《Pied Piper | {K.NJ}》Chapter 13

You stared at your brother, waiting for him to break the silence. He told you that he had something important to tell you after dinner. And it had been about an hour since both of you had finished eating.
The situation was getting rather awkward and you couldn't help but feel uncomfortable as time ticked by. You noticed your brother was feeling nervous to start the conversation and had been staring at his own hands.
Sitting there in the same room and not saying anything just made you overthink. You couldn't take it anymore so you tapped on the table to get his attention.
"Oppa..."
He glanced up at you and tilted his head to show that he's listening.
"Are you human?"
He blinked his eyes and gaped.
"W-what are you talking... you knew?"
You bit the bottom of your lips and nodded your head slowly.
"I-I'm Sorry, (Y/N). I was going to tell you but-"
"It's okay, oppa," you cut him off and his shoulders dropped heavily. He had his gaze down and couldn't bring himself to maintain eye contact with you.
"You must be disappointed in me."
"Why would I be? You are the best oppa I could ask for and I'm thankful that you actually stayed with me all this while."
"But I kept it from you all this while."
You let out a small sigh and reached to hold his hands in between yours. He looked at your hand and then at you.
"You can tell me now, oppa. I want to know."
"Okay I plan to tell you today as well. You see that day of your parents' car accident, me and Hoseok were-"
"Wait... Hoseok oppa? He's not human too?"
"Ah Yeah Hoseok is a grim reaper."
"That bundle of sunshine?!"
You stood up and Seokjin looked at you surprised. You cleared your throat and sat down.
You really didn't expect Hoseok to be a grim reaper. He's too bright and bubbly to even be considered related to anything that had to do with darkness. He literally screams when he sees lizard so this was a very shocking news to you.
"So basically this is what happened."

Min received a report stating that there will be a car accident at midnight near the intersection of the road. It stated that none of the people caught in the accident survived.
He passed it to Hoseok and explained to him the situation.
"Hoseok, you will need to go alone today."
"What about you, hyung?"
Min was about to say something but he didn't. He looked at the bouquet of yellow carnations that he was on his table. He bit the insides of his mouth as he reflected on the meaning behind the flowers.

"I need to attend the meeting... regarding the issue about me and...you know."
Hoseok noticed Min's expression dropped slightly.
"I see. It's okay. I'll do it."
Min thanked him and during their conversation, Seokjin came in the room with two boys who were wearing their school uniforms. One younger and slightly shorter than the other.
"Yoongi!"
A young boy in his teens with brown fluffy hair and big eyes ran to Min with his arms wide open. He pounced onto Min which made the devil almost fall. If it was someone else, that person would definitely be receiving death glare and cold treatment. However, Min giggled and messed the boy's hair up adorably.
"How was school, Kookie?"
"It was fun! Namjoon hyung answered all the questions that teacher asked. He's so smart."
Min glanced at Namjoon who was standing beside Seokjin. He smiled at him and the boy gave him back a bow and a smile.
"What about you?"
"I, on the other hand, hehe fell asleep during the lesson without getting caught at all."
"That's my boy!"
Min earned a smack on the back of his head from Seokjin.
"That's not how you should be teaching him!"
Min rubbed the back of his head and glared at Seokjin. Hoseok laughed at the two. He spread his arms out and Namjoon and Jungkook ran to him. He gave the two a tight hug, making them laugh in the process.
"Aigoo my Namjoonie And Jungkookie are all grown up!"
"Hoseokie hoseokie! I want cookies," Jungkook chirped.
"Freshly baked just a few minutes ago. Hang out at my cafe while we leave those two Hyungs to talk?"
The two boys agreed and left the room with Hoseok first.
••••••••••••••••••<>••••••••••••••••••
"So, what is it that you have to tell me?" Seokjin asked as Min took a seat.
His eyes fell on the bouquet of yellow carnations. Min saw where he was looking so he quickly grabbed the flowers and hid it away.
"Yellow carnations?! Are you in trouble?...D-did...did they find out?"
Min swallowed his saliva thickly and placed his hands on the side of his head. He nodded his head and gritted his teeth.
"W-what should I do? I-I can't get him into trouble."
"That's why I told you to be careful!"
"I can't help it! Is it wrong? Is it wrong to... never mind."
Min let out a sigh and sat up straight. He knew he shouldn't be wasting time like that. He went back to his normal self, keeping his cool.
"I'll be having meeting the entire night. I'm going to need you to take care of them while I'm not available."

