You were screaming and crying. The hero who held you let go as you stumbled and fell onto the monster's stone body. You beat against the rock with a balled fist as you loudly cried out in heartbreak. You kept pounding the newly formed rock until your hands hurt. The tears cascading down your cheeks were mixing with snot but you didn't care. You didn't care at all. The only thing you cared about was gone and you blamed yourself.
"I-If I w-was only f-faster, I could've g-gotten him o-out" You hiccuped, the knot in your throat made it hard to swallow.
"It's o-over. He's g-gone, guys, he GONE." You screamed and at that moment all of the heros' hearts broke even further. They've all seen the carnage that fighting monsters bring but they had never intended for you to be swept up in it all.
Fubuki slowly walked over and sat down right next to you as she put a hand on your shoulder. Tatsumaki sat down too and did the same on the other shoulder. Saitama and the other heroes knew the sisters to be cold and hard to get along with but they knew you needed someone.
Fubuki nodded to her sister and then whispered in your ear- "Think of him, (Y/N). Think of Genos."
Images of Genos flashed through your mind at a rapid pace. The time you first met at the apartment building when you first moved in. You were carrying boxes of your belongings and when you were carrying it upstairs you had tripped but before you could crash the cyborg had already caught you AND the box. You started to recall the time that Genos and Saitama came over to your house to comfort you (in their awkward own way) after you returned home to find someone had broken into your apartment and stole some valuables. Or the time you brought over homemade cookies to the superheroes and Genos swore you used the same recipe that his mom used back in his village before it was destroyed. The look he gave you made you feel like you were two were the only people in the world. You felt so warm inside when he smiled.

Your sobbing had quieted down as you kept thinking of more memories. A sad, tired smile grew on your face. You pressed your forehead against the surprisingly warm rock, you realized how utterly exhausted you were. Blinking away remaining tears, your eyelids grew too heavy and you quickly fell asleep. Fubuki and Tatsumaki removed their glowing hands from you. They had done something to ease you into sleep. Your head laid against the Fubuki's lap but you still had a hand on the rock even as you were passed out.
Saitama walked over to the dead stone monster, the moonlight casting dramatic shadows across his features. He looked down at you and Fabuki. He just lost his first and only pupil, his roommate, his only friend...the...THE PERSON WHO PAID RENT. Saitmama snapped out of his daze and focused on the stone prison that held the Genos. Bang saw the look of panicked desperation on the hero's face and saw him raising a fist to break the rock. Bang had ran as quick as he could to place himself between the rock and Saitama. Arms spread wide open, Bang yelled-
"STOP! IF YOU PUNCH THE ROCK YOU WILL BREAK GENOS INSIDE." Saitama paused fist in the air and lowered his balled hand. Bang let out of sigh of relief.
"Idiot! Didn't you see that the cyborg couldn't blast his way OUT of the monster? The goo had embedded itself INTO him, it was solid goo! You would've torn him apart!!" Tatsumaki commented in annoyance.
"Oh." Came the bald hero who still was focused on the stone before him. He put a hand to his chin and started to actually think for once. Saitama wasn't used to solving problems that couldn't've been solved with just one super punch. Everyone else followed pursuit. You continued sleeping on Fabuki's lap, the girls had worked hard to soothe your mind and slow your heart rate to help put you to sleep. They felt the responsibility for all this.

Saitama exclaimed at the idea that just popped into his head.
"When (Y/N) jumped in to pull Genos out she opened up an entrance for extra oxygen to enter the monster's body so it's not solid rock, there still must be pockets of air in there. Maybe...maybe Genos can still hear me. He could engage something to use the oxygen to heat himself up."
Saitama leaned over the rock and took a deep breath before shouting-
"GENOS, THIS IS YOUR TEACHER, IF YOU ARE GOING TO LET SOME DEAD ROCK MONSTER KEEP YOU FROM ME TEACHING YOU THAN YOU'RE NOT WORTHY OF BEING MY STUDENT."
You started to stir in your sleep.
"GENOS I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME. HEY CUT IT OUT. STOP BEING LAZY AND COME OUT. WHO IS (Y/N) SUPPOSED TO LOVE NOW, EH? ME?"
Fabuki looked at the bald man in disbelief, how stupid was he?
Tatsumaki tsked and whined. "I knew you were a simpleton but not a-" The Tornado of Terror stopped midsentence in shock of the sight. The rock was...it was glowing?
The rock was started to glow a faint red, which then turned into a powerful red, which then changed to an alarming yellow.
Since your hand was on the rock you woke up due to the hot pain. You recoiled your hand close to your chest and rose your head from your friend's lap and looked up at what was happening.
The rock prison that was holding the demon prince was hot white and everyone took a couple steps back as the rock itself turned into lava. It was brighter than the moonlight and you almost shielded your eyes at its intestity. The grass around the oozing rock caught on fire but was quickly consumed by the moving lava. As it was oozing away you saw all the light wasn't just coming from the liquid rock but from something at the core. Something was heating everything up.
You looked at the heroes that had protectively positioned themselves around you. They looked confused but ready to fight whatever came next. They wouldn't let something happen to you again. You looked over Bang's shoulder and saw a figure get up from the melted rock and slowly walk towards everyone. It was still hot white so it was impossible to tell by looks but you knew exactly who it was...
"G E N O S !" You cried out, pushing through your friends as you stumbled towards him. The figure held out a hot white hand but before you could touch it a figure quickly maneuvered itself in front of you.
The figure was Saitama. And he held a fist up in the air- ready to punch Genos.

Again from Scratch Saga: Izmittor Unchained
If someone precious to you needed your help, would you extend it? Would you still do it if it costs you your peace and perhaps even your life? For Tercius, a man mysteriously reborn nearly thirteen years ago, there was only one answer to both questions. Feeling compelled, he sets out to journey to the northern Sogea and its infamous Western Izmittor mountain range, a natural stronghold of sky tearing mountains and deep canyons. Legends about the place abounded, but he knew without a doubt that the hidden valleys, rushing rivers, thick forests, and desolate landscapes hid powerful predators, the likes of which stalk the harsh terrains for an easy source of meat and bones. The many natural dangers of Western Izmittor would be hard enough to navigate safely for a lone traveler, but to make matters worse Tercius had enemies in the heights of Western Izmittor, humans and spirits who would see him dead if they ever learned of his true connection to the Pyramid of Tergaron and the Society of the Magi. To make things even more difficult, he also had to ensure that the true extent of his own Innate Skills remained hidden, for if the prying eyes of the world fell on him and his many secrets came to light, then he would never again know a day of peace. Can one reborn man manage to keep his secrets and still succeed in doing what his conscience compels him to? Will he have to choose one over the other? And can he do any of it without reigniting the sparks of a planetary war the likes of which had not been seen in millennia? Follow Tercius’ story and find out! *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** This story is a continuation of Again from Scratch, a story of mine also posted on RR.
