Chapter 8

"Now what?" Evy said after a moment of silence.

"Now we get the bastard!" Sebastian said thumping his fist on the table.

Evy just blinked her eyes "How?"

"The Americans owe us a favor and I plan to collect it" He told her.

"I see" She leaned in to her chair and further prodded "What's the plan?"

"We send in our folks and grab the bastard" He added.

"On Lockbourne territory?" She asked.

"Yes" He responded.

"And what about them? What do we do to the Lockbourne pack?"

"Raze it to the ground!" He gritted his teeth "They were hiding the bastard and we show them what happens when they fuck with us"

She sighed "How many of the pack members reside in the alpha housing?"

"What?" He asked confused.

"How many people Sebastian? How many people do we plan to kill? How many woman, how many children?" She asked.

Sebastian narrowed his eyes in displeasure "Is there a point in there somewhere?"

"I am not comfortable in taking innocent lives" She stated.

"They are directly responsible for what happened to the Colorado packs...They were not concerned when innocent lives were being slaughtered." He stated.

"So?" she asked "We behave like them? I think not, there should be a difference us and them."

"What do you propose?" he asked her finally.

"Get Charles, dead or alive it does not matter, that man will not talk. Remember I met him, he is a man who believes in his convections and he will not break" She told him. "Grab him and get out of there."

"And if we find resistance from the pack members?" He asked.

"That you can take care of" She said "We don't need an elaborate operation Sebastian, we already have men who infiltrated the pack once without notice and they can do it again, send those men to take care of Charles. Alive or dead up to you." She told him.

"Alive, definitely alive...we have a conversation long overdue" Sebastian stated.

She shrugged "Can we do that, can we just try to grab him and get out rather than scorch the pack down?"

Sebastian thought about it "It can be done....but I still want them to burn."

"Get Charles, we can use him as a leverage in the World council meeting."

"Yeah...let me tell you we will not get anywhere...Gordon will stonewall the whole thing." Sebastian informed her.

"Let's see...any idea when we want to set that up?" She asked.

"Next week or week after...We need to make it coincide with the other thing" he remained her.

Her stomach dropped, other thing as he simply put was to execute all the errant alphas that were giving them trouble.

"How are the negotiations coming along?" She asked him. Alex and Adrian were negotiating terms with alpha's to make them get it line or at least that's what they thought.

Sebastian just shrugged "Didn't check"

"I will follow up with Alex, ask him to wrap it up in a week" She told him and looked at him. Both of them knew what would happen at the end of the week. None of those alphas would walk out alive.

There was a moment of silence and then Evy asked Sebastian "When do you want to do this?" she was asking about their plan to grab Charles.

"ASAP. Need to check on a few things but we have everyone in place. Maybe a day or two, I still want to get the whole pack." He grumbled.

"I know you do" Evelyn told him "But for now, can we try it my way please?" She begged him.

"Listen, Lockbourne's are not going to sit and do nothing once they know about our grab job, they will hit us back and hit us back hard." He cautioned.

"What do you think they would do?" She asked.

"Not sure, but they will hit us somewhere it will hurt us, maybe try take out your old alpha Nick." Sebastian guessed.

"Better we provide him some back up then, what's the status of his pack by the way?" She asked. She had not been able to talk to her mother since a while and wondered how the pack was doing. She had deliberately stopped talking as she could no longer stand their sympathy every time she spoke to them.

"We have two hundred men stationed at your old pack they are helping them train and rebuild, also coordinating with the left over wolves in Colorado to help them rebuild under Nick's command. It's progressing well." He told her.

She nodded satisfied.

"Did you know your mom reopened the diner?" He asked her.

"She did?" Evelyn smiled at that, her mother loved her diner.

"Yep. Two days ago. The word is, it's doing pretty well."

She nodded. She was happy for her mother.

"Ok. Can you put the plan in place for Charles and we take a look at it?" She asked.

"Will do, but it might have to be very quick" He told her, he did not want them running around chasing their own tails on this.

"Agreed" She told him.

