《Pied Piper | {K.NJ}》Chapter 8

Namjoon carried the unconscious girl back to her house and entered her room through the window. He gently placed her on the bed and stretched his arm.
"Another target done."
He left the place before the girl wakes up and went back to his house. He knew you saw him playing the flute. That was his plan from the start, luring you with the other music. Hopefully, you would understand that this is not some game to play.
He entered his room and opened the window. He placed a flute on his table and sat on his bed. A black cat jumped into the room though the window.
The cat sat on the table beside the flute, eyes fixed on Namjoon. Namjoon gave the cat an innocent smile, causing the cat to shake his head. Slowly, the cat jumped onto the chair nearby and then onto the floor.
It transformed into a young man with black hair that grows a little long till it reaches its eyebrows. He had strong black eyes, skinny and very pale skin. He wore black shirt that is loosely fitted on his body and skinny black pants.
A devil of death.
He placed a hand on the side of his waist and the other on the table.
"What were you planning, child?"
"What are you talking about?" Namjoon asked with a grin, obviously trying to act innocent.
The boy let out a sigh and folded his arms across his chest.
"Your job is to break hearts not build them."
"I'm not building anything."
"That girl shouldn't be messed with."
Namjoon's ears pricked and his expression turned serious.
"Explain."
He took the flute in his hand and it started glowing upon his touch. Namjoon had his eyes on his hand that was holding the flute.
"This flute does not form love. It tears them apart."
He walked towards Namjoon and placed it in his hands. The moment he let go of it, the flute stopped glowing. Namjoon looked at the flute and then glanced up at him.
Namjoon noticed the change in the colour of his eyes. His eyes shimmered in gold, giving off a rather dangerous aura.
"It's a price you had to pay for the sin you had committed."

You opened your eyes when you heard your alarm going off. You couldn't believe that you actually managed to fall asleep perfectly.

After you successfully sneaked back into your room without getting caught by your Brother, you plopped onto your bed immediately and fell asleep without a care.
You wondered if it was because you were too tired or it was because of that new flute music Namjoon played. You figured that Namjoon purposely played that note to lure you to go to him.
You couldn't take out the images of him playing the flute. You swallowed the lump that suddenly appeared in your throat and hid your face in your pillow as you hugged it. You could feel your cheeks heating up and your heart was beating faster. You couldn't help but find him so beautiful.
You knew it's wrong. You have Jimin and you are thinking of Namjoon. That's just not right. Plus you just saw that he's definitely not human last night.
"He's dangerous, break girls' hearts and..." you paused and bit your lips. "And tall and handsome and cute, especially that freaking dimples of his."
You groaned and threw the pillow out of frustration.
"I can't be falling in love with him. It's only because of that flute. That's right. Because of that flute."

You strolled lazily into the school hall, heading towards your classroom. You stopped in your tracks when you heard Jimin calling you out.
He ran towards you and passed you a bag. You took it and peeked inside to see some scented candles. You looked at him with an eyebrow raised, seeking for explanation.
"Well, you haven't been sleeping well and I heard lavender scents help you sleep better so I bought it for you."
He scratched his head and a slight pout was formed. "It might not work since you couldn't sleep because of that Pied Piper," he added.
You couldn't help but feel touched by his thoughts and actions. You giggled and took one out to smell it. It had a floral scent and you felt better as you took it in. You smiled at him and pinch his cheeks gently.
"Thank you, Jimin. It'll be very useful."
He grinned so widely until his eyes grew very small. Bell rang and class had to start and you watched him head back to his room as you did the same.
"That's right. I have Jimin. I don't need to start caring about some other guy.... Right?"

School was as usual. It just needed one word to describe it. Boring.
Well, you had to head home alone today although Jimin wanted to accompany you back. He had to stay behind to attend some student council meeting which you do not see the point behind it.
Jimin is a good student so he's wanted by most teachers and the students for assistance all the time. He's also a good son and helps out his parents with everything he can. He's smart, athletic and handsome. He's basically perfect. Any girl would want him.
But no one knew how you two starting dating. Neither did you both. You were childhood friends and grew close like a family. You were a bit shocked when Jimin confessed his feelings to you. You didn't see any reason to reject him so you accepted his feelings.
And till now, you couldn't figure out if the feeling is mutual because your heart had never raced that fast with Jimin like when you were with Namjoon.
"Ahhhh! I don't want to think about it!" You mumbled to yourself and shook your head to get that out of your head.
That was when all of a sudden, the clear blue sky darkened and there was a heavy downpour. You shouted in frustration and quickly ran to the nearest shelter with your books above your head.
You let out a heavy sigh as you tried to shake the water off yourself. You looked up at the sky. It seemed like it would take quite a while for the rain to stop. You decided to just stay there until the rain become lighter.
You held your books in one hand and took out your phone with another. You were so into your phone that you didn't notice there was someone beside you.
"Oh, little kitten. You are stalking me again."
You blinked your eyes and turned to your side to find Namjoon so close to your face. You flinched backwards and ended up blushing.
"I-I'm not stalking you! How could you say that?"
"Then, what's that on your phone?" He asked as he pointed to your screen.
You checked your phone and became flustered. You couldn't believe you were actually checking updates on Pied Piper as if it was the most normal thing to do.
You could tell that your face had turned way too red so you looked down to hide your flushed cheeks and faked a cough.
"I-I was just curious."
He let out a small chuckle which made you blush harder. You cleared your throat to remain composed and stood up straight.
"A-anyways, what are you doing here?"
"Well, I live here so I'm strolling around," he said, slightly in a teasing tone because it was such an obvious question.
You mentally cursed yourself and looked to the side to avoid eye contact with him. However, you still have a few questions to ask him so you still had to turn to face him.
"What's with the new music? I actually fell asleep without any problems."
"Oh that? It's for attracting soulmates."
You stared at him blankly as you processed what he said. Once it entered your brain, you could feel your cheeks burning way too hot and your brain went blank.
"W-what?!"
He bursted out laughing as he found your reaction adorable and only stopped when he saw that small pout on your face.
"Ok sorry sorry. I won't tease you anymore. Well, I can only play that music once in a while. I can specifically target someone and lure them towards me. It also works in a way that she could sleep without hearing my flute sound for the rest of the night. I felt kinda bad you know."
You felt happy because he actually worried about your sleeping state. You couldn't help but smile at him.
"Thank you."
He stared at you for a while as if he had frozen but it was only for a moment before he smiled back.
"You know you have a beautiful smile."
You giggled and you gave him a bigger grin. He chuckled and messed your hair playfully. He passed you his umbrella and you looked at it and then at him.
"Can't have little kitten getting sick."
He shoved it to you and stepped out of the shelter.
"What about you?!"
He turned around and shook his head.
"No need. My house is just a few minutes walk."
He ran off before you could even say anything else. You watched him run in the rain and you held his umbrella close to your chest.
Once again, your heart was pounding rapidly against your chest. And this time, there wasn't even any flute sound.
