《Trouble | Harry Styles (REVISING)》Fourteen

I sat on the edge of my bed and watched as Lilly and Noelle tried on their dresses for the party. It had been a week since I found out about my pregnancy and it was like the effects had turned on full blast. I put on a pair of jeans and a regular black t-shirt with a cardigan, throwing my hair in a half bun and ignoring my makeup. I almost didn't go, but Lilly practically dropped to her knees and begged me.
I trailed behind Lilly as we made our way inside, making a beeline for the kitchen. She handed me a cup of water and served herself a shot and a mixed drink. I stood around, chatting with people and watching everyone have fun. I could feel myself already getting a headache, pinching the bridge of my nose.
I finally spotted Liam, he was walking through the front door and I immediately made my way over and gave him a hug. "You alright?" He asked, taking a look at me.
I nodded, "Yeah, I'm just tired."
After about an hour of standing around, I made my way into the living room and sat down on the couch laying my head back and closing my eyes, my temples throbbed. Lilly, Noelle and Zayn stood close by, enough that I could hear their conversation about school.
I suddenly felt someone sit next to me, placing their hand on my thigh. I opened my eyes, expecting Liam to be sitting there, but it was Harry. I quickly pushed his hand away and stood up, turning to him.
Harry gave me a horrified look as I stood there, about to say something. Before I could, a thought came into my head. Why was he so horrified to see me reject him?
"What do you think you're doing?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know it was a big deal." He argued, standing up. I took a step back, but it still felt like he towered over me.
"Just stay away from me." I warned, shooting him a glare before I spun on my heel. I stormed off toward the kitchen, but turned for the front door at the last minute. I ached for an alcoholic drink, but I couldn't do that to this baby. I clenched my fists as I stepped out into the brisk air, my breath came out as fog.

The door opened and Harry appeared, he paused for a moment before closing it and stepping up next to me. "Emma, I—"
"Do you not remember what you said last weekend?" I cut him off, pulling my cardigan around me tighter.
"I'll admit, I was a bit drunk." He sighed, putting his hands in his jacket pockets.
"We were playing never have I ever and you told us to put a finger down if we slept with more than two people in our friend group. Then, you told me to put a finger down." I closed my eyes and when I opened them, I could feel the burning of tears forming.
"I said that?" He asked, turning to me. I tilted my head toward him and met his eyes. He looked surprised.
"In front of everyone." I broke the contact and turned to a car that was driving past.
"I'm sorry, Emma. I would never say that, I don't know why I did." I felt his hand grab my shoulder, his forehead pressed against my temple. When he breathed, all I could smell was mint from his toothpaste. He was sober.
Suddenly, I felt an intense desire to tell him about the baby. After all, he was the father and had a right to know despite having a complicated life.
"I need to tell you something." I blurted. He kept his forehead against me, his hand gripped the crook of my neck. I felt my stomach drop, my lips stayed glued shut when I tried to spit it out.
"What?" He asked, his breath warmed my cheek. Here it goes.
"I'm pregnant."
I watched the fog from my breath disperse into the night sky, I imagined that two word sentence go with it. The silence was loud. He pulled away from me and my eyes widened, snapping in his direction. He was looking at me with an unreadable expression, taking two steps away from me.
I wanted to hit the rewind button, make this conversation never happen. His face went from unreadable to completely terrified, but he never stopped looking at me. "Please..." I whispered.

"Are you sure?" He finally said, his eyebrows knitting together.
"I took a test the night of Zayn's party." I nodded.
He stood there, the cogs in his mind were turning. I almost opened my mouth to say something, but he stopped me, "I'm sorry, I need some time to think."
I nodded, my eyes shifted to my shoes as he slowly walked past me. Instead of completely walking off, I felt him place a delicate kiss on my temple, his hand cupped the other side of my cheek. I watched as he walked toward his car and drove off, my stomach turned.
As soon as I went back inside, I felt myself get sick. I practically sprinted up the stairs and scurried into the bathroom. When will this nightmare end? I shuffled out of the bathroom and found my way into Niall's room, curling up at the end of the bed and pulling out my phone. I swiped through pictures from the last few months, scrolled through Instagram, anything to keep my mind busy.
"Emma?" A voice asked, I felt myself jump and my eyes flew open. My phone was dead in my hand, I was in the same position I was in while scrolling on it. I must have fallen asleep. I sat up and looked at Niall, who was shirtless and holding his door handle as if he had just walked in.
"I am so sorry." I said, sleepily. "I didn't mean to fall asleep."
"You scared the daylights out of me." He sighed, holding his chest. I stumbled to my feet and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. "I thought you left hours ago."
"Where's Lilly?" I asked, hugging myself to stop myself from shivering. I did that when I was tired.
"She's downstairs, the party is still going. I just came to get a new shirt." He laughed, pulling a shirt off the ground and smelling it.
I smiled and shuffled out of his room and down the stairs, there was half as many people here as before I went upstairs. I spotted Lilly in the living room, she was talking with Zayn and another guy I didn't recognize. I scooted up to them, Lilly turned to me and gasped.
"You're still here! Where the fuck have you been?" She laughed, wrapping her arm around me.
"I fell asleep in Niall's room." My voice rasped from just waking up. Zayn lightly nudged my arm with his fist and winked, making me shake my head and mouth 'No'.
"Why'd you do that?" She asked, releasing me from her drunken grip.
"I guess I was tired." I shrugged.
"I thought you left with Harry. You both disappeared at the same time." Zayn said, taking a drink from his beer. That's when I remembered what happened only a few hours ago.
"Shit, Lilly can I talk to you privately?" I grabbed her arm and lead her to the nearest door, which turned out to be an office turned into a workout room. I shut the door and let out a groan.
"What's happening?" She asked, holding a hand out. I grabbed it.
"I told Harry about the baby."
"You did what?!" She exclaimed, grabbing my arms. "Oh my God, what did he say?"
"He left! He said he needed time to think and then left." I whined.
"You should have told me you were going to tell him, I would have helped you come up with something!" She whined.
"Like what? Get him a baby shirt that says 'Happy Father's day'?" I gave her a look of disgust. Her jaw dropped open, but then she shut it and crossed her arms.
"Is that all he said?" She asked.
"Yeah, but he did kiss my forehead." As soon as I said it, her eyes widened and mouth dropped open, again.
"Aw, Emmalee!" She squealed. "I better be the Godmother!"
