CHAPTER 4:
"You stole my heart with just one look. When I saw your face, I fell in love." ~Stole My Heart, One Direction
Tuesday, 6th August 2013
ZAYN'S POV:
"Come on Malik, hit me with your best shot!" The goalie was taunting me, trying to pressurize me. How cute.
I smirked— but sadly he couldn't see through my helmet —and grasped my crosse stick tighter. Then, with reflexes like Scott McCall, I propelled the ball across the goalie's head straight into the net, scoring yet another golden point.
My teammates cheered and Coach blew his whistle, signalling the end of practice. "Good game lads! Same time tomorrow," Coach informed us. Then his fixed his glare on Josh who was late for practice today. Poor dude. He's gonna get it.
"And I'll have your arses mounted on my office wall if any of you are late again! Get it through your heads that this season's first play-off is in just a few week's time and many of your fat arses aren't even in shape! Everyone be at the ground at 3 PM sharp. Make that sure, Payne."
"Yes Coach!" Liam nodded.
After Coach's mini speech/lecture, the team including Liam and I, went to the locker room. After showering and talking with the other guys, Liam and I decided to hit the mall. Josh ditched us for a girl. Bastard.
"Man, Coach has already started drilling us and it's only the second day of practice!" Even I was kinda freaked out by the guy this year.
Liam sighed and started the engine. Yeah he was driving my car because I'm too lazy. "Well I don't blame him. When you've never won a season for 6 years straight, you're bound to have a temper like that."

"We're gonna change Coach's loosing streak this year," I stated confidently.
"Hopefully," Liam added to my statement.
"You're gonna call Perrie?"
"Nah. I just want to have some male bonding time with my best bud," I chuckled and mock-punched Liam in the arm.
"Awh! Ziam forever!" Liam cooed in a girly voice. Ziam was the name Perrie had given to our bromance.
"You know mate, you really need a girlfriend," I stated, looking at my best friend. The bloke has been single for almost two years now. And every time I tell him to hook up with somebody, his answer's the same.
"I'm just waiting for the right girl to come along. I just don't understand the point of having flings."
Yeah, he always says that.
"The point of flings my friend, is to have a little fun and not get tied up to one person."
Liam just shrugged. "Everyone has different views mate."

In the 2 hours we had been at the mall so far, me and Liam each now had 2 new tees in our possession, and I had 2 scraps of phone numbers tucked safely in my back pocket. Hell no you fuckers, I've a girlfriend! But it's ok to have a bit of fun here and there...
And besides, it's almost time for the party! Yeah. My party!
"Hey Li? It's almost time for my famous start-of-the-school-year party! How could I even forget?!" I rambled on excitedly but Liam didn't reply.
I looked over at him to question his lack of response and he was smiling like an idiot at something. I followed his gaze which led to a pet shop. Or more specifically, to a curly-haired girl working at the pet shop who was playing with some puppies.

"I want to buy a puppy," Liam murmured dreamily. The fuck?
"Eh?"
"Come on!" He dragged me to the pet shop, not allowing me to protest.
The girl turned around when the bell at the door dinged and her eyes widened when she saw us.
"Liam and Zayn! Hi!" She smiled at us. I nodded but Liam offered her his hand. She shook it. "So how can I help you boys?"
Oh! She was Danielle Peazer! Drama Club Louis Tomlinson and the Harry the Curly's pal. She was also in Perrie's dancing class, as the latter was always complaining to me how naturally good she was.
This made me think about Harry. I still felt a smidge bad when I pushed him yesterday and even more when I saw him about to cry when I turned back. I didn't see him much at school today, just in homeroom and History, the only one of my class which he was in. And why am I thinking about him so randomly? I snapped out of it when Liam spoke.
"Um..." he started.
"Danielle," I helped him. I swear Liam seemed kinda irritated that I knew her name and not him. Aw! Li-Li is jealous!
"Oh! Uh, Danielle, I'd like to buy a puppy," he smiled sweetly, pointing to a glass compartment in which a few adorable puppies were playing around.
"Sure! Take your pick."
Liam walked over to the pups and they started barking cutely, demanding his attention. He played with them, occasionally asking Danielle questions. I hung around, observing them, rooting for my best friend to make some sort of move.
Finally, Liam came back with a cute little black and white pup with big brown eyes in his arms. Danielle signed some papers and Liam payed her.
"So, I'm really bad with naming my pets. Can you help?" he asked her sweetly. Oh? Our Leeyum is sorta flirting? This, I gotta hear.
Danielle pretended to think. "If he were my dog, I'd name him Loki, like that sexy evil god," she answered and winked.
"Why Loki?"
"Dunno, I think it suits him," she answered petting the pup's head.
"Then Loki it is!"
Danielle chuckled and went inside, then returned with a pet carrier and stuff for Loki. Liam whispered something to her and she smiled shyly, then nodded. And then FINALLY, I saw them exchanging numbers.
We said goodbye to Liam's new crush and walked outside. "Finally man! Thank god you got her number! I was going to whack you right now if you hadn't!"
Liam chuckled. "Yeah. She seems really nice. I've asked her to be my date for your party," he admitted shyly.
"That's awesome!" I grinned honestly and patted him on the back. It's about time Liam gets a girl. And a nice and sweet one at that. Just like him.
