~
Victorian England. Where you've been residing in for the past couple of years. Nothing truly interested you there, as everyone is bland and don't have souls good enough to make your mouth water. Nonetheless, you have needs. Even if it means devouring an unpleasant soul, you'll do it.
The streets of London were busy as usual. People walking on the sidewalks and carriages riding up and down the stone road. There were many humans around you. Many, many souls. Gallons of blood of different types, purity, and smells. It's not hard to differentiate each human from another. They had a certain smell. Even through the layers of perfume or cologne they spray on their body, you could smell their real body scent. One scent, however, stood out amongst them. A demon. One not that far away from yourself. You tilted your head slightly, your body leaning against a store front.
'Raven? No, Crow.' You thought. One figure stood out like a sore thumb. He was so obvious you're surprised no one has noticed him. Your eyes were drawn to the tall raven-haired man that looked like he belonged in a Hot Topic. Next to him was a boy, probably 13 at the oldest, who looked like he worked in a Hot Topic.
'Hm... he does have a nice soul. Full of hate. Revenge... but it's still... pure.' You thought, your lips twitching, but you ignored that feeling of thirst.
'No wonder he picked him.' Opting to ignore it, you pushed off of the store to walk down the sidewalk. That was until you heard a little boy's pleading from behind you.
"Please?" You heard him beg. You turned to face the voice and saw a young boy with short brownish blonde hair and torn up clothes. No doubt he was poor, probably homeless too. You weren't in the best part of town, either. Behind him was a woman who you guessed was his mother. She was about 5 months pregnant. A baby girl. The lady who was stopped in front of him scoffed and forcefully grabbed the little boy's wrist. You saw his face contort into discomfort.

"A child begging for money?" She asked, pretentiousness oozing out of her. From the way she was dressed and how she spoke, she was of the higher class. Why she was there, you didn't know. "How ridiculous." She sneered down at him. You turned your gaze towards the demon and his master, and saw they were looking as well.
"Shouldn't we help him, Master?" You heard the demon ask.
"No, that's his problem not mine," the Edge Lord replied coolly, but his eyes still remained on the boy. You returned your gaze as well.
"Please, Miss! I only need a little!" He continued. The woman seemed to grow sick of his begging and raised her hand to hit him away from her. Before she could throw down her hand, you appeared in front of him and caught her wrist. You stood in front of him protectively, a blank expression on your face. She looked at you, shock slapping her, but that quickly turned into a scowl.
"What do you think you're doing?! Who do you think you are, touching me with your filthy hands!" She spat, trying to tug her arm from your hand. Your grip on her tightened, causing her to flinch a little. You threw her wrist away before turning towards the little boy.
"If you could, I would restrain yourself from hitting children. That alone could easily tell everybody what kind of person you are. A shitty one," you advised, no emotion in your voice. The woman's mouth fell open in shock. You looked to the side and saw the two males looking at you with almost the same shocked expression. You turned back to the boy's mother and walked up to her. You led her son back to her and she grabbed him protectively. You placed your hand behind your back and felt a pouch drop into your palm. You revealed your arm and held the pouch out to him. A look of awe came across his face.

"Here. Take care of your mom and your new sibling, okay?" You asked while smiling lightly. He nodded happily and slowly took the pouch. He jumped up and hugged you tightly. You were stunned for a moment, not used to physical contact. Nonetheless, you hugged him back. After a little you broke the hug and looked up at the mother who had tears in her eyes. She collapsed to her knees in front of you.
"Thank you so much!" She exclaimed happily, grasping your hand in hers. You shook your head lightly. You're a demon, but you're not heartless. Not completely.
"No need," you replied simply. "Stand up." You grabbed her hands and pulled her up effortlessly. She sniffed lightly before grabbing her son's hand and began to walk off. The boy turned around in his mother's grasp and yelled to you,
"By the way, I'm Luke! Thank you!" He then turned back around and you could feel the smile he had. You smiled slightly in return and began to walk the other way. That lady was still standing in that exact spot with her mouth still open. You smirked at her stupid looking face.
"If you're just going to stand there with your mouth open, you'll choke on a ghost dick," you said as you passed her. You then started walking in the direction of Crow and the bluette. As you passed by Shorty you looked at him and smirked a bit. Azure eyes widened. Then you disappeared into the crowd like you were never there. The two stared after you. You stood on the sidelines, in the shadows, and channeling your inner dolphin to listen to their conversation.
"What in the bloody hell was that?" The young boy asked.
"I'm afraid I do not know, My Lord," the taller one replied. You could hear the boy begin to walk over to where you disappeared. With fervent steps, you pressed against a wall and blended in with the shadows even more. You were still able to see them, focusing your sight on them solely.
"Where could she have gone? The street is crowded."
You tilted your head slightly, biting your lip.
'You have a demon for a butler. How do you not know?' You thought.
The demon did not say anything in return, merely looking on. He suspected you, but he was not quite sure, either. Unlike other species, you did not have a demon scent or presence. If you did, he would have noticed you right away.
"Forget it. It is none of my concern," the boy brushed off, walking away from his spot.
"Are you sure?" Sebastian inquired.
Ciel stopped walking. "Why? Are you questioning my judgement?" His tone nothing short of unamused.
"Of course not. I was merely making sure you wanted to keep someone like her unsupervised," Sebastian explained. You gave him a stank face.
'Bitch you don't even KNOW me.'
Ciel stood there for a few seconds. "Tch. Sebastian, when we get back to the manor, find out what you can about her." He ordered. You narrowed your eyes at them.
"Yes, My Lord."
You watched them walk away and emerged from the alleyway. "Oh honey you got a big storm coming."
Ja ne!

Manipulation
Kelly really didn't want to go first. It didn't seem fair, Anne had four extra years to come to terms with herself surely she could be the one to test the waters? Well, perhaps she just needs a nudge? Or perhaps an accidental mention in a document no one is meant to read? Something her mum might happen to find? A companion book to Instrumental, can be read as its own story but I think really works best after reading the first book.
