Lan Qiren slowly walked towards the hall to see his nephews and the other elders of the sect, mulling over what he’s about to report to them. Yesterday, he called for a meeting suddenly but then it’s already late and so the meeting will be held today early in the morning. And so he was given time to collect his thoughts all throughout the night.

He opened the door and saw everyone in the clan seated – including the juniors Lan Sizhui, Lan Jingyi and the others.

“Qiren.” His uncle called, his face serious as he looked at him. Even his mannerism of stroking his beard he isn’t doing now.

“Elder.” He called and bowed to the elders – a generation ahead of him and his late brother.

“About the gist of what you told us beforehand last night – “ one of the elders blurted out, can’t keep his calm of the stagnated silence that befell among them.

“Eh? What’s the problem this time?”

“He really has gone senile...” Lan Jingyi muttered under his breath.

Lan Qiren has no choice but to leave to keep his remaining sanity from being shattered.

Have I really gone senile? Or... he thought as he took a one last look of the sect. It’s already deep in the night, yet he chose this time to leave. He turned and looked at the impending darkness he’s going to face.

It’s definitely not that I miss him. He thought as he controlled his sword to fly, not aware of the dark shadow silently embracing him behind.
