《My Dark Knight》Epilogue

Epilogue
"You two monsters! Get here this instant!" Sapphire yelled as she ran down the stairs. Those two would be the death of her. Making her run around day and in and day out. But she would have it no other way.
"You know you're not to be running about. What if you hurt yourself?" A warm voice whispered in her ear as familiar arms snaked around her waist to her protruding belly. Sapphire leaned into him, her back against his front.
"Your sons-"
"Our sons." Tristan corrected with amusement. Whenever they annoyed her they suddenly became only his.
Sapphire rolled her eyes.
"Our sons, are causing me to run about. If they behaved, I would not have to be on my feet.
"They are young lads, let them be." Tristan said lightly as he began to massage the stress away from her shoulders. His little wife worried a wee too much.
Sapphire scowled.
"They have to eat-"
"You and your eating." Tristan interjected with a chuckle. He should have known. She wouldn't have ran after them for anything else other than food.
"Eating is good. They need to grow." Sapphire said through narrowed eyes. Although the sternness was gone from her voice, a massage did wonders to a person. She could feel her muscles begin to relax. This wasn't good, she wouldn't be able to be stern with her children.
"I never said it was bad, love." Tristan said as he placed a tender kiss on the back of her neck. Tristan was just about to turn her around for a proper kiss when his wife was suddenly gone.
"Alexander! Don't you dare!" Sapphire screamed as she began to run towards them.
"Love, you are not to run." Tristan's fear filled voice reached Sapphire's ears. But she cared not, if Alexander got a hand on her children.....
"Sapphire!"
Sapphire ignored her dear husband, her poor children....
"Alexander, you git! Put them down!" Sapphire shrieked.
Alexander glanced up, a wicked smile upon his sweaty face.
"It seems your mamma is angry, what shall we do?" Alexander questioned as he jumped on the table, the two lads in each arm.
"Mama is pre....pre...preeteending to be angry. She doesna get angry fast."
"Are ye certain, lad? I doona want to die. Yer mother isna to be trifled with. Scary woman."
"Me mother isna scary!"
"Alexander, you brute!" Sapphire hollered louder as she reached the table.
"Christian, Edward, I want you two down, now!"
"Mamma!" They both whined in sync.
Alexander grinned.
"They shall be fine, love." Tristan soothed as he came up behind her. Alexander loved irritating her. He would have a word with him on the matter.

Christian and Edward, both dark haired, silver eyed, identical twin boys, looked towards their mother.
"Mamma, pweez."
"Mamma, pweez." Alexander joined in.
"I don't trust you, Alexander." Sapphire said skeptically. Currently, her boys were hanging by their chubby little legs, their heads dangling in mid air.
"Don't hold them that way." Sapphire snapped.
"I never took you as the worrying type." Alexander said thoughtfully, deliberately throwing both boys in the air and catching them before they could fall.
"Alexander!"
Four different voiced screamed his name at once. Meanwhile, Christian and Edward laughed with joy. Their chubby cheeks a beautiful shade of red while their eyes were alight with happiness.
"Again! Again!" They shouted with glee.
"Christian, Edward, tis time for you to practice your swords." Sapphire reminded them.
They both jumped out of Alexander's arms, running towards their mother. If there was anything they loved more than being thrown in the air, it was the art of swordsmanship.
"Mamma," began Christian, "we like," continued Edward. "Uncle Alex." They both finished off together.
Sapphire rolled her eyes at their antics, a tender smile upon her lips.
"I know you do, my sweet. Uncle Alex is very fond of annoying mamma."
Alexander chuckled, jumping down from the table. He couldn't help himself.
"Could ye make me pie, please?" Alexander requested. His eyes widening as he smiled charmingly.
"After you almost killed my children?" Sapphire snorted.
"Please."
Sapphire laughed, rolling her eyes as Alexander made his eyes grow wider. She had three boys, not two.
"Of course."
"Mamma, are we going to train with you or with papa?" Christian asked while tugging on her skirts, her attention had been away from them for far too long.
"Papa, darling." Sapphire answered as she bend down and gave each one of her sons a kiss on the cheek.
Christian turned towards Edward, "swords?"
Edward smiled mischievously. He leaned in to whisper in Christian's ear. In Edwards eyes, he was whispering, in everyone else's, he was very loud.
"They are in the sword room. We should attack uncle Alex."
Alex spat out the food he was eating.
"Ye treacherous, betraying berks!"
"Do not call my sons names." Sapphire scolded, looking at Alexander through narrowed eyes.
"Did you not hear them?!" Alexander exclaimed.
"Of course I did. Who do you think they learned it from?" Sapphire questioned with an arched brow.
"Alright." Alexander grumbled.
"Do you want your pie?" Sapphire threatened.
"They are children, Alexander, they pick up on the most oddest of things." Tristan said as his children ran towards his sword room.
"Unfortunately, they have barbarians as uncles."
"I can feel the love you hold for me in yer heart." Alexander said sarcastically.

