I was running towards the lab. I have been excited to start my journey but was also felling anxious leaving mom alone. The only person she lived with was me. She was already worried about dad. I have mastered my powers. Last week me and mom went to shopping in Veridian City. There was another havoc caused by team rocket. My team was so powerful that we are ready to take anyone down who comes between me and my goal. We also paid our last visit to Sis Ilene. She gave me a metal coat because she thought that that Scyther might like to evolve so, he evolved into Scizor. Laura evolved into Gardevoir. Froakie evolved into Greninja. He evolution was different. He evolved into what looked like normal frogadier. But when evolving into Greninja he turned black. Prof. was so excited to study him. We unlocked his battle bond ability. Togetic evolved into Togekiss. Eevee, Dragonair and Magmar are still the same. Pidgeot decided to stay home and take care of mom.

I reached at the lab. Gary came in a minute. I had already decided who I was gonna choose. I chose Charmander and Gary chose Squirtle. Prof. chuckled at this. "Like father like son" he said. Then he gave us cell phones.

"Cell phone??? What are we gonna do with them??" Gary asked.

"Those are used at latest pokedex. I brought them specially for you two. They have information of Pokémons from Kanto to Galar. They have maps, GPS, calling, etc. Now hold them tight."

He pulled a liver and a Rotom appeared. Without any instructions it went into Gary's Phone.

"Don't be afraid Gary. It's a Rotom. Ghost and electric type Pokémon. It like to stay into electronics. He will guide you and help you know Pokémons. Now your turn Ash."

"Thank you prof. but I don't need him. Besides he is a Pokémon with feelings too. If this gets normal people will treat him like a tool." I said.

"That's why my boy they are only for researchers. And I have given you to license of trainers and field researchers. You will be allowed to carry twelve Pokémon. But you will enter tournaments with only six Pokémon."

"Still prof. I don't want him. I'll ask you if I need his help." I said.

"As you wish. But before you go we professors have found you a gift." He said to me. "They decided as a token of appreciation and for the contribution you have given to the Pokémon research you will have this. But before that this is from your father."

He gave me a still box. Inside it there were two stones. Both had DNA symbols in it. One was a small and black, other one was bigger in size and was blue.

{Charizardite X}

"A keystone and charizardite X!!!!" I exclaimed.

"Red knew you would choose Charmander. So, he left this for your ten-year gift. And now the one from us." He gave me the other box.

{Lucarionite}

"This is for saving everyone at the camp."

"As an Aura Guardian that's my job Professor."

"Now good luck on your journeys boys. I expect numerus out comes except earning batches."

"We won't let you down gramps. Smell ya later Ashy-boy."

"Alright Gary be safe and keep winning for I want to stop you're your winning strick."

"You know I will and the winner gets other half of the ball."

I went back home to take my supplies, utensils, etc. Lucario told me that we need to go back to Rota to take Sir Aaron's staff and gloves.

"Bye mom. Take care. And promise me that you will keep that smile of yours every day on your face."

"I promise Ash. And don't forget to change your ..."

"For god's sake mom I'm going on my own journey."

"I know you are sweetie. Lucario and Laura take good care of him."

"No need to worry mom." Laura said.

She looks up to her as mom since I introduced her. We teleported to the Cameran palace. Staff was too big to carry and gloves were weird to wear in today's modern time. So, I decided only to carry the Aura crystal and see if we can do something to the gloves. Lucario turned crystal in to a small stone and sis gave me a necklace to wear it. I attached my key stone to the necklace. Lucario adjusted the aura crystal such as it will show the keystone only if I want to. We replaced the crystal with I identical glass structure. I wore gloves and we were about to head for they started to glow. After the glow died, they were just perfect to wear from fashion to comfort. Sis gave me some letter she wanted to send to mother. I had a lunch with her and teleported back to Pallet.

"Ashy you came back so early!! Did you just teleport from gym to gym to win badges??"

"No mom. I went to Rota. For staff and gloves. Here this is a letter from sis. She told me to give this to you."

"What is it about??"

"I don't know. I didn't read it. Ok mom I'm going to Kalos to see prof. Sycamore's research about mega stone."

"And why do you need that honey?? Mew already gave all the information to you."

"Mom you know what I'll say. Experience is the greatest teacher. Alright I'm taking Pidgeot with me. We are tired from using teleport. I'll come back in a day or two."

"bye sweetie."

With that I got on Pidgeot. And we started to fly towards Kalos. It was a 10 hours journey with Pidgeot's speed. But Togekiss and Dragonair enjoyed to fly over the vast oceans.

We finally reached in the Luminous city of Kalos region and I returned Pidgeot. I asked a boy where the lab was. He was also going to lab he decided to take me there.

We entered a building along side the road. I didn't even think it would be like this. Prof. Oaks lab and ranch had a big impact on me that I didn't thought it would be in the main city. We entered the lab. I see a prof. wearing a lab coat over a blue shirt.

"Ah.. Calem you arrived at last. Serena is waiting for you." He said.

Calem. Serena. These names made my mind rush memories of summer camp.

The cocky boy and Miss Sticky. I remembered.

"Yes Prof." the boy besides me answered.

"And who might you be." Prof. asked me.

"Oh... prof. it hurts so much. That you don't remember a fellow researcher and apprentice. Is three years that long??" I said faking that it hurts.

"Oh... Ash sorry. You've grown so much. Man, you make me look like a scraggy."

What prof. was saying wasn't a joke. We trained so much my body looked like a wrestler. I was able to lift a charging torus without sliding a bit.

"Am I that much changed??"

"Well ask any prof they won't recognize you. Let's get in Serena, and Calem need to take their starters."

"Lead the way."

We went past a door. There was a girl waiting. She must be Miss sticky.

