《Racing for her love: A Madison Beer fanfiction》Chapter 5 || Connections

It's been a few days, I've been spending all my free time keeping an eye out for updates for the test sessions. Usually the sessions come to it's concluding stages whenever I wake up, so most updates are already out.

I open my phone and look on Twitter, nothing too unusual, the common negativity, overly creepy married men and a lot of supporting fan accounts. I then get a notification from the F1 app, it was an update article, the session has been red flagged.

The message stated:

I opened the app and saw the footage of Y/N's crash. Y/N was (fortunately) all okay.

The day must be over for him unfortunately, maybe I'll ask him to FaceTime or something.

I texted him, asking if he was free later today.

He responded quickly confirming he was free.

Nick came over, but he was acting strange, he seemed to be completely disconnected from the world.

Baby... is there something wrong? I asked him concerned.

No? I'm just tired. He answered while looking at his phone

He couldn't even look at me.

Baby are you hiding something from me? I asked with a frowning face.

Alright, maybe it's time I come out with the truth... he said carefully

I looked at him with big eyes, my heart was bouncing in my throat like crazy and I had no idea what to expect.

I have no idea how to love you, I'm just as confused as you are probably right now, but I need some time to reevaluate our relation. He said while looking at the floor.

That hit me right in the heart...

Wha- what do you mean? I ask him, while trying to keep my tears back

It's not your fault Madison, it's just my own limitation, I just need some time alone, okay? He said that so emotionless

If that's what you wish then I guess so... I said while the tears rolled down my cheek.

I'll leave you alone for now, alright? He asked.

Okay, be safe baby. I said.

The moment the door shut, I broke down, I cried, for minutes upon minutes. Never feeling so lonely. After what felt for hours, Y/N called.

Finally getting a chance to call Madison again, it's been too long.

I scrolled through my contact list for her number. I found it and called her via FaceTime. It took a few moments before Madison picked up the phone.

At first the connection was struggling a bit, but eventually it loaded her video for me, she was crying.

Hey what's wrong I asked her instantly.

It's Nick... she answered.

What is it? I asked carefully

He, He broke up with me... She said

Y/N had no idea how to respond to it, he was very bad at comforting people.

I- I'm sorry Madison, is there anyway I can comfort you? I asked her unsure.

It doesn't happen often that I get unsure what to say, but I'm very bad at these emotional type of things, my friends point it out more often.

Just talk me through your day and everything you know, leave no details out. She said while wiping her tears from her face.

Well uh, it started off with my breakfast, yoghurt, cruesli and honey, cruesli before the yoghurt obviously. I started off.

She nodded her head and I knew I had to continue.

Well in the morning I was sitting at the pitwall, processing as much data as possible. I said

Why did they leave you out for the morning? Madison asked.

In testing we only run one car and a majority of the races are being held in the afternoon, so Jeff and I made the agreement that I'd run as much of the afternoon sessions as possible. I answered

The car feels very good, better then expected and I think the team is happy where we stand so far in terms of pace, just a shame of the incidents. I said.

What happened? Asked Madison

The curbstone punctured my rear left tire which left me nowhere to go then to the wall, it's pretty much a flat out corner and not a lot of run off for a fast corner like that. I don't remember a lot from the impact to be completely honest, I only remember my tire going flat and then suddenly, the circuit doctor was checking if I was okay. I said, while scratching my head.

Sounds dramatic she said slightly smiling.

It will probably looks less dramatic on video. I said chuckling.

Hmmm, you have a very calming voice, do you know that? Said Madison.

Hehe, thanks, no one told me that before. I said.

For everything a first time, no? She said, her smile returned.

hmmm hmmm. I said nodding.

Don't you need to sleep? You seem tired. Said Madison strict

I- no, you're not my mother! I said while trying to hide a yawn.

Hehe, I'm still older then you, so you'll have to obey me. Said Madison teasingly.

Hmmm, alright I'll go to sleep then. I said with a little chuckle.

Sweet dreams Y/N. Said Madison

Take care Madison, if there's something you can always text me. I said to reassure her.

I then went to take a shower and went to bed.

The rest of the testing days went very clean, we got through it with no major damage and it seemed that the Porsche F91 was a very strong car. We also seemed to have a really reliable power unit and we didn't seem to bad on the tires. The Mercedes car seemed very fast as well, very reliable but it lacked something, but in terms of pace the closest competitors, in my eyes then. I kept strongly in contact with Madison whenever I could and we called more often then before and I truly saw a super sweet person within her, unlike a lot of people who just seem to write her off as a bitch.

The week passed superfast and before I had to travel towards Melbourne for the opening Grand prix, I had a sponsor commitment from one of the team sponsors: TAG Heuer, it was in South Carolina, America.

We went towards South Carolina and had to do a photoshoot with the watch, but there were more TAG Heuer sponsored celebrities.

I instantly recognized a very attractive blonde actress, 22 years old, she plays in my favorite Netflix series. Not that I watch a lot of Netflix, but she's still attractive.

You must be Madelyn Cline I said to her.

Yessss, pleasure to meet you, Y/N Y/L/N is your name right? She asked while giving me a hand.

Correct, pleasure meeting you. I said, while shaking her hand.

It's honestly quite a big thing you know, that you and Max Verstappen are all here, far from home. Said Madelyn smiling

Ahh it's just a commitment, I guess F1 driver privilege, to meet such cool people and all that. I said, while trying to not blush, she is very attractive.

How about I show you around tonight? We could go out for dinner, then grab a drink later tonight. Said Madelyn.

I'm not a heavy drinker and I'm not 21, I'm warning you. I said.

Haha, that's okay. Said Madelyn chuckling.

We exchanged phone numbers and snapchat

Where do you want to meet? I asked.

Let's meet up in front of the studio again at 7 PM, so we can change clothes and get ready

I went back to my hotel room and packed my outfit, once again a simple plain black shirt, with a black TAG Heuer watch, black pants and my triple white Jordan 1 lows. I kept the top two buttons unbuttoned to create some cleavage, rolled up my sleeves and I was ready to go.

The studio is a walking distance from where I stay, so I peacefully walk to the studio again. There she was, she was looking gorgeous and I tried my best to keep my nerve.

Hey Y/N! She said

I walked towards her and she looked at me from top to bottom.

Hello there. I greeted her

Luckily you know how to style yourself. Said Madelyn satisfied.

We walked towards the restaurant.
