Ryan's P.O.V
"It was nice meeting you John. Remember, call me if you have any rogue sightings.", I said.
"Will do, Ryan.", John said before climbing into an SUV.
"He's ranked 4th strongest pack.", Blake said.
"I know.", I replied.
I turned around and walked into the packhouse and straight to the kitchen.
Opening up the fridge, I realized that John had taken my words literally.
There was nothing in the fridge.
I pulled out my cellphone I had bought and dialed John's number.
"Where's all my food?!", I asked.
"Oh, you mean the food I'm eating right now?", John deflected.
There was a chewing noise and I cringed.
"These strawberries are really good Ryan.", John commented.
"Those are my strawberries! I put my name on the lid!", I cried.
There was a moment of pause.
"Oh would you look at that. It says Alpha Ryan right here.", John mused.
"Anyways Ryan, I hate to cut our conversation short but I'm awfully hungry. Ta-ta", he said before I was met with dial tone.
I growled.
Now I would have to go to the grocery store.
"Grayson!", I yelled.
Thuds came from above my head before Grayson tumbled down the stairs.
"Yes Alpha?", Grayson asked.
"Just Ryan since our guests are gone. You're going grocery shopping with me.", I said.
Grayson groaned and followed me to the garage, climbing into the truck.
I drove to the grocery store, the only sound was the radio.
Parking, I unbuckled my seatbelt and slid out of the truck.
Grayson slammed his door shut and I glared at him.
"No slamming my truck doors.", I growled.
Grayson held up his hands in a joking matter and backed away slowly.
We headed inside, both grabbing a cart.

"You go get snack items and some junk food. I'll go get meat and produce.", I said.
Grayson nodded, already knowing the drill.
I walked over to the meats while fighting the damn cart the whole time.
The cart's right front wheel was crooked and it kept slamming into things.
I looked around before crouching down. I grabbed the right front wheel and bent it back straight.
Brushing my hands off, I looked at the meats.
Beef, pork, chicken. I grabbed a crap ton of meat.
Good thing this grocery store is wolf-owned and wolf-run.
Once my cart was 3 quarters full, I walked over to produce. Vegetables and fruits went into the cart next.
Pasta, potatoes, you name it and it was in the cart.
I tapped my foot impatiently while waiting on Grayson.
He appeared form behind a shelf, struggling to push the cart.
"Let's check out.", I said.
We checked out, the cashier staring at us blankly.
30 minutes later and I had paid.
$3,693. 52 later and we were rolling the carts out.
It was dark out now and I was thankful for my werewolf sight.
Grayson and I tossed the groceries into the bed of the truck, too lazy to try and fit it all into the backseat.
I inhaled deeply and a rogue stench hit my nose.
My eyes widened and I looked at Grayson just as he looked at me.
The gun that I carried felt cold against my back as him and I moved towards an alley where the stench was coming from.
Grayson and I stood at the entrance, blocking the only exit.
"Please don't kill me!", a voice begged.
We walked further into the alley and we could hear shuffling.
"I'll do anything! Just don't kill me!", the voice yelled.

It was a man. The heavy scent of blood indicated he was hurt.
"Stay Grayson.", I muttered to him, walking forward with the gun pointed to the ground.
A younger man came into view.
He was on the ground, blood surrounding him.
"Please Alpha. I'm sorry for trespassing! I didn't know this was your land!", he cried.
A whimper rang through the alley and it wasn't from the man.
I moved to the sound.
"No, please, no. He's just a boy.", the man cried.
"Grayson, come this little boy. I'll get the rogue.", I commanded.
Grayson picked up the screaming boy and headed to the truck.
I tucked the gun into the back of my pants.
"What's your name?", I asked him.
"Josiah.", he coughed. "Please don't hurt him.
I shook my head. "I don't hurt kids. Why are you not in a pack?", I asked.
"I got... a female pregnant that wasn't my mate... she left me with the little boy... my pack then kicked me out...", he wheezed.
I crouched down, helping Josiah up and wrapping one of his arms around my shoulders.
"Let's go Josiah. We're going to get you some help. I'll explain everything later, but know that you are not coming under any harm when you are with me.", I said.
I helped Josiah into the back of my truck and the little boy immediately cuddled up to him.
"What's his name?", I asked Josiah.
"Joey.", he whispered before passing out.
I sped out of the parking lot, my tires screeching on the pavement.
"Grayson, I need you to mindlink Dominic and let him know that they need to have the hospital ready.", I ordered.
"Yes Alpha.", he replied before his eyes glossed over.
"They're ready for us Alpha."
I zoomed past the boundary line and went straight to the hospital.
Throwing the truck in park, I yanked open my door and jumped out.
I pulled open the back door and dragged Josiah out while Grayeon grabbed Joey.
I threw Josiah over my shoulder and ran inside with Grayson at my heels.
"Over here Alpha! Lay him down onto the gurneys and we'll take it from there!", one doctor said.
I placed Josiah down and the doctors rolled him off.
I grabbed the last doctor in line by his collar and brought his face to mine.
"You make sure he lives. He has a little boy and if he dies, I'm coming for you.", I snarled, baring my teeth at him.
"Yes Alpha Ryan.", he gulped.
I let him go and he scurried off.
Joey started crying in Grayson's arms.
Joey reached for me and I gladly took him, holding him tight as he slowly fell asleep.
Joey only looked to be about 2-3 years old.
Poor boy.

8 192Fortuna Verto
A girl’s luck changes when her world changes upon itself, sending her back and forth between a world she knows and another that shouldn’t even exist. Working with her parallel self from that other world, the two must adjust to their alternate form when visiting the other’s world, as they search for a way to escape the chains of misfortune they are bound to. While this story is the conclusion of the trilogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, as the world of Celese itself is no longer a place the characters will be journeying through. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for all previous books, in case that matters to anyone. This book has an additional chapter after the final chapter that represents the trilogy conclusion, and should not be read until all three books are read first. Fortuna Verto continues the events of Essentia Animus to advance society into a sci-fi interpretation of Celese, bringing events to a distant world of another star. At the same time, events interpret a real-world advancement into a similar sci-fi age of another planet that shares Earth’s galaxy, a planet that has also been linked by the Celesi Veil. English remains predominant in both worlds of the story, but the presence of both sides makes certain Aethyx terms stand out, while Earth-styled scientific terms will also stand in a powerful contrast. Instrumentation remains an important aspect of the Elemental Era, but the influence of the gift has grown distant after discovering the superiority of the elements. Harnessing the elements had eliminated some of the original limitations of instrumentation, allowing for a self-sustaining focal source that provides solutions to problems such as automation. This turns the development available from the previous modern-day sense of a fantasy to one that is deep-future. Finally, opening access to the passage across the veil will open this progress in comparison to a very similar deep-future parallel world without such fantasy elements, contrasting the laws of physics with the laws of elements in a convergence of time and space.
