You know, you had no right to kiss me on Christmas." I whispered.
"I'm sorry. Really." He said nervously, but he really meant it. "But I don't regret it."
"Of course not." I said.
"Stop playing games Natasha. Your waisting time." He said.
"Oh I'm waisting your time? I better go then." I said and was just about to take a step back when he took my arm.
"Not my time. Our time." He said as our lips met. Yet again, I had drowned in his presence and he bossed me around.
"I don't like it when you boss me around." I said between our kisses.

"Sure you do." He said smiling.
Of course I do.
Steve's POV
I went out from my bedroom to get some orange juice. I had a hard time falling asleep. Too many thoughts. I got a little scared when I noticed the perfectly created person on the couch.
"Natasha, what are you doing here?" I asked. She looked at me with rather sad eyes.
"I'm sorry. I was bored so I came here but realised you were asleep so I ended up on your couch." She said smirking. It was a fake smirk, anyone could tell.
"Do you want some orange juice?" I asked.
"No thank you." She chuckled as I poured myself a glass and sat down beside her.
"Did something happen?" I asked.
"No, same old." She said, referring to her not being able to sleep. Like ever.
We were quiet for a while.
"Why is your coach turned towards the windows and not the Tv?" She asked and I looked around the living room.
"Well, I found the view over New York more entertaining than the Tv." I said smiling.
"You sure are patriotic." She said laughing a little.
"Oh stop it." I said.
She laid her head on my shoulder and looked out through the windows. It was dark and oddly enough, you could even see some stars in the sky. The buildings were lighten up but it looked quiet. Like we were the only ones in the world.
"You can sleep here if you want." I said and she wrapped her arms around my stomach. She laid her head on my chest and I wrapped my arms around her body.
"Thank you." She mumbled quietly. She was very tired and fell asleep at once. I looked at her face. Beautiful. I kissed her head and slowly, I fell asleep as well.
The glass of orange juice stood lonely at the table. The yellow liquid filled the glass to the top. Sometimes, you need to find something else to cover your needs. And I have.

Apollyon's Curse
Within the pages of folklore and fantasy, tales of people who chase after the dream of eternity, of living forever, rarely find a happy ending. They are either struck by the grim truth of reality, give up, and return to mortality or face a ghastly realization of their wishes. The latter often the worse fate, as they come to realize, only far too late, that what they sacrificed was worth far more than the time they gained. Ultimately, the common thread in these stories is that “immortality is as much a curse as it is a blessing”. People either realize it early and give up or are doomed to inevitably face its consequences. In the world Enrich lives in, that saying does hold merit. Every pathway towards eternal life has shackles of its own. They bring those high above down to the ground, evening the playing field. It is thanks to these fundamental laws that ambitious mortals are able to defy the heavens and achieve immortality themselves. The variety of methods result in each of these bindings varying in intensity and degree of freedom. Enrich’s path doesn't break this trend. Though, after what he did to himself, most wouldn’t even consider him a living thing anymore. On the day of his ascension, a world’s worth of souls were melted and recast. On that day, the human’s path had reached its conclusion, recast into Apollyon. An artifact, a weapon, is eternal, after all. As for the curse? The payment will be made, as it must. So why not offload the curse to someone else? Mortals throw their lives away for all manner of petty reasons, noble or otherwise, especially in desperation. Eventually, someone will be willing to foot the bill. Most will if given the chance. The bait is far too tempting, after all. Power, status, knowledge. All at their fingertips. If only they say “yes”. And Apollyon is very willing to help any lost souls. If they give up everything in return, of course.
