Merlot × Stereo
FLUFF
////////////////////////////////////////
"So why are we here?" The jester, samuel asked. Looking around the underground as he got uncomfortable memories from this place. Merlot grunts, looking back to the man. "Well i promised ta' show stereo 'round the underground. She just offered ya' ta' come along." Stereo chuckled in agreement. "Yeah you really didn't have to come along if you didn't want too." She turned walking backwards while looking at Samuel and Elderus, who just nodded.
"Well, since its unoccupied we can actually enjoy the scenery." Merlot huffed, leading the small group to the unoccupied boat. "huh, im suprised river person ain't here." Stepping on the boat, he held his hand out as stereo to help her on. Making sure the old thing stayed stable as the other two got on as well. Tapping the front of the boat, merlot looked forward. "ta' waterfall." Samuel chuckled, not believing it would work. "Thats not how boats-"
The boat cut him off by starting to move forward. Making merlot smirk back at the look of disbelief samuel had. "Everythin's magic run down here pal." Stereo and Elderus chuckle while Samuel crossed his arms. Watching the walls shift from a maroon red to a dark blue, crystals flecked in the walls. The boat began to slow down, pulling to the docks as merlot got off.
"welcome ta' waterfall. We can check out hotlands when we're headin' back." Leading the three onwards, he talked about some of the places such as the trash pile and snail farm. Chuckling as a snail had managed to sneak onto elderus's head, feeling very uncomfortable as he had a pleading look for help. Moving to the wishing room, merlot pointed out a few he wished to, but refused to tell what they where. He even talked about the symbol of the underground, also known as the delta rune while checking out the old turtles small abandoned shop.

"oh hey check this out." Merlot pulled out a small box of crab apples and sea tea, stereo peering into the box to see what it is. "How are they not rotted?" Elderus asked as he also had looked in the box. "well, monster food never expires cuz' of its healing attributes. i use ta' steal crab apples from the old man who ran this small shop, heh." He watched as stereo picked up one of the apples, looking at it confused.
The weird crab shape throwing her off. "Is it a fruit or a dead crab?" Merlot chuckled, taking one of the sea tea's out. "Its a apple, just in the shape of a crab. The food here is strange but good." Taking a drink of the sea tea, he felt energized, watching stereo eat the crab apple. The two men watched to see stereo's reaction, which she lit up after the moment she bit into it. "Holy fuck, this is really good." she looked down at the crab apple. "What? Really?" Elderus asked a bit curious, taking one of the apples out.
"What healing attributes are in this?" Merlot shrugged, not really sure himself. "I dunno, but different foods heal a certain ammount. Like some heal you fully while some only do a little." Merlot tucked a few more sea tea's into a bag he brought, since he was planning on retrieving other things as well. Stereo tossed a few crab apples in as well, finding them intresting. "So this is where you grew up?" Elderus questioned, looking around waterfall. Merlot looked up to him, thinking about it for a moment.
"Yea' kinda. I first lived in Hotlands then moved 'ere. Was sick of tha' extreme heat." He shrugged slightly. "Which a lot of people don't understand. Me bein' a skeleton an all." Samuel leaned on the monster, making merlot grunt in annoyance. "Can you blame people? You have no nerves to give that feeling." Pushing samuel off himself, merlot rolls his eyes. "Well believe it 'er not, monsters don't have the same make up as humans.." There was a small whisper, which made samuel and elderus look around in caution.

"What was that?" The whisper repeated, as a few more seemed to join in. "I thought you said this place was clear?" Samuel whisper shouted, which was barely a whisper. Merlot chuckled at the guys try to pinpoint the whispers, which where coming from everywhere. He motioned them to be silent, then pointed behind the guys. Turning their heads in confusion as it was just stereo, crouched beside a large blue flower that gave off a calm glow. "What the-" Merlot covered Samuel's mouth before he could finish, shushing him as he looked back to stereo.
"Yer' not lookin' close enough dumbass." Merlot whispered, still motioning the two to be quiet. "This is the only moment yer' gonna be able ta' see it." He motions to stereo again, which they all looked at her again. "see what?" Elderus mumbled curiously. Merlot sighed, beginning to explain quietly. "The look in her eyes, i's full of a childlike wonder. It's hard ta' see in stereo." Looking closer, there was the look he was talking about.
She was looking at the blue flower curiously as she ran her finger across the petals. Amazed as the flower whispered a small song to her, a small smile on her face. Giggling softly to the flower, it repeated it back. Crouched down, she leans closer to the flower. curious of how it repeated her as she hums to it. The flower responded by repeating her hum, shining softly. "She's rarely like this but when she is, i's like a entirely different girl..." Elderus and Samuel share a look of shock, finding it very eerie that such a powerful and hardcore person can have this hidden trait within them.
Walking over to stereo, merlot crouched down as he poked the flower. "Its called an echo flower, they repeat the last thing it heard." Looking up to him, stereo smiled calmly. looking back down to the flower as she was in a tranquil state, being rare for her as she hummed for the flower to repeat. Merlot grinned happily, though her stand off-ish personality hid her deeper emotions. Once he got to know her, she was a kind girl. Looking over what is pure, while they see the dark in her heart.

In Umbra Hasta
A blue marble floated in the unending void. On that marble, billions went about their lives, unaware that somewhere else, something had changed. Some requirement was met, and suddenly, a new type of energy saturated the universe. A mother closed her car's door and lifted a bag of groceries in an arm before vanishing into nothingness. Across the world, a teenager disappeared mid-word from a conversation with friends. In eastern America, Captain Octavius J. Asher of the US Army vanished from a mountain trail with no witnesses. People all over the Earth disappeared simultaneously. Such a thing would normally cause mass panic across the globe were it not for the fact that there wasn't a single person left on the globe to panic. Congratulations! Your universe has joined the System. Note: I wanted to read another litrpg apocalypse novel but couldn't find one. Thus, I decided to write one. The MC will be strong for a human but insignificant on a cosmic scale. No destroying worlds with a spell on chapter 25 in this novel. He will face challenges and be forced to make hard decisions. This serial now on hiatus for the time being :( Please rate and review. Constructive criticism is welcome!
