Maddie's sitting next to me in her dads office applying for college and I can't take it. Her top pick is just up the street, since she could live here, but her other picks are three to four hours away and it'll kill me if she has to leave me alone. She's my best friend of all time, and I'll fall apart when she leaves.

I'm not surprised how amazing she is with school, and she chose to pursue teaching as her career in the future. So of course I was happier when we both toured the college up there street and she fell in love with the program. But I'm an alumni at UGA and she's already got a really great scholarship lined up there too. It's not too far away, but it'll be farther than I want her to go.

But I'm so proud of her, she chose to be a math teacher. She wants to teach people like her, she struggled forever with math before learning how to do it and becoming amazing at it. Just like her dad.

"So that's the last one. Now we wait." She whispers tapping her hands on the desk after finishing. "You'll get into all of them, and we'll celebrate when you do. I'm so proud of you." I tell her hugging her into my arms. I'm so proud of the woman she's became.

She's an amazing sister, daughter, student, and my best friend. I just don't know what I'll do when she's gone and I'm left with her brothers and dad, if she choses to go.

"Yeah. Hopefully I get into the ones in the state, that way I can stay with Paxton." She tells me as I nod. Paxton's been her boyfriend forever, and Jax and I really do love him with her. He's tall, handsome, he treats her well, and she's in love with him. They've been through a lot, especially since Paxton's family isn't the typical family.

He's been through a lot, abused as a child before being adopted, then losing his adoptive parents to a drunk driver, now being eighteen and on his own. But he knows we'd do anything for him, and he relates so much to Jax that I know Maddie loves that relationship. And I happen to really think he's her person.

"What's his plan?" I ask as she sighs. "He wants to go to a technical school since he could afford it, and graduate with an associates degree in electrical engineering." She tells me shocking me. I just thought he'd still work on cars like he does now. He's really good at it, and I figured he'd go to school for that.

"And what will he do with that?" I ask as she starts, "he wants to rewire cars for a living. I love him but I don't think he realizes that will not make a living. I know being a teacher doesn't pay the best, and it's what I love, I want him to love his job too, but together I just don't know how we'd make that work. I'm kind of hoping that maybe, if I don't get into schools here, that I'll have a sign of what to do. Either marry him or end it before we can't even buy a house or have children." She tells me maturely as I rub her hand in mine.

"Maddie you will make enough to take care of yourself, and I'm sure he wouldn't pick something where income is a big problem. He's smart, it'll be okay. You don't date someone because of financial security. You date them because you love them, and if he's that then you hold on and don't let go." I tell her as she nods and rubs hers hands together.

"Mom I have something to tell you." She whispers looking down before looking back up at me.

"What is it?" I ask as I listen to the quiet house. Her brothers are at the gym with Jax, and I haven't seen them in three hours, it's been just Maddie and I, and I've enjoyed every minute of it.

"I'm worried about going away because of another reason." She tells me before pulling her backpack from the floor. She opens it and my heart immediately cracks when I see a pregnancy test. A positive pregnancy test.

"Maddie." I whisper pale in the face when she looks down before realizing what I'm thinking.

"Oh my god no mom!!! Never! Paxton and I have never had sex!! We've fooled around but no mom!!" She tells me immediately as I instantly sigh in relief.

"Oh my god my heart." I whisper holding my heart as she palms her forehead. "I'm so sorry let me explain. It's Izzy and her whatever boyfriend of the week. Mom she was supposed to be my roommate if I left, but now she's knocked up and she knows who the dad is but he's a piece of shit and he wouldn't care. She made me promise to keep the test so her parents don't find out. Especially not her dad and stepmom." She tells me as I nod. I understand that, but Izzy went crazy when her dad remarried.

I was shocked to find out he had started dating a younger woman, I didn't know she'd only be three years older than Izzy, making one hell of a situation at her home. So she moved in with her mom permanently, then her mom remarried, and now she kind of stays in Maddie's room so she's not with them.

I feel bad for her though, because she's so loved and doesn't even realize it, which is why she uses guys for the attention she feels like she lacks.

"Oh my word." I whisper as I sigh. "Who's the dad? Maddie I have to know." I whisper as she sighs.

"His name is Reed Ghraming. He's a major piece of crap, I don't have a problem admitting he's rather very attractive but I love Paxton and that's not changing. He's a typical ladies man, he charmed Izzy out of her underwear when she broke up with number fifteen or whatever, and was emotional. Ten drinks at a party, a huge house with no parents, and a one night stand later, she's here." She tells me as I sigh. That girl, she's probably going crazy.

"I hate that. I mean I'll love her baby and all but her life, it's going to change forever." I whisper to Maddie as she nods.

"What about college plans?" I ask as she sighs. "I have no idea, but I know she's considering giving it up for adoption or maybe even abortion before it's got a heartbeat." She whispers as I sigh.

"I'll talk to her. You know her parents probably won't." I tell her. Looking at what's happened to Izzy, I'm so glad Jax and I worked through everything. Because I never could imagine something like this happening to her and now that it is, I don't even know what to do.

"Thanks mom." She whispers before looking at her watch. "Uhh, I'm so sorry. I'm late for my AP biology online class. I have to finish it." She tells me pulling her computer back up as I kiss her head.

"Alright I love you sweetheart. Come and get me when you're done." I tell her as she nods and I back away out of the office. The first thing I do is immediately dial Jax's number.

"Hi babe, Come home." I tell him in the phone when he starts, "Why? What's wrong?" He asks out of breath meaning he's working out, again today.

"Our daughter just shared some news with my regarding Izzy." I tell him as he sighs. "What has that girl done now?" He asks as I hear Lance and Kurt boxing behind him.

