《Killer Bay》On To New Adventures

With three hours remaining before the plane would be taking off from the Pacific Bay airport, Adalet, Fili, and Ahmet were busy packing everything they needed for the trip and to take to their future home. Adalet and Ahmet were moving between the bedrooms and bathrooms packing up clothing and toiletry into suitcases and carry-on bags.
Fili was downstairs surrounded by a dozen cardboard boxes in various sizes which he was using to pack up any items they couldn't bring with them. He had all of the boxes labelled with the items inside and was currently wrapping up breakable items before packing them away. He had boxes for things from the kitchen and china cabinet, decorative items that they didn't want to leave for the next owners of the cabin, a couple of boxes dedicated to his gardening and floral equipment, and the rest for miscellaneous items that he found as he walked through the house.
"Mom!" Ahmet yells, "I can't find my running shoes!"
"Did you check by the front door?!" Adalet shouted back, folding up one of Fili's green shirts.
"They're not there!" he answered, looking under his bed for the missing shoes, "do you think Scout took them?!"
"Scout doesn't have them!" Fili reported, looking over at where the fox and dogs were curled up on their beds near the fireplace, "are they in your closet!?"
Ahmet headed back over to his open closet and looked for his running shoes. Throwing clothes off their hangers and into a pile on the floor, he soon found his red running shoes with green laces, a gift from his parents when he first joined the track and field team.
"Found them!" Ahmet announced triumphantly.
Adalet appeared in her son's doorway and let out a sigh, "Ahmet, why are all of your clothes on the floor?"
Ahmet smiles sheepishly, "I was looking for my shoes..."
"You could have at least aimed for the suitcase," she teased, pointing to the large red suitcase lying open on his bed, "come on, let's get your clothes in it."
Adalet and Ahmet gathered up the boy's clothing and folded the assortment of shirts, pants/shorts, sweaters, his swimming trunks, socks, and underwear. They used the remaining space for his bag of toiletries and his favourite blanket that he wanted to bring with him. The only thing left for Ahmet to pack was his carry-on bag, his backpack (that he didn't use for Scout), and Scout's bag.
"Where do you think we'll go, Mom?" Ahmet asks, hunting down all of Scout's toys from around his room.
"Who knows, we could go almost anywhere in the world," Adalet answers, grabbing the books off of Ahmet's bookshelf, "do you want to bring all of these or just the ones you haven't read?"
"Ah... The ones I haven't read. Oh! And all of my RR books!" he added, picking up a squeaky toy, "did you know he's writing a series about Norse mythology?!"
"Hmm... I might have to steal them from you after you've read them, see how accurate they are," she says, sorting out the books to bring and the ones to pack away on the floor.
"Do you think we might end up in Turkey?" Ahmet wondered, stuffing Scout's back with the fox's toys, blanket, and clothes.

"Would you like to?" Adalet inquiries, sorting the last of the books into their pile.
"Maybe..." he mumbled, "I don't remember a lot about it, but it was where I was born, so I'd like to see it."
She smiled, "I can't disagree with that logic. I managed to find the lab I was created in before it was destroyed. It was very abandoned and very creepy, but it was nice to see it."
"Isn't Turkey where Dede and Bestefar's home on Earth is?" he asked,
She nodded as she began packing up the dozen books Ahmet wanted to bring, "it's not very far from where your great-grandparents live. And even if we don't stop there, I'm sure Fili wouldn't be opposed to a family vacation there in the future."
"A vacation where?" Fili inquired, entering a room with an empty cardboard box, "I've got the box for Ahmet's stuff here."
"The books are over there along with his track and field award, and things from school," Adalet listed, pointing to the desk covered in the things Ahmet wouldn't be bringing along, "oh! Pass me his laptop and charger, please!"
He grabs the requested items and hands them over, "here you go!"
"Thanks," she says, sliding the laptop into its spot in Ahmet's backpack, then adding in the books and charger, "Ahmet was just telling me about how he'd like to visit Turkey someday."
"If we go to Turkey, then Ireland is next on the list!" Fili declared, "I'd love to show you around Dublin, bring you to the local spots people don't advertise!"
"Don't you have an uncle who owns a restaurant?" Adalet inquired.
"Yup! Got a few aunts and uncles who own shops around Dublin too!" he confirmed, taping up the box containing Ahmet's things, "well, that's it for the downstairs and Ahmet's stuff. Are our things packed, Letty?"
"Almost finished," Adalet answers, zipping up the backpack, "just the last of the clothes and the carry-on bags. I wasn't sure what you wanted to bring."
"I'll put this box with the others and then join you," Fili said, picking up the box, "Ahmet after you bring your bags downstairs, can you make sure we didn't miss anything in the closets and cabinets?"
"Sure!" Ahmet replies, putting his backpack on, "I'll make sure the dog's things are packed too!"
The Irishman smiles as he watches his son leave the room, "how did we get so lucky?"
"Thank the dogs for finding him," Adalet jokes, standing up, "come on, we better finish packing."
They returned to the master bedroom and began taking the last of their clothing out of the closet and dresser drawers. Adalet folded her clothes and placed them into her black with gold stars suitcase, while Fili put his clothes into his flower-patterned suitcase. The couple work in silence, only speaking when they pass the other a piece of clothing to add to the suitcases. Once all of the clothing and toiletries were packed away, they moved on to their carry-on bags for the more personal items.
"To think, just over two years ago, I was single and waiting to go back to New Asgard," Adalet remarks after she had picked up a framed photo of her, Fili, and Ahmet from their wedding, "I'm glad that plan got thrown out the window!"

