《A Daughter of Thanatos( Nico di Angelo )》Chapter 21

I kept on getting small headaches while Nico was driving. Why? Violet was still bothering me.
What did I do?, I thought. "Stop thinking so much. It's weird." Nico said. I glared at him.
"Hey, Clare?" I turned to look at him again. "Yeah?"
"What's wrong? You're over thinking more than usual. I don't know you that well, but I can tell something is bothering you." He said. I sighed. "It's nothing, Nico. I promise." There's that word again... You'd think you'd learn not to make promises you can't keep.
"Clare, what's wrong?" I didn't realize that my body was tensed 'til I heard Nico's voice. "N-Nothing. Just me over thinking again." I forced out a laugh and smile.
He smiled. "Okay." Then I asked him something that would either make or break my chances with him.
"Why'd you kiss me?" I didn't even think. I blushed, looking down. "What do you think?" What kind of answer is that?
"Erm... You wanted me to shut up?" I replied. He chuckled. "No, not exactly."
"So you did want me to shut up." He shook his head. "Partially, but no." I frowned.
"Then why?" He grinned. "You have to figure out that one for yourself."
Even I know why. You're really stupid.
My eyes widen. "Found out yet?" He asked me. I shook my head.
"Wow." He shook his head and laughed at me. I stuck my tongue out at him.
"Shuddup." I crossed my arms over my chest. "You're such a baby!" He said.
"Be quiet." I told him. He listened to me and we had this awkward silence thing going on.
"Gods, do I have to do everything for you two? Ask him stuff!" Shadow whispered behind me. She was awake again? I turned to her and whispered back, "Like what?"

"The weather is a classic one." Shadow suggested. "What!? No." Shadow rolled her eyes. "Yes, the best way to start a conversation." I sighed. "Fine."
I turned back to Nico. "Uhh, so..." He smiled. "What?"
"How's the weather?" I asked him. He chuckled. "Is that the best you got?"
"Hey! It isn't that easy!" I defended myself. "Sure it isn't." He said.
"You're mean." I pouted. "Why are you like that?" Nico asked.
"Like what?" I asked him. "Why do you act cute?" His eyes widened once he realized what he had said. My eyes did the same.
"Uh, We're back in New York!!! Yayy, I'm gonna drive faster now. Okay." I felt my breathing stop.
"Uh, y- AHHHH!!!!" Nico ripped through the streets of New York. Which is hard to do with all the traffic, but he managed to do so.
We arrived at the match making company in a few minutes. I needed to barf. Andy and Cole woke up.
Shadow got out of the car and so did Andy, Cole and Nico. I stayed behind for a few minutes.
Nico opened my door. "Are you okay?" I poked my head out and nodded. "Yeah."
I got out of the car and went with the group. "Hope this is worth it..." I muttered.
We walked through the doors and saw a lot of different people rushing through. Different phones ringing, people talking at once, and no one payed any attention to five teens pushing their way through to see a goddess.
"This place is big." Andy said. "We're in Manhattan, mostly all the buildings here are 'big'." Shadow said.
"Yup." Cole agreed. "Let's go find us a goddess." Nico said. We nodded and followed him.

"You know where she is?" I asked him. "Nope, but it's what this map is for." He pointed in front of us. There was map locating where to find the head of the company, which is the goddess of love.
We all 'ohhed' and looked for her.
"Eighth floor. Let's go." Nico and the rest of us rushed into an elevator.
Nico pushed the number seven button and the doors closed.
2,3,4...
A buisness lady came in. She wore one of those really gray suits and that blank, poker face.
She looked at us and rolled her eyes. She clutched her breifcase tightly, as if we were going to mug her or something. Really?
I sighed and rolled my eyes at her.

We all got off and we went the same direction. The lady was calmly walking beside us. I sped up my pace and she did the same.
I was already running when I reached the door. "Stop right there young lady!" She shouted at me. I stuck my tongue out at her and went inside.
When I went inside, the lady I saw was stunning. She had dark brown hair and dark blue eyes. She was tall and had a kind smile on her face. I felt myself comparing how I looked compared to her.
"Hello." I smiled "Hi." The rest of them came in, including the fancy suit lady. She was breathing heavily and was trying to catch her breath.
"I'm...... so.......sorry..... miss!" Aphrodite smiled. "That's fine. You may go Nora." The lady fixed her posture and exited.
"Hello demigods." I looked over at Nico and he was staring at her. So did Cole.
I felt something in my chest. Why doesn't he look at me like that?, I thought enviously.
I stomped on his foot and he recovered from staring at her. He glared at me and I glared right back.
"You two are so cute!!!" She squealed. She looked at Andy and Cole. Andy blushed. "Really?" The goddess nodded eagerly. "Yes! I so ship you together." Cole smiled down at Andy and she smiled at him.
"Oh! And you two," She said towards me and Nico. "Ahhh, if both of you are playing hard-to-get, you'll never get to be together." My jaw dropped and I took a step away from Nico.
"W-What are you talking about?" I asked. "Nothing, darling." She smiled in a mischeivous way, like how Andy would smiled when she thinks of something evil.
"Hmm, come along now! If you want me to help you with your quest." Nico stopped. "How do you know about our quest?"
"Word goes around." She motioned for us to follow her.
I suddenly felt a sharp pain on my back. I screehed out in pain. Then it all went black.
