《Ruby X Depressed Male Reader》A Way Forward

Things had been relatively peaceful since the whole...cliff side adventure. You and Ruby obviously continued your relationship and was nice and sweet. Sure dates were nothing more than going down to the cafeteria and buying sweets and other candy based items while you two were doing work. It wasn't anything difficult to say, sure Ruby and Weiss had to teach you some basic concepts here and there since you didn't have that formal of an education but it was still nice nonetheless. Besides, it gave you an excuse to be with Ruby so it was a plus.
However, night times were always the worst of the worst. You began to have nightmares again involving your parents and how they would...well, you know. You would stir awake in the middle of the night, sweating and rapidly sit up. Of course, Ruby would then come on down to your floor mat to calm you down, but it never stopped.
The nightmares made you lose sleep and soon, you began sleeping in class. Currently, you and your team were inside Professor Goodwitch's classroom. Ruby was in a fight against Nora. You always tried so desperately to watch, but you were asleep on the bench.
Glynda: Mr. (L/N)!
You quickly sat up and got your back straight. A few people around you laughed to themselves while your teammates looked at you with concern.
(Y/N): Y-Yes?
Glynda: Are you awake?
(Y/N): Uh, Y-Yes ma'am.
Cardin: GO TO SLEEP, LITTLE BEAUTY!
Everyone turned to the other side of the class and glared at Cardin and his team.
Jaune: Professor. I can fight (Y/N).
Glynda: No. He's over your skill level. Mr. Winchester. Get ready. You too, (Y/N).
You nodded in response. Before you entered the arena, Ruby gave you a peck on the cheek and smiled warmly at you.
Ruby: You'll do great! I know you will!
You nodded at Ruby and walked into the arena. You were still being taught on how to build a weapon so the only thing you got was your semblance and fists. Cardin readied his mace and cocked a smile at you. You raised up your arms and got into a stance. Without hesitation, Cardin ran towards you and reeled his mace back. You rolled forward to evade the attack but got caught in Cardin's swing.

While you were knocked back, you got to your feet and met Cardin face to fist. You threw a punch and hit his face twice before he blocked you and punched you in the gut. You used your semblance and pushed him back towards the edge of the ring but stopped just before it. You and Cardin ran towards one another again and you punched him twice in the stomach. The first punch was pretty good in your opinion but the second was beyond weak. Cardin then did the same to you, both hitting and both knocking you to the ground.
Cardin swung forward and threw you through the air.
Cardin: That was for pinning me to a wall.
Cardin ran towards you and got ready to strike. You rolled along your side and kicked him in his leg. However, with the lack of energy and sleep you could get barely any energy into the strike. Cardin slammed his mace onto your hand. Flashes of your father came through. You triggered your semblance and was able to throw Cardin off of you and back out and away from you as well. Your semblance launched him into another wall and almost crushed his armor in.
Finally, you dropped both Cardin and your semblance. He was about to run over to you but Glynda stepped in the middle and stopped you both.
Glynda: ENOUGH! It was clearly my poor judgement for this fight. Mr. Arc. If you would guide Mr. (L/N) here to the lockers. Class dismissed.
With that, everyone walked out and you could hear Cardin mumble something. Goodwitch walked over to you and offered you a hand up. You denied her and got up by yourself and walked back over to the locker room. You began to load up your uniform into your bag and just wanted to leave the room for the day.
Jaune: (Y/N)?
(Y/N): Yeah?
Jaune: You ok?
(Y/N): Yeah. I'm fine.
Jaune: I mean, if you're not, I can always-
(Y/N): I'm fine, Jaune! I'll see you later.
With that, you left Jaune in his lonesome while you walked off and away from the arena. You were walking down the pathway towards the dorms but you noticed Cardin and his teammates standing around, waiting for something. Lark pointed at you and the team began to close in on you. You slowly began to run off until Cardin and his pals grabbed you and threw you against the wall.

Cardin: So...how you doing today, pally? Need some help with anything, pushy?
(Y/N): Leave me alone Cardin. Remember last time.
Cardin: Do you?
You garbled at Cardin and broke out of his hold and began to walk off. However, Cardin and his gang were able to grab you and threw you into a wall. Dove kicked you in the stomach which made you clench up. From there, they dragged you back behind a building and proceeded to kick and beat you. Tears fell from your eyes as you remembered the beatings from your parents. You then began to get angrier and angrier. Finally, your semblance activated and you threw them all into walls and Dove and Cardin though one.
Cardin: Why you little-
The ground then shook and rumbled around you five. You all looked over and saw Ozpin, his cane emitting a green aura and him looking more than his usual upset.
Ozpin: (Sternly) Team CRDL. My office. Now.
They slowly began to move over towards him.
Ozpin: I. Said. NOW!
He slammed his cane back onto the ground and a burst of green aura went through the pathway. CRDL quickly went and began to walk to his office until Ozpin turned back to them.
Ozpin: IF you even think that Professor Goodwitch's punishments were of threat, then clearly I will have to take disciple actions into my own hands.
Cardin actually gulped in fear and walked off away from you two. Ozpin signed and walked over to you and offered you a hand up. You took it and he dusted you off.
Ozpin: (Y/N). Return to your teammates. Please, spend the night well.
(Y/N): Professor I...I can't. The nightmares, they-
Ozpin: If you need anything, please, talk to your team. Or myself. Or Professor Goodwitch. Trust me, (Y/N). None of us are going to leave you at all. (He placed a hand on your shoulder) We are here for you.
You glanced up at him and nodded. He turned you back to the dorms and patted your back, sending you off. He then grew and annoyed look and grabbed his scroll.
Ozpin: Glynda, tell me again why do I keep Team CRDL here?
Glynda: Because two of their members are rich and they have more than enough money to sue.
Ozpin: Of course they do! Rich brats! At LEAST Ms. Schnee changed.
You had wondered back to your dorm room, more upset and anger than ever and just feeling...awful. You didn't want to be around anyone tonight, yet you had to be. While you hated not saying anything to your girlfriend, you just didn't want to deal with anything today. You burst open your dorm room door and made a B-line to the bathroom after seeing the girls in their pajamas and in bed.
Ruby: Hey (Y/N)! How was to-
You slammed the door shut on her face. She turned back to her teammates with a concern and questioning look. They all seemingly shrugged it off and Ruby went back to her bed, still concern.
Several hours laster, you had passed out in the bathroom, seemingly not remembering or even having the nightmares. And if you were, you no longer cared. The door opened and Ruby walked inside. She saw you passed out and decided to get you to bed. She grabbed you and almost dragged you out of the room and got you back to the main living space of the dorm. She tried to get you back onto the bed but constantly failed until a glyph appeared beneath you and carried you up to Ruby's bed. Ruby looked and smiled at Weiss.
Weiss: Make sure he gets a good rest.
Ruby: Got it.
Ruby hopped back up onto her bed and cuddled up to you. You wrapped your arms around her and she pecked your cheek.
Ruby: Night (Y/N). I love you.
