《Unexpected | Baldi x Reader (Fluff/Lemon)》Chapter 21: Moving On/In

Art is by on !!
"God, that was the best breakfast I've had in forever!" I sighed and held my stomach. I had four massive blueberry pancakes, plenty enough.
"Yeah, eating out every once in a while is good." Baldi said with a smile. "You barely ate anything though."
I threw my arms out. "What?! You ate everything on the menu! You had waffles, pancakes, eggs, bacon, toast, literally everything! Your food alone was almost $60!"
He laughed and shrugged. "What, I love food."
"You're so skinny though!" I traced his figure with my hands. "How do you even fit that much food inside of you?!"
"Magic." Baldi unlocked the car and opened the passenger door for me with a flourish. "After you, my lady."
I rolled my eyes and laughed. "Please." I sat down and buckled myself up, sighing.
He got in the car and tapped the steering wheel. "Do you want to go get your stuff now, or is your food baby holding you back?"
I laughed and facepalmed. "No, let's do it now. I won't take everything, or it'll be too obvious."
Nodding, he started up the car and pulled out, giving me his phone. "Just put your address in and then we'll be on our way."
~
We arrived at my house. I already missed the sunlight. Our entry back into the grey, doltish neighbourhood filled me with a sense of unexplainable dread.
My mother clearly made some 'improvements' to the house while I was gone.
A few drab pansies lined the sides of the walkway. A welcome mat sat on the patio. A wreath hung on the door.
It definitely looked homier than before.
"This is it," I said, pointing.
Baldi tilted his head and smiled. "This is a nice house," he stopped the car and looked at me. "It's a lot better than I thought it'd be."

I shrugged and exited the car, pulling out the spare key I kept with me. I walked up and unlocked the door, yelling into the house.
"Anyone home?" I screamed. Once I didn't hear a response, I turned my head to Baldi and waved him over. "Coast is clear."
He exited the car and followed me, running over. "We might want to be quick about it."
"Yeah, it won't take long. I'm just going to get some of my clothes and extra things and then we'll leave."
Baldi nodded and entered the house cautiously. "Are we going to just keep pilfering your mother's house until she notices? I can just buy you-"
"I don't want you wasting all of your money on me." I cut him off and put my hand on his arm. "You don't have a source of income anymore, so you have to be careful."
His mouth scrunched and he sighed. "I don't think the school is behind me though. But okay."
I lead him upstairs and into my room. "What do you mean? The Principal is dead. The school isn't going to run anymore."
"Not necessarily," he scanned my room casually. "I had a deal with him. Complicated."
"Like what?" I opened my closet and began pulling out a bunch of shirts and tossing them to the side. I went into my dresser and pulled out pairs of socks, and shorts, and underwear.
"Long story short," he picked up the clothes and slung them over his arm. "He told me that if something happens to him, like a sickness, that I'd be the principal until he could return."
I spun around and raised my eyebrows at him. "What? Seriously? The guy that forced you to abuse the children just left you the school in his will?"

"I think so, but all I know is that I'm not done with that place yet."
"I can't tell if that's good or bad." I lowered my voice and moved over to my desk, grabbing a bag and shoving random things like sketchbooks, toothbrush, a stuffed unicorn and my laptop inside. I figured that it would be a good enough haul for the day.
"I'll have to find out. It's in an email he sent me years ago when I was first hired." He responded, gathering all of the clothes.
I nodded at him and looked around. The other things could wait. I got the essentials...
"Let's get out of here."
~
Baldi scrolled through his email, typing in different keywords to find the ancient message in his inbox. There were so many emails between him and the Principal that typing in sentences didn't do much good.
With his permission, I began hanging the shirts up in his closet, leaving a decent space between his stuff and mine. "I'm interested to see this."
I left the underwear and shorts for later.
"Found it!" He declared, ushering me over.
I rushed over to the bed and sat next to him, leaning over his shoulder.
"In the case that there were to be a time where I cannot be present for an extended period, I trust you to govern over the school. Find someone suitable to be the math teacher. I trust that you'll do everything in your power to maintain routine and success in my absence."
"Wow, he really trusts you." I wrapped my arms around him and read through the email another time just to make sure. "I can't believe that you're technically principal now."
Baldi closed out of the email and turned off his phone, setting it to the side. "He didn't mention if he died."
"What else are we going to do? The school has been empty for an entire day. The kids need a new principal. And Playtime... Reese, Kira, everyone needs you there."
He sat in consideration.
"And think about it." I added, almost excited. "You're in charge. No more hitting the kids. You can turn the whole school around. And if you want, I can drop out and help."
Laughing, he turned and smiled at me. "Do you wanna go on another adventure? Let's go back to the school and check everything out. Can't just barge back in without knowing what happened."
I stared at him and nodded quickly.
"I can check the security footage again and see if anything happened today..." Baldi stood up and grabbed his keys again.
There wasn't going to be much rest for my birthday.
~
This was a shorter chapter, but I had to split it up or else it would be just a huge run on sentence. :P Thank you guys so much for 7k reads and over 200 votes!!!!

When she meets Gabriel, the boy whose family has moved in next door, it seems that she has made a new friend. But all is not well in the village. Gabriel may suspect more about her than she knows about herself, but he isn't telling her. Why not?
