Hazel chuckled, slinging her weapon on her shoulder giving me a small sheepish smile.
I smile back at her a little, "Did you think I was a monster?"
We were currently walking around camp, it was lunch time so almost the entire place was isolated. You could see a couple of people walking, but other than that the rest of the camp's population was probably eating at the pavilion.
"Nope, we actually thought you had The Sight" Frank replied as he stopped by a wooden house that slightly differed from the rest of the cabins. It was bigger, and it seemed pretty normal.
She and Frank knocked on the wooden door while I stayed on the porch, still observing some of the things here in camp.
"What is The Sight?" I ask, sitting on one of the chairs.
Hazel looks back at me, "A mortal being who can see our world" She emphasized before knocking with Frank again.
When I hear that, my ears perk up. This entire demigod thing is starting to sound cool. It's as if I was cut out from a magazine and was glued to a rare scrapbook. Or like maybe a movie.
Nobody answers their knocks, so they decided to take a seat in front of me. Placing their bags and some of mine by the side.
"You're pretty calm about this," Frank pointed out and I let out a breathy laugh when he says this. Sure, it may have seemed that way but I rarely liked going to new places. One of the reason why I was highly opposed to this at first.
"I was supposed to come here when I was twelve but I was stubborn and said I didn't want to come" I shrugged but both of their eyes meet and they widen simultaneously.

"You've known you were a demigod for that long? And you lived?" Hazel asked, raising her tone in disbelief.
I nodded, "Is that a bad thing?"
I did know it was a bad thing that I was practically an overdue demigod child. I've received enough beating and lectures from Kaya, that's what.
But I didn't know I wasn't supposed to live?
"No!" Hazel jumped, "That's almost like a miracle!"
"How so?" I tilted my head as I fiddled with my fingers. The more I thought about it, the more it felt like I was being interrogated like a criminal.
"Monsters could easily detect our scents, it would take extreme power and protection for you to live for so long as a normal human being" Hazel praised, clasping her hands together and her eyes twinkling with excitement.
I stare at her, processing her words, and when I get it— I remember something Kaya has been telling me for a long time.
"Oh it's because there are people like Kim and Kaya. I think they protected me all this time" I gnaw on my lower lip, feeling a little nervous.
"The empousa? Wait— there were two of them?" Frank asked, his mouth hanging open.
I give him a short nod, "They said it was their duty to protect me. Mother's orders or something like that"
"You know your godly parent?! And they sent you empousai? Oh gods, I think I know—" Hazel choke on her own words and I help her through it.
I nod, "Yeah, I do know my mother. My mother is Hecate"
"That explains everything. Why you can see us before even if the mist was activated massively and why you've lived as a mortal for such long time. I just don't understand, why is it that Hecate spends so much effort on you?"

I try to remember some of the things Kaya told me before, but nothing was really entering my mind as of the moment so I just shrugged.
"I don't really—"
"Hazel! Frank! You guys are back so soon!" Someone yells from afar, I squint my eyes to see who the hell would yell that loud, and I see a man running towards us, wearing brown and soot-covered suspenders with a dashing smile plastered on his face.
Frank jumps up, and gives the guy some bro hug or something like that.
"Leo! Why do you sound like you don't want us here?" Frank laughed, patting him on the back and this Leo guy grins and gives a sheepish smile.
Hazel stands up and gives Leo a warm hug, she was quite small so it seemed to look warm. I mean, this Leo guy looked warm. He was so smile-y and stuff.
"Oh! And who is this? Your niece Frank?" He asked, his eyes landing on me. I give him a little wave when Frank groans at his question.
Hazel clears his throat, nudging Frank "Leo, this is Treya, a new demigod. Treya, this is Leo son of Hephaestus"
My mind immediately tried to track who this Hephaestus guy was, and I remembered! God of fire and other stuff.
"You can control fire or something?" I ask him all of the sudden and he grins.
"I actually do! Hey, you're a nice kid!"
"We're waiting for Chiron, he seems to be taking his time eating. We have to take her to him, get her settled and all, Camp Half Blood really is different from Camp Jupiter" Frank mumbled, rubbing the nape of his neck.
I turn to Frank, "There's another one?"
"Yeah, in California. You came from there, didn't you?" He looks confused, trying to decipher my words when Leo grabs him and starts a conversation. I, on the other hand, starts freaking out.
"I- really?! I didn't know! Kaya told me to go to specifically Camp Half Blood! I could've went there and I would be near my house and I—"
Hazel holds my shoulder, stopping me from ranting.
"Chill. You said you are a daughter of Hecate, yeah? Then you belong in Camp Half Blood, the Greek camp. I belong in Camp Jupiter because my father is Pluto, here he is known as Hades"
"Isn't that the same thing?" I squeaked
Hazel nodded before shaking her head, "Well, yeah. When you think about it, they are the same but when they are in their Roman forms, they're so different it's like they're a different person"
"Wow, I know so little," I murmured. I thought being a demigod was all I was ever gonna know.
Hazel smiled, "That's why you're here! In Camp Half Blood! To learn more!"
"Like what?"
"The basics. Camp Half Blood works differently from Camp Jupiter, but you know. You learn more about the gods you initially thought were myths, you adjust to the customs here, learn how to fight, maybe even get a quest!"
"A quest?" I echoed
Leo butt in, with a wide smile "A deadly quest!"
My jaw dropped, "Is that supposed to make me happy?"
Hazel shook her head and knocked on Leo's head, "He's joking,"
"No I'm not!" Leo protested
"Okay, he's not. But quests are different. It's rare. Demigods don't usually get quests like it's a normal thing"
I laugh nervously, "That's...exhilarating,"
"Don't worry, I think you'll do fine"
