Five years later, Nadine is no more than a child. Since she doesn't have much friends, she tried to keep herself busy. Nadine attempted to keep the house tidy. She also would listen to music or even read. Sometimes, she will look outside.

She thought of her parents who she missed so much. The way her father laughed whenever she cheered him from a long day of work. How soft her mother's hands felt as they touched her hair. The memories of her parents, which she kept tight, made her eyes teary. However, she knew she must be strong.

One day, a shatter was heard. Nadine saw a large stone broke the window. So, she cleaned the glass. Another crash took place in the front room. Someone tossed another stone wrapped in twine. It was burning in oil.

Horrified, Nadine rushed over and tried to fan out the flames. The fire spread to Nadine's room. Nadine snatched the fire extinguisher and smote the fire. As the smoke dies down, almost everything was scorched.

Several pieces of furniture were burned. When Nadine chokes on her tears, she turned red with anger. "If people don't care about anyone like me, why should I care?" Nadine thought on this. She tossed the stones out. She bolted the front door and refrained from coming towards the windows. She concealed herself and resolved in trusting no one.
