Sam was standing with his eyes snaring at me and arms folded. His face looks like Dad's face when he's angry. "Taylor, who was that dude you were with?"

"His name is Jason. He is in my history class."

"What were you two doing?"

"Nothing," I said.

"Taylor Audrey Anderson, don't lie to me. I know what just happened. He kissed you, didn't he?"

I said miserably, "Yes."

"I am not letting this happen again."

"What do you mean?"

"You are NOT going to see him again."

"What? You're kidding, right?"

"No, I am serious."

"SAM!"

"It's for your own good."

"What do you have against Jason," I asked?

"I just don't want him around my little sis."

"You don't know anything about him!"

Mom, not liking the argument, came out of the room, saying, "What's going on here? And where have you been, young lady?"

Sam blurted out, "She's with a boy."

"Is that true," Mom asked me.

"He was just walking me home."

"Oh, that sounds nice."

"That dude kissed Taylor," Sam exclaimed.

"My little girl had her first kiss! With whom?"

Sam replied, "Some doofus."

I said angrily, "His name is Jason. And he is not a doofus."

Mom asked, "Wait, why are you mad, Taylor?"

I said, "Sam won't let me see Jason again."

I ran to my room, slammed the door, and threw myself on the bed, sobbing. Meanwhile, Mom was talking to Sam. "Samuel Trent Anderson, what were you thinking?"

"I am trying to protect her," he replied.

"From what, Samuel? She's not in danger."

"I just don't trust that Jason fellow."

Mom asked, "Who is the parent in this house?"

"You are, ma'am."

"Good. Now go and apologize to your sister."

Sam walked to my bedroom door. "Hey, Tay," he said.

"Go away," I sobbed.

"C'mon, sis. I came to apologize, okay?"

"I don't care, leave me alone."

"But, Tay, ..."

"I said go away," I yelled. He slowly turned and walk away.
