Lan Qiren suddenly felt a chill ran down his spine. He stopped talking and slowly, his head turned sideways – facing the door.

“Senior Lan. What’s the matter?” Lan Jingyi asked when they saw him (LQR) suddenly fell silent.

Lan Qiren didn’t answer. “Senior Lan...?” Lan Sizhui cautiously called the temperamental sect elder.

Lan Jingyi looked at the silent Lan Qirem suspiciously. “Hey. Do you think he finally became senile?” he whispered to the disciple next to him.

“Jingyi!” Lan Sizhui hissed at Lan Jingyi, then sighed when Lan Jingyi just shrugged.

“Study the clan’s rules and imprint it in your heart.” They heard Lan Qiren told them.

The time they reacted and turned, Lan Qiren was suddenly gone. Lan Jingyi paled. “A... a ghost?!” he exclaimed under his breath, he’s slightly shivering.

The other disciples murmured and nodded, agreeing what Lan Jingyi said.

Lan Sizhui cupped his forehead, feeling a headache is coming. “Senior Lan Qiren is real. He was just teaching us a moment ago.” He patiently told him.

“B-but... but! Isn’t today the Ghost Festival day?!” Lan Jingyi rebutted.

“... ah.” Lan Sizhui said, then realized something. His face gone blank. “Jingyi. Senior Lan Qiren is a real person.” He said, his face serious. “However...”

“’however’?” Lan Jingyi asked, scared as he stared intently at Lan Sizhui.

A smile crossed Lan Sizhui’s face just as the sun set beyond the horizon. It casted a shadow upon his handsome face. “How can you be sure I am real?” he asked, his voice so soft it’s almost inaudible.

However, Lan Jingyi can clearly hear it. Since, staring at Lan Sizhui’s face that now looked mysterious and at the same time – bewitching like a naughty ghost... he felt everything around him disappeared, only leaving Lan Sizhui who’s sitting in front of him.

Suddenly, he felt alarmed. Sizhui... isn’t real?
