《Racing for her love: A Madison Beer fanfiction》Chapter 4 || Testing

"Madison wake up!" I wake up from hearing someone yell.
I was on my phone and got suprised and got up. Looking around trying to find out where the sound came from.
I realized I had not been on my phone and Bowie was looking suprised at me.
"Hello?" I was unsure about what had happen.
Awww, it was all a dream, I thought I was talking to Nick about our wedding... Until I realized he was still upset with me.
I went on my phone and realized I had slept through my alarms and that I had a meeting in a few moments.
"Well fuck."
I hate being late...
I found my clothes, brushed my teeth, did my makeup, made sure Bowie had enough food and water, gave him a big kiss and grabbed my car keys.
"Why does this keep happening to me?" I asked myself frustrated, this never happens... I'm so fucking stupid.
The weather was horrible and it made my mood go down even more.
These meetings have never been my thing, but now they frustrate me even more. I would love to speak to someone right now, not business, just chatting about anything that comes up...
Now's not the time, I gotta get to that meeting, I need Life support to come out as soon as humanly possible.
It needs to be perfect, or else this was only gonna put more negativity out in the media...
"Negativity... Y/n, why does it remind me of him?"
"He's really thrown under a bus, at such a young age, that pressure... I could never and I wonder how it affects him outside the track, when he really just is a teenager." I thought to myself.
I then realized I was going way too fast on the highway, that sudden loss of concentration, so strange, must have been the fatigue...
"As I arrived at the parking spot of my record label, I felt strange, somewhat adrenaline filled, it was kinda cool, but also dangerous... I'll let the racing up to Y/N." I thought to myself, while entering the office.
I know for a fact the testing sessions start soon, I wonder how he'll get through em. I got my coffee and opened the door to my office.
As I walk into my garage, I saw my mechanics still preparing my car, it already had my racing number 48 on the car. I then went to my private room, changed my clothes to my racing suit, the black with red accented suit looked great. My helmet was in the garage already.

"Y/N!"
"Yes?" As I looked around, I realized it was my engineer Jeff.
"Alright, Y/N, we'll let Max run the morning session, the media team got some media commitments for you in the garage, such as revealing your helmet and TikTok's."
'I see, so the midday session is mine?"
"Correct Y/N."
I then walked back to the garage and saw the social media manager, a blonde guy.
I walked up to him and introduced myself.
"Y/N, nice to meet you." I said while giving him a firm handshake.
"Jeremey, good to meet you too Y/N." Said the guy back smiling.
We did all the recording and media commitments and then lunch break arrived, I was never really a media person at all, just stick me to racing. I went for my lunch, a salad with chicken, pasta and a some spicy sriracha sauce for me it was. A lean but filling meal
I then went back to my engineers, the circuit was being covered by clouds right now and it made the circuit feel a bit more grey. I walked up to Jeff as he talked me through the telemetry data and gave me instructions on what to do.
Infact it wasn't really different then driving for my super license which required me to drive 300km without making any mistakes.
I then finally got to put on my helmet, my first time out on track in a test session. I grabbed my gloves and got in the car. They gave me a little ladder to step over the halo which was supposed to protect me from the debris that could be caused in incidents. I then lowered myself into the cockpit and my mechanic gave me my steering wheel.
I pulled the quick release towards me and pushed the steering wheel onto the steering collum, a small click confirmed that it was attached. The iPad looking wheel turned it's display on
"Alrighty Y/N, Jeff here. Welcome to your office. The car is started in the pitlimiter so you'll only run 80kph. We'll start off with a practice start at the end of the pitlane before we'll do our routine. Press and hold the clutch, turn the wheel all the way to the right, apply a little amount of throttle and release on clutch pedal carefully." Jeff was on the teamradio.

I was listening to Jeff while my mechanics made sure the seatbelts were applied properly. I pulled the two bottom pedals on my wheel towards me and gave a little amount of throttle. The wheel was fully turned and I let the right clutch pedal go. The car started moving and I drove out of the garage. I closed my visor.
"Alright Y/n, pull over to the right at the end of the pitlane, try throttle map 9 out of 13, make sure burnout button is turned off. Same for brake magic and the pitlimiter. Clutch bite point to 29% Apply throttle carefully, then let one of your clutch pedals too slip." I followed up all of Jeff's instructions and revved the engine up to 11800RPM, waited for the light to go green and then they go. I let the right clutch go and this time the car accelerated out of the pitlane like a rocket. And for the first time I was actually driving a formula 1 car on a modern circuit. I was approaching the first corner and I started braking. It went all super well. From the rest of the day it was just learning procedures and stuff. Each lap I felt more confident in the car and I got faster with every lap.
At some point I got overconfident and stepped on the throttle a fraction too early in the last sector, which exists out of a bunch of slow chicanes. The rear ended started to slip away from me but I managed to catch it before it spun around. At the end of the first day, we gotten plenty of info, both me and Max ran a lot of laps and the car felt super good. I drove 207 laps in total and Max managed to do 195 in total. Overall very productive.
We went through day 2 quite easily, no real issues, but then day 3 came. I was in the car running my laps with Tyler Everdeen right behind me. I went to enter turn 3, a long sweeping right hander, terrible for the left front tire. I tried to rub off as little speed as possible by minimizing the steering input. I took quite a wide line. To my shock suprise, Tyler went up my inside trying to overtake me. It went all in a flash of a moment, I heard Jeff over the radio, with the loud engine and then I felt his front left tire clip my rear right. I got spun around and I felt my left front hang in the air while I got spun off into the gravel, Tyler crashed into turn 4 as his damaged suspension broke off. The session was red flagged and I stepped out. I checked the rear right but didn't see any kind of damage other then a puncture. I then took a look at Tyler's Mercedes which dug his nose under the tire wall. I got a lift offered but I stayed with my car. A few mechanics rushed towards me and I went on to help them getting my car up the tow truck.
The car got back to the garage and we rechecked the whole car. No real damage to be seen, I think if we get all the gravel out and fit a set of fresh rubber we'll be good.
Before I knew it, the car was ready again and I stepped into the car again, it was getting later and the sun got lower. I drove out the garage and did a few more laps, but then 5 minutes before the end of the session, I was approaching turn 9. The sun blinded me and I didn't notice a piece of curb sticking out there. I drove over it and shredded my rear left this time. Suddenly I lost grip and with no chance of stopping I hit the tire wall hard. The next thing I know is a doctor rushing towards me...
"Y/N, are you okay?" I heard Jeff ask from far away.
I looked around and saw a doctor right up to my face, checking if I were okay. I gave him a thumbs up to show I'm okay and got the sign to step out.
"Yes I am okay sir, get out of my aura." I thought while undoing my seatbelt.
I got out of the car and looked at the mess of the car, it was severely damaged this time, the day was over...

He began walking over to me. This is it. I'm dead. I saw his shoes come into my view as I was looking down, hair covering my face. "Look at me." He growled out. I started to cry, too afraid to look. He grasped my chin and lifted my face to meet his. I mentally gasped. It's the guy from last night. His eyes held surprise too, before anger erupted in them. I cowered back in fear of what he might do."Who did this to your face?" He growled. I started to cry again and shake."Him." I whispered and gave a small nod toward the guy who hit me.