"Serena, Calem choose your starters."

"I have decided and I'm gonna choose chespin." Said Calem. The spiny nut Pokémon jumped on him.

"Ahh.. those pins are real pain in chest." He cried. I and Prof. just laughed at it.

On the other hand the girl was busy deciding her Pokémon.

"I don't know. But Fenniken looks cute. So I will.... choose Fenniken."

"Now that's done. Here these are your pokedex and pokeballs."

Prof. handed them five pokeballs and Kalos pokedex. Then he turned to me.

"So... what brings one of the great researchers to my lab."

"Stop it professor. You are embarrassing me." Was all I able to say until a red and black tackled me into hug.

"Ash it's so great to see you." She said.

"Uhm... nice to see you too. Serena, right??"

"Thanks for helping me in the forest. Here your napkin."

"No need to thank. As a pallet native and Prof. Oak's student it was my responsibility to watch out if someone needed any help."

"So, Ash back to my Question. What brings you here?" said Prof. interrupting our conversation. Prof. knew how annoyed I was when she used to stick to me all the time.

"I wanted to thanks for Lucarionite and wanted some more information about Pokémons who can mega evolve."

"Well why do you need that? You are Samuel 2.0v. after all."

"I'll take that as a compliment Prof. but still experience is the greatest teacher."

"All right. Would care for a cup of coffee??"

"Sure prof."

We sat at the table. Calem and Serena also joined.

"So, Ash why do you need that information."

"Are you kidding prof. I need to make prof. Oak proud by helping the study."

"Give your Pokedex. I'll feed him the information."

I handed him my cell phone. Prof. just chuckled while Serena and Calem looked in confusion.

"So prof. gave everything you will need this life huh..."

"Well that's Prof. for you."

He went for the information to fill my dex with it.

"So, Ash are you traveling through Kalos?" Serena asked with hope in her tone.

"No, I am traveling through Kanto. I just got my starter yesterday."

"If you are going to travel through Kalos we'll travel together."

"Are you a trainer to Ash?? If you are then I challenge you for a battle."

"Sorry, I don't want a battle with you."

"Oh... scared that you will lose."

I was about to say some things which he deserved. But

"No, he doesn't want to battle because it will be your funeral."

We looked at who said it. It was prof. with a boy besides him. Prof gave me the pokedex. The boy was wearing some kind of white lab coat over a yellow t-shirt. He had blue eyes. And there was a Charmander besides him.

"Ash I would like you to meet Alain. He is going on a journey as my assistant."

"Hi there I am Ash."

"Nice to meet you."

"So, is Charmander your starter."

"Yes, he is. We have been friends for a couple of months and he wants to come with me."

"That's nice it looks healthy. Did you take care of him??"

"well yes I did. He is pretty shy around unknown people."

"Maybe he'll like this. I also have Charmander."

I took a pokéball and opened it. My Charmander came out. Both of them greeted each other.

"Hey you can go and play with others, if you like to." I said. Both of them ran to the others.

"Hahaha... Prof. you say that Charmander is gonna make sure of my funeral." Calem said while laughing.

Suddenly angry Lucario popped out of my ball.

'He won't, but I will.'

Calem was so scared, that he peed in the pants.

"Oh boy you over did it."

'Someone needs to tell him not to be a dick. Still remember him from the camp. I hoped that prof. Rowen knocked some sense into him.'

"Come on let's see if we can find something for your mega stone. I hope this city has something to offer."

"No need Ash. I thought you will need this."

Prof. gave a band to me.

"It has a proper socket for your mega stone."

"Thanks prof."

"If you want to thank me you need to wait for some time. Champion is coming. You can battle her. She got a mega Gardevoir. It will help for the research."

"Always ready for a battle." I said while looking at Calem and emphasizing on worthy.

"This is going to fun to see getting your ass kicked."

"We will see about that, and you don't want to get embarrassed in front of your girlfriend, she is perfect for you."

"He/She is not my Boyfriend/Girlfriend!!" they both said while blushing.

"Yeah yeah telling me like I give it a shit." I walked away with prof. and Alain.

After a while a woman wearing white dressed arrived. I was in the corridor when she asked me where the prof. was.

"Prof. is working on his equipment for champion fight. And who might you be. Judging by the way you spoke you seem in hurry." I said.

"You are an idiot Ash; and that's what I expect from you. Going against champion without knowing who it is??"

Calem said mocking while approaching towards us.

"Say a boy who pees in his pants at age of 10 when encountered an angry Pokémon. Look at who is mocking me. And as for champion I could care less for my job now is to help prof. with the data. You won't even make her mega evolve her Gardevoir. I bet you and your chespin would pee again with one look of her Pokémon."

"Well sorry for interrupting but seems like you have quite a rivalry here." She said.

"Oh yeah, he just thinks that champion will beat the crap out of me and my Lucario."

"You look like you are just starting your journey. You wouldn't even have a Lucario."

"Yeah I just got my starter yesterday."

"So, you are saying that he is cocky. What about you??"

"We will see if I am cocky or confident at the match."

"Marvelous I see that you already met the champion." Said professor exiting the lab.

"And who is it??"

"Well looks like Diantha didn't introduce you." He said.

"The women you were talking is the champion."

"Oh... nice meeting you."

"Look how you are Ash, you don't even know who you were talking with."

"Well I do know there is a dick among us. And I don't get intimidated by the position people hold."

"Now before the lab catches fire let's move to the battle field." Prof. interrupted.

We approached the battle field.

"Well Diantha sorry for not recognizing you. I'm not from Kalos. So, for me champion was Red Ketchum and now Lance the dragon champion."

"I see that you are from Kanto. Now show me that you are not cocky."

"You asked for it."