"Fucking the baseball team" Lance yells as I hear Jax yell at him for cussing. "Shut up" he tells him before he starts talking to me again.

"I'll be home soon." He tells me before telling me he loves me and hanging up.

When he comes home I tell him everything and I'm not shocked he's angry because we've really been taking care of her for months and Jax has been really helping her focus on school and fixing her GPA before she leaves for college, the only thing her dads looking forward to. I'm so glad I didn't end up with that man, he's only worried about shipping Izzy off so he can fuck his wife.

"Goodness." He whispers while I rub his shoulder blade. "We'll just have to help her figure it out." He tells me as I nod. I lean on his shoulder rubbing it when we hear the front door open and our boys footsteps in the kitchen, meaning they are still eating us out of house and home.

"They never stop eating." I tell Jax as he laughs. He's made the boys gym fanatics, and buff doesn't even describe them, they're gigantic. And tall, oh my gosh both of them are six foot five, Lance being a little bit taller at six foot six.

Both play basketball, and even with their age gap, they're still best friends. Doesn't help me though that they look exactly like Jax, outgrowing their baby faces meaning many girls hang around them. None of which have kept their attention. Especially not Lance, he spends most of his time picking at Izzy.

"I know it. Lance hit two forty today." He tells me as I sigh and smile. Lance has been working really hard for it, he deserves it.

"I guess we better figure out what to do with Izzy, we can't throw her out but she's not our child and she might not have anywhere to go if we do. I don't know what to do." I tell him as he kisses my head.

"She's hiding something in this situation and we will find out." He tells me kissing me on the lips.

"I know it and I feel like something is up." I tell him before he nods in agreement. "We will get answers, until then, I missed being between these thighs this morning." He whispers before he pulls me to him and is throwing off my shorts.

I'm at work two weeks later when I'm searching through files looking for my specific one. I search through my entire office before realizing that it must be in my bag at home, I haven't had it anywhere else, and it could have only fell in my bag with the paperwork or something.

I close and lock my office when I start driving home. The kids are at school, and it shouldn't take long at all. I'm shocked when I pull into the driveway to see Izzy's car, one of the gifts her dad bought her to bribe her for a graduation present, and Lance's truck. Maddie's car is also in the garage freaking me out a bit.

I open the backdoor and the whole house it quiet. I walk to the living room and see Maddie laying on the couch holding her stomach as I stop over her. "Skipped school?" I ask as I look at her pale face. She's sick.

"Period hit so hard this time. I called the doctor and got an excuse but I don't feel well at all." She tells me as I immediately walk into the kitchen grabbing iron supplements, period cramp pills, vitamins, and Orange juice.

"These." I tell her kissing her head as she nods and takes them before laying back on the couch with the heating pad on her stomach.

"Why are Lance and Izzy here?" I ask her as she looks up at me confused. "What? When?" She asks as I stare at her and then I realize what's been going on in my home. She realizes what I think at the same time when I stop her from starting.

"Walk with me upstairs. And so help me god." I whisper to her as she immediately storms off towards the stairs with me. I walk up them quietly and go to Lance's door before cracking the edge.

I don't find them sleeping together which makes me feel better, but I do walk in with Maddie and stand outside of his bathroom door as he stands over the toilet holding Izzy's hair back as she pukes her guts out.

"I told you not to fuck that bastard." He tells her as Maddie holds my arm.

"Why? Huh? I fucked you and you acted like I didn't matter afterwards. Guess what I'm knocked up and he's got to be the baby daddy, the timeline with you doesn't line up. And contrary to what the county thinks about me, I haven't slept with anyone but you in years. And now him." She tells him when my heart cracks and I look over at Maddie who has tears whelping in her eyes. Her best friend and brother.

"Maddie's going to find out." He tells her holding her hair back when she instantly pales and lunges for the toilet again. I remember that morning sickness, I just hate I didn't know they were having sex, in my house.

"She can't Lance. I love her to death, and I love you too but I can't choose. You didn't pick me, you picked fucking everyone else, and you hurt me. So I fucked him and look what happened. This is your fault, why wasn't I good enough huh? I lost my virginity to you when I was fifteen Lance! I would have only stayed with you if you ever loved me!" She tells him as tears fall down her face. I continue holding Maddie who's know crying as I keep her quiet.

"I do love you Izzy, but Maddie. She'd fucking kill us, especially since you're pregnant, and fuck I know I messed up but I'm not ready to be a dad, even if it's not mine." He tells her as she instantly cries harder. She doesn't have a minute to respond before Maddie pulls out of my arms and yanks the door open.

Instantly Lance, his face pales when he sees Maddie crying, and Izzy sits there, crying as well. "You lied to me." Maddie tells her as she sighs and then nods.

"Fuck both of you. My best friend Lance? My best friend! And you! My brother? We have given you a life and you do this shit to me? Fuck you." She spits out walking out past me as I stare at Lance, disappointed more than anything.

"This isn't over, but fix it right now." I spit out to him pointing to the door where his sister just went out of. I stand in the doorway with Izzy balling her eyes out as I cross my arms.

"I'm sorry." She whispers as I clinch my jaw. "Izzy. Get out of my house. You've hurt my daughter and apparently have been fucking my son when I gave you a home. I'm disappointed." I tell her as she nods.

"Me too." She tells me before she flushes the toilet. She wipes her mouth crying before she looks at me pale, and instantly falls back into the floor hovering over the toilet.

I walk out leaving her with her morning sickness when I make my way downstairs. What the fuck has happened?

Lance needs to explain this all, and I know he will, and it better be soon.