Tristan shrugged uncaringly.
"Would you care for a stroll?" Tristan asked Sapphire. He wanted to be alone with his wife, if only for a moment. With the new babe coming and the twins, he felt as if he was sharing her a wee too much.
"You do not need to train the boys?" Sapphire asked with a quirk of her brow.
"They will take ages finding their wooden swords. We have time." Tristan said as he leaned in to give her a kiss on the lips.
Hand in hand, they both walked out the front doors, towards the forest. It was a bright, sunny day. Summer was beginning to make itself known.
"What do you think it will be?" Tristan asked softly, enjoying the chirping of the birds while his fingers were tangled with his wife's.
"I think it shall be a girl."
"A lassie?" Tristan asked in awe.
Sapphire laughed softly.
"Aye. Are you worried, my lord?" Sapphire teased as he pulled her towards him. Her belly making it slightly difficult to crush her against him.
"Terrified." Tristan whispered against her lips. He felt a soft kick.
Sapphire's bright eyes stared into his astonished ones.
"I do not think she likes the idea of you being afraid, my lord." Sapphire whispered.
"This is the first time she has kicked." She added as an afterthought.
Tristan's eyes glazed over with tears as he bend down until he was level with her stomach.
"Ye have a temper, do ye not? What shall we do with ye?" He whispered before placing a soft kiss upon Sapphire's stomach.
"Uncle John said my father had quite a temper."
"It's always the mother's side who has the horrible traits." Tristan said teasingly.
Sapphire hit him on the chest. Tristan laughed heartily, hugging her ever closer.
"Uncle John should be coming on the morrow or the day after with Isabella."
Tristan groaned.
"Why is that brat coming?"
"Tristan." Sapphire admonished.
"Alright. At least Xavier is coming along. How is their daughter? Isabelle, was it?"
Sapphire tried to hide her smirk.
"Yes, her daughter, Isabelle, will be coming along."
"Wonderful. Does the child have any of Xavier's traits?"
"She has his eyes." Sapphire answered.
Isabelle was an exact replica of her mother in her action. Although the child was adorable, she could be quite a handful.
Tristan gave Sapphire a lingering kiss upon the lips.
"Tristan, we must return. The boys are expecting us." Sapphire tried to reason as she felt her laces being undone.
"They can wait. If that meddling friend of yours arrives, I will not be able to spend anytime with you."
"Tristan...." Sapphire protested weakly as he began to trail soft, butterfly kisses down her neck.
"The water should be warm, when was the last time we made love in the river?" Tristan murmured in her ear, already beginning to carry her towards said river.
Sapphire didn't answer, already lost in his seduction.
"We won't be long, I promise." Tristan said softly.
"Tristan...the boys..."
"They can wait, love. Alexander will keep them occupied." Tristan said in a hushed whisper as he finished unlacing her gown.
"What if someone sees us?" Sapphire asked worriedly as she bit her lip.
"I will kill them." Tristan answered simply as he finished removing his own clothing before lifting Sapphire and walking into the river.
They splashed each other with water, acting as two children rather than the parents of two young boys expecting their third child. They made love as lovers would, starved of each other's company and affection. Tristan kept true to his words, through his action and through his words, each and every single day, he proved to her just how much he loved her, how much she meant to him.
He adored his children, showering them with care and affection. Waking up in the middle of the night to care for them as Sapphire slept on. There were times they fought and bickered, but rather than drifting apart, their arguments brought them closer together, their love for each other only growing. Through hardship and ease, they stood together. In old age they were each other's constant companion. Through death did they part, only to be reunited in paradise, where love and happiness are everlasting and deceit and cruelness are unwelcome.
