Sam knocks on Scott's room door, not expecting a response from the late sleeper.
"Come in." Came the muffled response through the door.
Sam opened the door hesitantly, shocked to see Scott awake, laying on his bed holding a PS4 controller. "I thought you sleep in."
"I never fell asleep." Scott replies, not taking his eyes off the holographic screen in front of him.
"Seriously? That's not healthy man." Sam arches an eyebrow, and Scott just shrugs.
"Do you wanna join, or talk, or are you just gonna stand there?" Scott questions, and Sam sits on the bed.
"I'm here to talk." Sam says seriously, and Scott whispers something into his headset, then takes it off.
"Is someone dying, sick, or is the building on fire? Do you need gi-ant man?" Scott questions solemnly.
"No! I think we need to talk about what happened on the helipad, when you infiltrated the compound." Sam answers, exasperated.
Scott just stares at him for a minute, then bursts out laughing. "You wanna talk about how I whipped your butt?"
"I don't think it happened quite like that. I was handling just fine on my own." Sam protests.
"Nah, I whipped your butt." Scott is still chuckling, so Sam swats his head.
"I thought if you were mature enough to accept my apology, we could never speak of it again." Sam replies begrudgingly.
"What do you have to apologise for, Sam?" A voice in the door makes them both jump. Tony is standing in the door, and who knows how long he's been there for.
"Nothing, Tony. It doesn't concern you." Sam splutters, and Scott holds back a laugh.
"Anything that goes on in the compound concerns me, I own the damn place." Tony answers dryly.

Scott coughs. "So, what part exactly are you gonna apologise for? The part where I kicked your butt, or the part where I kick your butt?"
Tony snickers. "You got your butt kicked by Scott and Peter? My my my, I wasn't expecting that."
"Shut up Tony! It was ages ago and I was unprepared." Sam objects.
"But still, the bird getting beaten by an ant and a spider? How ironic." Tony laughs again, and this time Scott cannot hold in the laugh.
"Shut it, tic-tac." Sam grumbles.
"Okay Sam, apologise to Scott for I'm not sure what, and we will forget all about this." Tony surrenders, and Sam rolls his eyes.
"Fine. Scott, I am sorry for calling you tic-tac and making fun of your suit and talking trash about you behind your back." Sam sighs.
Scott frowns. "I didn't know about the talking behind my back, but yeah, I guess I accept your apology, and I will never talk about this again."
Sam sighs in relief. "Thanks tic-tac – sorry I just can't not call you tic-tac."
"But," Scott starts again, grinning at Tony. "Tony can still talk about it."
Tony keeps a straight face, eyebrow raised. "Didn't know you had it in you Scott. Good comeback." With that he waltzes out of the room. Sam glares at Scott.
"Thanks a lot tic-tac." He runs out of the room after Tony, yelling. "WHATEVER HE SAYS DON'T BELIEVE HIM!'
Scott laughs to himself, then pulls his headset back over his head. "Hey Cassie? I'm back on. Did you win while I was away? ...Yeah, it was super important superhero stuff."

The Good Crash: An Oral History of the Post-Scarcity Collapse
"Don't we all feel, deep down, that we deserve the apocalypse?" APRIL, 2028—Global capitalism has collapsed. America has sealed itself off from the outside world, and inside its borders, a revolution rages. All it took was one incredible little machine. That machine turned into two, then four, then eight... like a virus, the replicators spread. As a work of oral history, The Good Crash features over 50 interviews with key witnesses to the events of 2027. The text is rendered in the words used by the interviewees themselves, with light editing for clarity and concision. As such, the book contains language and themes that are not appropriate for children.By capturing the voices to the people at the very root of the revolution, journalist and historian R. Vondersnitch has traced the origins and aftermath of the replicators' rapid spread. Crucially, the book also includes perspectives and testimony from those who attempted to stop the spread of the reps. "Some of these are heroes, too, in their own ways," the author writes in the book's introductory note.