"We will have to tell the twins" He told her.

"I will tell them" She told.

She knocked on the open office door of Adrian.

He had been peering in to his laptop.

"Hello" she greeted him when he looked up.

"Oh..hi!" he said surprised, She showing up at his office was a first.

"Can I come in?" she asked.

Yes...sure...please do, have a seat" He said lost. Not sure how to proceed.

She came in and sat down opposite to him.

"I just wanted to drop in and check on the progress of the negotiations" She told him.

"Um..yeah...we got most of the alphas in line..." He told her. He was still confused at why she was here, she would have preferred to go to Alex. Unless...

"So can we wrap it up in a week's time?" she asked him.

"Yeah, sure. I don't see why not" He said.

"I want this out of the way, we have bigger problems to deal with"

"Like?" he prodded.

"Charles" She told him "We located him in Lockbourne's territory.

"Gordons?" Adrian asked surprised. Gordon was not stupid enough to directly implicate himself.

"Nope, his cousin. Patrick, where we suspected he was all along" She told him and handed over the pictures Sebastian gave her earlier.

Adrian looked at the pictures "That's him?" he asked her and she nodded in confirmation.

"How did we get them?" he asked.

"Roma and Sebastian had sent in an infiltration team in to Montana to do some reconnaissance on Patrick's land and they hit gold." She told him.

"You do realize if they get caught there will be hell to pay" he told her.

"It was Roma's and Sebastian's decision back whenever they conceived the plan and besides what's done is done" She told him. She hadn't come up with this plan.

"So, I am assuming you just didn't come here to just show me the pictures" he asked, knowing there was more.

"You are right. Sebastian wants to grab him and burn the Lockbourne's pack down" She told him.

He waited for a heartbeat and asked her "And what do you think?"

"I am ok with grabbing him, killing everyone else...is off the menu for now. At least I convinced him to hold off"

"So you want to grab Charles?" He asked her.

"He is in sight, we have the resources...I don't see a reason why not. Unless you have a good reason." She told him.

"That is why you are here? For second opinion?" He asked, still trying to figure out why she was talking to him and not to Alex.

"No and yes. I wanted you guys to know, that we were not planning something behind your back and at the same time will want to know your take on this." She added.

"I think it's extremely risky, there are a lot of factors that could go wrong and we would be in a bigger mess than we are."

"I hear a but..." she told him.

"Yes...but it is too tempting not to try something, we have an opportunity in our hands, one we might not get any time soon again."

"I agree" She added.

"So, are we doing it?" He asked.

"Yes" She confirmed.

"Ok. When?" He asked.

"Soon. Sebastian is on it." She told him.

"I want to be on it too" he told her.

"Be my guest" She told him.

"Are you going to tell Alex?" He asked.

Awkward silence

"I was hoping you could tell him" She told him.

Silence from him.

"We had a disagreement" She told him.

Did he even want to know? He wondered. No, definitely not, it was between Alex and her to work it out.

"I will tell him but he is not going to be a happy camper" he told her. They knew his position.

"And you?" She asked him.

"This is not the best time to risk stuff like this but again opportunities like this seldom present themselves over and over again" he explained.

"So, you are in favor?" She asked just to confirm.

"Yes" he said after a heartbeat.

"Good" she told him "I will leave it to you to fill in Alex and I want you guys to be there when Sebastian comes up with a plan"

She nodded in agreement and picked up the pictures to leave.

"I have one question though" he asked. "You told earlier Sebastian wanted to destroy the whole pack, do you know how he planned to do that?"

She paused to think "Actually, no" She told him.

"I would be curious how he planned to do that" Adrian told her.

"We can always ask him when we meet him" she told Adrian.

The next day, they were all in her office Alex looked extremely uncomfortable and was avoiding looking at her and she was doing the same.

"Ok. Our guys are ready for infiltration" Sebastian told.

"What's the plan?" Adrian asked. "We have ten folks, we storm the safe house grab the target and get out. Then our guys make it to Colorado in to Nick's territory with our target. Form there we airlift him to Roma." He explained the entire operation.