"You know I would do just that without you even telling me."
"Thanks."
••••••••••••••••••<>••••••••••••••••••
Seokjin was in the kitchen cooking dinner while Namjoon and Jungkook painted in their rooms. He set the table and went up to call the boys down.
He saw the two being serious while they were painting. He couldn't help but feel proud.
"Guys. Let's eat dinner."
They turned around to look at him and nodded before clearing their things. They followed him downstairs and sat at the dining table to have their meals.
The boys went back to the art room and started painting again. It was getting rather late and Seokjin made sure the boys went to sleep on time. He went to the art room and hanged their latest works on the wall.
A white flower and a bright moon.
He knew who drew which. Namjoon definitely drew the flower while Jungkook drew the moon. It represented him and Min. He smiled and admired it for a while before leaving the room. It was then he received a phone call.
He studied the caller before picking it up.
[Whats wrong, Hoseok?]
[Hyung! I wasn't told this at all.]
He noticed the worry in his voice so he told him to calm down and tell him what was going on.
[This is trouble! You know about the car accident right? None of them were supposed to survive but..]
[But what, Hoseok?]
[But there's a survivor!]
[What?!]
••••••••••••••••••<>••••••••••••••••••
Min sat in his room while organising the files that had reports on the recent death list. He heard someone knocked on the door and asked him to enter.
The person who walked in had curly brown hair with long fringe that was reaching his eyes. He had a bouquet of mixture of flowers in his hand.
He passed it to Min and gave him a boxy grin.
"I assume you know why I'm here."
"Yes, I know."
Min eyed on the flowers.
"You could've just given me more yellow carnations."
"Min, you are still my precious child. I love you no matter what," he replied with a chuckle.
Min let out a sigh as he took the flowers and beckoned him to sit down. He placed the flowers aside and wet his lips nervously as he waited for the other to speak.
"You really shouldn't leave those two boys alone."
Min looked at him confused and so the other person cleared his throat and repeated.
"I heard it from the first time but what do you mean by that."
"If you leave those two boys alone, they will end up fighting. And in the end, one of them will have to face death. It's fated. An angel's gift and devil's gift were never meant to be together alone. It's different from actual angel and devil. Besides you should know the reason of this cause."
Min slammed the table and stood up. Anger glinting in his eyes.
"That's impossible!"
"You brought this upon yourself and this is your punishment."
Min flinched upon hearing his words. It replayed in his head and he shook his head, unbelievingly.
"No...no... it's not supposed to be that way."
He clenched his fist and swallowed the lump in his throat but he couldn't. He felt suffocated and he could feel the tears forming at the corner of his eyes.
"I think you should head back home. If you want to see him for one last time that is."
Min's eyes grew bigger and he stared at him.
"W-what do you mean by that? Seokjin should be at home."
He noticed the person's lips forming into a soft smile. He held his gaze at him and waited for his response.
"It's a play of fate."
••••••••••••••••••<>••••••••••••••••••
Seokjin saw Hoseok waving at him at the intersection of the road where the incident took place. He ran to him and stood beside him.
"Look, hyung. Look."
He pointed inside the car so Seokjin got closer to get a clearer view. His eyes widened in shock as he saw a baby inside.
"Alive?"
"Yeah and not even on records yet. Must have been born not long ago."
Seokjin noted it and opened the door. Hoseok pulled the baby out and she started crying. He rocked the baby in his arms but the baby didn't stop crying.
"Hyung... what should I do?"
"Give her to me."
Seokjin took her in his arms and the moment she felt his touch, she stopped crying.
"Oh she stopped. She likes you, hyung."
Seokjin looked at the baby who was also looking up at him. The baby giggled and grabbed his shirt with her little hands. He melted upon her actions.
"Did the parents pass away?"
"No other survivors besides her."
"Okays then. I'll take care of her."
"What?! Hyung but..."
"It's fine. She's too young to be left alone like this. I'll handle it. I'm the angel of life after all. I can register her under my records."
"But what about her name?"
"Name?"
He glanced at the baby who was currently sleeping softly in his arms. He couldn't believe she didn't even have a name yet. He stroked her cheeks and when he brought his hand down, she grabbed his forefingers and held it tightly with her hand. He looked at her fondly and smiled.
"(Y/N). Kim (Y/N)."

Child of Dusk
Life can be cruel, especially to those who don't fit in. But what would you do if you were given a second chance? Tim was a nobody during his time on Earth. As a penniless orphan with no friends to speak of, life was tough for him in his little Arizona town in the '90s. He'd utterly lost hope for the future until one day, he was reincarnated as Alvanue, beloved daughter and heir to the Starlit Throne of Silthonduen. Now, Alvanue has everything a princess could ever want: a loving family, loyal comrades and an entire kingdom at her finger tips. But what good is a kingdom when there's a whole world of magic and mystery out there to explore? *** Ok! Disclaimer time. I do edit my own work and I do not have a beta reader, so please feel free to point out any errors or plot holes (politely, of course). Each chapter will be around 4,000 to 6,000 words long and while I was posting every day at the beginning, I think I'll cut that down to once a week for now, excluding bonus chapters! I really don't want to get burned out. I started writing this because I love world building, so this is gonna be heavy on lore. If you're not into that, there's still a ton of character progression and action to look forward to! It's going to be slow at the beginning, but I promise it will pick up eventually. Thanks for checking my story out, I appreciate it a lot!

In his visions, he discovered his reincarnation, to become a Dungeon. Desiring to rise to great heights again, even in his new life, he spent the remaining centuries he had researching and studying the strange beings called Dungeons, and devising a spell that would allow him to retain his memories. However, the very act of knowing what is to come can often be enough to alter Destiny. Impressed at the Mage's efforts, an ancient, powerful being, the Creator of Gods, has now chosen him, to become one of the Dungeon Gods of a new world in a new segment of reality. Their directive, to bring life to this new world. Follow him, as he brings forth the knowledge his efforts awarded him, and pits it against his unprepared competitors, in a bid to be the first to create sentient life. This is my first full on story, and is mostly going to be a learning experience for me. It is going to be a story following the life of Arcius as a Dungeon God, with very few POV swaps, if any. If I make any errors, either in spelling or in grammer, please let me know, and I will endevour to correct them ASAP. I was inspired to create this story after reading the Scale Dungeon, by TheSilverGunner, here on RRL. It is a good story, despite having only a few chapter out at the time of writing this. I highly recommend that you read that story if you find this one interesting.