"You can say that again," Fili hums, coming up to hug her from behind, "and now, we're going to be travelling the world chasing down criminals! It's like I'm back with MI6, but better!"
"I wonder what position the Bureau has for you..." she ponders, leaning in Fili's arms to put the photo in her bag.
"So long as you and Ahmet are at my side, I'll take whatever position they give me!" he smiled, "say, have you seen my sketchbooks anywhere?"
"They're on the desk where they always - Fili!" Adalet shrieked as her husband used the distraction to flop backwards on the bed with her still in her arms.
Fili laughed at his wife's yelling, "come on, let's relax in this bed one last time!"
Adalet flipped in his arms to face him, "so long as we keep it at relaxing, Ahmet's downstairs!"
"Aye, no funny business!" he promised cheekily, "I still can't believe it, the Bureau! Pa's told me about them, they're newer compared to people like the GIA or MI6, but they're amazing! I can't wait to meet the new team."
She hums, "Loki did some research on them, they really do have the best of the best working for them, and they're rather diverse. I hope Z informed them about who the GIA really is, I don't want to go back to hiding."
"Knowing ol' Zeddy, he probably did, or Aslan might have since you would need to be transferred from the GIA to the Bureau," he rambled, "speaking of, I'll need to submit the paperwork to MI6..."
"I texted Jack for more information and he said we'll be heading to London," she replied, "I'm sure you'll have the time to visit your HQ and get the paperwork straightened out."
"Ah, god ol' England!" he grins, "I remember Pa and Ma taking me to the best bookstores, maybe Ahmet and I can find him some new books while we're there."
"Good idea," she agrees, "that kid loves his books."
Fili chuckled, "for the boy who apparently swore never to go to school, he reads like a mad man!"
"He'll soon have his own little library," Adalet giggled, floating up and out of Fili's arms to hover above him, "come on, let's get the last of our things packed!"
"Aye aye!" he replies, gently moving her aside so that he could get up.
Adalet and Fili collected the last of their personal belongings that they wanted to bring along with them. Adalet packed the scrapbook she had for her family to document the new memories they would be making, her GIA equipment, her hearing aids and special glasses, her personal electronics, a few books, and some sentimental gifts from her family and friends. Fili made sure he had his sketchbooks, drawing and colouring pencils, a few framed photos of his family and friends, his MI6 weapons plus his personal electronics, his books about plants, and some sentimental items of his own.
After boxing up the items they wouldn't be taking with them, Adalet and Fili carried their bags downstairs where Ahmet was zipping up the smaller suitcase he had packed with the food, treats, toys, and blankets for the dogs. Putting the boxes of their stuff in the pile with the rest, the family wheeled their suitcases out and loaded everything into the back of the truck. While Fili and Ahmet got the dogs and fox situated in the truck, Adalet stood in the entryway of the cabin.
It felt like just yesterday she had opened the door for the first time. She remembered bringing Ahmet home and the mess the two of them had made while making breakfast the next morning but they were having too much fun to care about the disaster they'd made in the kitchen.
She remembered revealing to her team the existence of aliens. How they had accepted the real her so quickly, even if they didn't understand. Not so long ago Fili had carried her across the threshold of the cabin on their wedding night, feeling so much love from his smile that she never wanted the night to end. All of the laughter this cabin had heard in such a short amount of time and now, she was leaving it.
"Are you ready, love?" Fili asks, stopping to stand beside her, "we have less than two hours to get to the airport, and it's an hour's drive."
"Yeah, I'm ready just..." Adalet sighs, "there's so many memories here..."
"And we're going to go make more memories," he replies, grabbing her hand, "just because this isn't our house anymore, doesn't mean it's over. A new chapter is beginning for us."
"I guess you're right," she smiled, "new adventures are coming, so we better go find them!"
"That's the spirit!" he laughs, "now come on, we need to drop the house keys off with Jessica for the realtor, and give Elijah the transfer paperwork for the truck. Your dads are going to put our stuff into GIA storage for us until we get a new place..."
"It's almost like it was perfectly planned out," she jokes, "when really we just threw it together over the last couple hours!"
"Impulsiveness is what got us married and has worked out good so far," he smirked, "I think we might have a knack for winging it in life!"
"And speaking of wings, we've got a flight to catch!" Ahmet called from the truck, "hurry up Mom and Dad!"
"We're coming, get into the truck!" Adalet orders, "well Agent Savage, should we go?"
"Agent Gatekeeper, I'd thought you'd never ask!" Fili teased, closing the door of the cabin behind themselves.
"So, Capt. Adalet, you've said your goodbyes?" Jack guessed, leaning against the stairs leading up into the private jet.
"Just Adalet is fine, Jack," Adalet responded, dropping her carry-on bag on the ground, "and we're all ready to go!"
"Great! I can't wait to see you in action, you know. I've gone through your resume and... there's some pretty impressive stuff in there, and I'm not easily impressed!" he boasted.
"Just how... Detailed was my resume?" she inquired.
"Detailed enough to know that your skills are out of this world, Gatekeeper," he winks, "don't worry, we know all about the secrets of the GIA at the Bureau, you don't have to hide anything from us!"
She smiles in relief, "great, I was worried about this being a whole new start!"
He chuckled, "don't worry, we've all got our quirks! Anyway, hop in! The plane's ready to take off, and there's somebody very important who's dying to meet you!"