"Ten folks is a small team" Adrian commented "Why don't we send in reinforcement's from our guys stationed in Nick's pack?" Adrian asked.

"It will take time and there is always a chance that a bigger group will be easier to be spotted and besides these guys are already in the Lockbourne's land all they have to do is get him and get out."

"What kind of resistance are we expecting?" Adrian asked.

"Our reconnaissance expect twenty to twenty five wolves including Charles"

"Numbers are in their favor" Adrian added.

"But we have element of surprise and guns. Our guys are armed with standard infiltration gear, we can use them both to our advantage to take out most of them." Sebastian told.

Adrian sat back satisfied and gave a nod to Evelyn, showing his agreement to the plan.

"Alex?" she asked. Speaking to him for the first time.

"I think it's a bad idea. The Lockbourne will not take this quietly they will strike us back and I don't think we are ready for an open confrontation"

"We have Charles in sight Alex" Evelyn told him softly.

"And we will have him in sight again, now is not the time" He insisted.

"When, then?" she asked "When do you think we can do it?" She asked.

"Not now..for when...I don't know" he said avoiding her gaze.

"I see" she said and looked back at Sebastian.

"Sebastian, you wanted to take the entire Lockbourne pack down as well, isn't it?"

"Yes" he said.

"Adrian? What do you think?"

"Let's hold off on attacking the pack that will be considered a direct act of war" Adrian added.

"And infiltration and abduction will not be considered as one?" Alex jumped in "There will be dead bodies lying around after our little operation"

"Yes, but we can always dangle Charles in front of the world council, I am sure they would understand considering the recent circumstances" Adrian added in.

"And just out of curiosity, how did you want to do it...take the pack down I mean?" Adrian asked Sebastian. He was really curious on how such firepower could be arranged.

"We have an order of twelve apaches ready to be delivered to us. We can fit them with weapons from American Avionics and have a friendly stopover in Montana, before we fly them over to Colorado to be packed and shipped to us." Sebastian said.

"Shit Sebastian!" Adrian said "You wanted to use attack helicopters in Montana inside US airspace and think no one would notice?!" he asked with disbelief.

"No, they would notice and that is where the CIA would come in. They owe us for the screw up they caused in Lakeview" That was the first operation run by CIA using FBI trying to grab Charles on behest of the Roma government and they had fucked that one up.

"The CIA will let you fire the helicopters that they are selling us in their territory?" Adrian asked in disbelief.

"Given the right circumstances you will be surprised what the CIA can get away with."

"Are you crazy?! They would never agree to it." Adrian said with absolute conviction.

"You are wrong" Sebastian said calmly "They already did"

Adrian raised his eyebrow in disbelief "What? What do you mean they agreed?"

"I spoke to our point man in CIA, we got a go-ahead to do some field testing in a certain forest area of Montana." Sebastian told him.

"And this certain area would be?"

"On top of Lockbourne's territory" Sebastian sinisterly smiled.

"And they will let you fire missiles and bullets? On to the ground and kill people??" Adrian could not believe what he heard.

"Who told about anyone firing anything?" Sebastian said.

"But...then what?" Adrian asked confused.

"There would be an unfortunate gas leak and explosion in the community of people residing there, causing their deaths...at least that's what the Sherriff's office will say."

"Are you serious, something like this cannot be hidden!"

Evelyn stopped the discussion "Listen, we are not doing this so all this discussion is a moot point"

"For now, we are going ahead with our plan of grabbing Charles. Are we in agreement?" She asked.

"Yes" Sebastian Said.

"Yes" Adrian added.

She looked at Alex who was sitting in silence.

"You know how I feel" He said, got up and walked out.

Evelyn Sighed and looked at the other two men and added "Go ahead. Make it happen."

They nodded vigorously, getting up and walking out of the room.

The man's phone buzzed and he looked at the e-mail that came. His eyes scanned the message and looked around the room to his men waiting.

"Gentlemen, it's a go. Lock and load we move out in an hour."
