Alpha Nicholas's POV

I got myself together and my way down to the ballroom although I felt a little off, I was greeted by my fellow pack members. I smiled and nodded.

"Hello Alpha!"

"Hey Alpha Nicholas welcome back!" I keep walking towards my mate. I stumbled across a group of high school girls. "Hi Alpha were glad your back, you were truly missed." One of the blondes said more liked purred. I shook my head, where are their parents?

"My mate and I are glad to be back, girls if you'll excuse me." I said walking around them. It seems the pledge went well, everyone seemed to be getting along.

I made my way on to the stage as my mother called for everyone’s attention. Hannah smiled from ear to ear. She was so happy and I was too. Everything I ever wanted was right in my grasp. I would never let something so great be lost. I grabbed her hand and walked to the front of the stage and grabbed the mic.

“You ready?” I whispered to her she nodded happily.

"Wait let me link Nate I want him up here." She nodded he was like my brother. I needed him by my side. 'Nate man I need my brother up here with me to share the news.' I smiled to myself finally everything is falling into place. 'Of course man I'm on my way.'

Once Nate was beside me I wrapped my arm around Hannah kissing her head. "This is it man, you ready?" Nate asked I nodded. "Yeah this the beginning of great things for my family." I said looking at my pack.

"Gather around everyone, as you know me and Hannah have been trying to grow our family. The moon goddess above have blessed us." I said as smiled formed on my fellow pack members. I smiled looking at everyone in the crowd. Everyone wanting to know the big news.

"Hannah and I are happy to announce we are having a ba... " I froze as my gaze landed on the most beautiful brunette I have ever seen. My wolf sadly howling.

'mate.'

At that moment all that was in the room was me and my 'mate' I couldn't look away, until I felt someone tugging on my arm.

"Nicky! What's wrong? Are you getting sick again?" Hannah said looking me over making sure I was okay. That's when everything came back and reality hit. I cleared my throat. I force the words out of my mouth. The whole time my wolf forcing me to look directly at her.

"We're having a baby." I said nervously. The pack broke out in chows and applauses. I was being hugged by different people. I lost sight of her. I searched the crowd for her my eyes focused in on those pricing green eyes I caught them for a second, and she took off.

"Congrats man!" Nate said giving me a hug. "Who was that girl in the black dress next to Christine?" I asked him. "That my brother is my lady and our new pack member Alexa Rose." He said with a smile I had to hold back a growl from escaping my lips.

"So that's the girl that's got you changing your ways?" I said as nonchalant as I could. "Yeah man that's my girl and I love her man." I nodded. "Let me go find her, I'll talk to you later Nick."

I watched as he walked off to our group friends. I used wolf hearing to focus in on them. "Where'd she go?" Nate asked. "Nate she needed some air all this was very overwhelming for her. She said she'll come find you." Christine told him. I turned to go in search of her when I bumped into Hannah who was looking at me with concern.

"Nicky, what's wrong baby ever since we came back you've been on edge and I’m starting to worried." I smiled down at her this women in front of me was my first love my mate. I was going to find Alexa and explain. "I’m fine I’m going to take a walk I just need some air." I said placing a kiss on her lips. "Do you want me to come with you baby?"

"No!" I said louder then intended. Her brows knitted together. I smooth them out with my finger.

"I don't want you outside it's getting cold I don't need you getting sick. I'll be back soon." She nodded and I walked out the back doors.

'What are you going to do?' My wolf asked.

'I don't know.' I said honestly because I didn't. Following that amazing scent I smelt earlier at Nate's place. I found her by the falls she was leaning against the trunk of a weeping willow. Her arms wrapped around herself trying to savor some warmth. Her hair and dress blowing with the wind of the falls. She made this view even more beautiful. I walked closer until she spoke.

"Dont!" She said her tone laced with hurt. I let out a deep sigh this was not going to be easy. I had every right to step to her she was mine. I was sharing the same thoughts as my wolf.

"What do mean? Your my mate! I think I have a every fuck'en right to come looking for you." I growled she let out a chuckle shaking her head.

"This isn't a joke to me. You being here changes things!" I said because it did she was here and she is with my best friend my beta. She whipped her head towards me her eyes laced with fury.

"No! ALPHA this changes nothing. You and I are nothing! You will walk away and go back to your very pregnant mate!" I winced as she called me Alpha.

"I know you probably hate me now, but you don’t understand. I never thought I would find you I waited, you never came so when I turned Alpha I needed a mate to make me stronger." I said

"Does everyone know she's not your true mate?" She asked in a shaky tone. I stayed quite this was killing her more then me and I hated myself for that I wanted so bad to wrap her in my arms."Answer me?!" No one knew because it was a secret between me and Hannah.

"No! Just her we never told anyone."

"So you lied to these people? The people who are supposed to trust you! What about her mate? What if he pops up out of nowhere? You both messed up … big time" She was getting stronger with her demanding questions like a true Luna. I never told anyone this and here I was spilling it all out to my mate. The moon goddess must really hate me.

"Her mate was killed back when we were in college! So he won't being popping up anytime soon." She was shocked I wasn't sure if it was the fact that Hannah's mate was killed or that I marked her as my mate.

"So why come after me? You obviously have your life planned out.”

“I had to see you, my wolf has been crazy ever since I got back, and now I know why. It was you.” God she was beautiful, she was mine.

“You know what you have to do. We've already started the bond, by locking eyes, and being this close isn't helping. I don't want the bond to grow any further."

"What?! What you asking me to do?" She stepped closer to me her scent hit me like a ton of bricks. My canines elongated at the thought of licking her marking area. I was brought out of my thoughts when she said it.

"Reject me as your mate." She hissed I stumbled the words alone took the wind out of me. I shook my head I can't I won't do it. She gave me a death look.

