"Wolves!"

And then there was chaos.

Women and children ran helter-skelter. The former searching for their young ones and the latter, in desperate search of finding a safe place where no animal could harm them. The Vampires didn't fight against the werewolves as they couldn't risk revealing their true identity to the humans.

Arian searched for Alaska in the crowd and found that she was looking at him, fearing her life once again. He mentally told her to move aside without uttering a single word. "Okay, everyone! I need you to step aside and make way for the wolves so that they may pass without harming everyone!" Arian shouted to the crowd. She did as she was told and so did the others.

A pack of nearly 20 black wolves with a single white streak running down their face, walked through the people. Black fur as dark as the rumours about them and wild, feral eyes daring the people to make a move. The werewolves enjoyed the fear that the humans emitted but focused on the task at hand. Everything went smoothly until the leader of the pack stopped exactly in front of the stall opposite to the one Alaska was standing at and pulled down the table cloth.

A two year old girl was sitting under the table, playing with a maroon shrug. The wolf growled. "My baby! Someone save her!" A woman cried out as Arian held her back. Fearing that the wolf would harm the baby, Alaska picked up a wooden box and threw it at the wolf's head.

The leader of the wolves growled.

He lept into the air, attacking her.

Only, he never did.

The crowd gasped as Arian threw himself in front of Alaska. The wolf's claws sliced through Arian's torso, ripping open his white silk shirt. Arian groaned and fell to his knees, holding his chest and coughing. Realising who it is that he actually attacked, the leader of the wolves left and ran back into the forest along with his pack.

Ally gasped and knelt down next to Arian, taking his face in her hands. "You idiot!" She whispered. One of Arian's guards helped him get into the car and they drove back to the castle. No one bothered checking on the king because everyone knew that a small scratch wouldn't even hurt him. It wasn't like a werewolf scratch was fatal. Everyone but Alaska knew that. Only Adrian, the eldest cousin, came to check on his cousin.

Because he needed some entertainment.

"What was the reason of the attack?"

"Apparently, the werewolf Queen has run away so the king has sent his warriors to find her and take her back to him safely," Arian groaned.

"Milan ran? Damn, she's closer than I thought," Adrian muttered to himself.

"Oh my god! How are you not dead yet? That must hurt like a bitch," Adrian said surprisedly, lightning the mood. Arian clenched his jaw when he saw his cousin. Adrian took every opportunity to embarrass his cousin in front of Alaska. "Is it fatal?" Alaska asked, tensed. They both heard her heart beat speed up. Arian felt warmth. Why did she care about him? And why was he pleased that she cared?

"It is if the wound doesn't get cleaned immediately. I'll call a maid. I mean she has pretty blonde hair and a great body that any man would get tempted by but someone needs to tend to my dear cousin," Arian sighed dramatically.

Alaska frowned. The thought of someone flirting with Arian in front of her pissed her off. "Let me give her a call," Adrian added, removing his phone and pretending to search for a number.

"I'll do it!"

Arian threw his head back in defeat as his cousin grinned victoriously. He was one hell of a matchmaker. "I'll leave you two alone then." After Adrian left, Alaska walked up to Arian shyly and touched his shoulder. The two of them stared into each other's eyes. Arian's eyes were the colour of the see on a summer afternoon.

Enticing.

Her hand touched his silk shirt and dragged it down his arms, feeling the muscles of his arms. He took in a deep breath when she let the shirt fall to the floor and stepped closer, her hand running down his abs. Until, it reached the hem of his jeans. He cleared his throat and smirked. She blushed, coming out of her state of mind.

She picked up the cotton and put some of the detol on it. The moment it touched his skin, he hissed and backed away. Ally bit back a smile as she looked at him in amusement, walking closer to him. She made him lie down on the bed as she pressed the cotton to his skin. She blew onto the wound, reducing the stinging sensation. This was the only time Arian willingly let someone put him through discomfort.

He hated human medicine.

"Do you take pleasure in my pain, kitten?" He groaned as she leant closer to him, blowing on his upper chest. She looked up, still in the same position, with innocent eyes. "What's that?" Ally said, reaching out to pick up a paper item. A paper sword. Ally giggled. "Anyone who says that a pen is mightier than a sword has clearly not been stabbed with one," Arian murmured with a slight smile.

"All yours, kitten."

He meant the sword, she reminded herself.

"Sir, we've managed to cancel Alaska Ivanov off the suspect list. The man said that the person that entered the house was tall. There are still many names to cut off," Detective Lockwood told her senior.

The captain nodded, thinking deeply. "Shay, this includes high profiled suspects. Don't let the list get out even by mistake. How's Miss Waters holding up?" The captain asked.

Shay and the other officers exchanged glances. She sighed. "Sir, the evening Miss Waters said she had gone to college but returned with mud on the shoes. We believe that whoever took Noah Waters chose the route through the forest. So far the sister is our prime suspect."

"What about him?"

"An informant said that Miss Ivanov spent the night with His Highness. Noah and the king got into a fight the next morning. There's motive here too," Lockwood replied softly, afraid of being heard by one of the palace guards.

Personally, she believed that Arian could do no wrong, he was a good and honest man. "We don't have very long, detective. Put the best men in charge of the investigation. Make this a top priority case," the captain ordered while looking at the list of suspects.