"I can't." I stated.

"Excuse me? What do you mean you can't?"

I walk closer to her. I wanted to find away for my hands to touch silky smooth skin. "Don't touch me!" She growled. I stood firm on my decision.

""I am not going to reject my mate! You belong to me. I’ve waited for this I can’t walk away!" He yelled.

"You've waited?! Are you fucking kidding me! You’re an asshole. You didn't give two shits about your true mate you when went and sunk your canines into another changing destiny and choosing your own damn mate! You made your bed now lay in it with your chosen mate!"

I stayed quiet she had every right to lash out at me and if she only wanted to use me as a punching bag I would take that any day as long I was in her life. Even if that meant leaving her with Nate.

"You can’t let me stuffer living in this pack knowing my mate is mated to someone else and having baby. If you have any ounce of respect for me you will do this." She said with a sob. She closed her eyes for a second. "Please... " She whispered as she blink back tears. It hurt me that I was doing this to her hearing her beg was what gave me the strength I had to do this.

I walked over to her I searched her face looking at every detail to savor a image of her in my heart. "Your beautiful." I whispered. "Even if I reject you the pull will always be there." She stared at me for a second. "As long as we stay away from each other we should have that much of my problem." She said. I couldn't help myself I reached out with my hand and cupped her face. Every nerve in my body sprung to life. It felt so good I closed my eyes because I knew I would never be able to get this close. Taking a deep breath I said the words that burned my soul as they came out.

"I Nicholas Salvatore... Reject you Alexa Rose as my mate." I whispered the last words. I watched as a single tear slid down her face as much as I wanted to wipe the tear away I couldn't. I might do something I would regret. She stepped away from me I felt the warmth leave me. I prepared myself for the next words that would come out her mouth.

"I Alexa Rose reject Nicholas Salvatore's as my mate." I stumbled back as my wolf howled in agony. She turned away from me, and turned away from her, but there was one thing I wanted to know. I had to know how far there relationship had gone.

"Are you sleeping with him?" She stopped and looked over her shoulder.

"That does not concern you. What I have with Nate is none of your business. You lost every right to ask anything of me." She turned and walked away. I stood on the same spot for I don't know how long. She was right I choose this life, now I’m stuck watching my mate run to my beta, my brother, my best friend.

I finally managed find my way back into the ballroom. I needed a drink walking towards the bar I saw Nate with my mate in his arms. My blood boiled as I watched him comfort her. His hands touching places I never would. She savored his touch he nuzzled her neck. My wolf growled I needed to break that up.

"What's up guys?" I said as Nate turned from Alexa. She seemed to tense up but paid no attention to me, before I could get another word in I was cut short by Christine.

"Come on girls let’s dance!" She said while grabbing Alexa and Gemma to the dance floor.

"What's going on daddy to be?" Adam said handing me a drink, which I gulped down.

"I’m good Adam. When are you going to start having pups? You ain't getting any younger my dude." I said taking a gulp of my drink. I don't know what it was but I needed something stronger. I leaned my elbows on the bar facing the dance for. My gazed went straight to Alexa I groaned as she swayed her body to the beat. She was so hot her body was amazing I could only imagine how she was in bed. I was brought out of my thoughts when Nate spoke. "Excuse me fellas but that hot piece over there is calling my name." He said slapping my back. I swallowed down a snarl as he walked away. The guys laughed and had no idea mind the internal battle I was having not to go and rip Nate's arms off his body.

He whispered something in her ears causing her to grind her body against him. Whatever she was thinking had her arousal scent lingering in the air. I growled and shattered the glass cup in my hands I was livid. "Whoa! Buddy what pissed you off?" Marcus questioned. "Nothing!" I growled and walked away.

I walked over to Hannah who was sitting eating various desserts. I smiled what was I going to do with her. "Hannah, why are all these desserts here?" I questioned in teasing tone. She huffed. "This baby loves sweets I couldn't decided which one to choose from so I took them all." She said while popping a cake ball in her mouth. "It's time for the couples swap dance. Let’s go Nate promised me a dance." She said dragging me towards the dance floor. I didn't know if this was a bad or a good thing, but it was another opportunity to be close with Alexa.

As we made our way Nate and Alexa. I couldn’t help but thank whoever came up with this dance. A chance to be with her even if it’s for one song. "Hello Alexa, I am leaving you in the hands of my mate. He'll take care you and I will be taking this hunk off your hands, Come on Nate." Hannah stated happily. I caught Alexa tense when Hannah said 'mate' she didn't want to be left with me, well that was to bad I snaked my arms around her waist and pulled her close to my body. I knew her wolf enjoyed my touch rather then Nate's. She tried pushing some space between us but held her hips in place.

"You need to relax, your body is extremely tense." I stated as my hands enjoyed the feel of her perfect body. She placed her hands on my shoulders. The sparks between us were inevitable. It was like a soothing touch for my wolf. I wanted her to know that her and Nate little show didn't go unseen.

"I don't think I can handle seeing you with him." I whispered in her ears she shivered. I hope she was enjoying this as much as I was, but I got my answer. "Fuck you!" She spat and pushed me away walking off. I bit my lip damn her feistiness was a turn on I felt a twitched in my pants. I watched her swish her ass till she disappeared outside.

"Nicky, I am so ready to head upstairs I'm physically drained." Hannah said as she approached me from behind. I wrapped her arms around me I brought my lips to hers she smiled. "I will stay here and make sure everything is cleaned and settled but I’ll walk you up." She nodded and we made our way to our floor.

"So what did you think of Nate's girlfriend?" Hannah asked. I really didn't know how to answer that.

"She's just like him very angry and stubborn." I stated which was the truth. "Nicholas!" She said slapping my chest. I laughed wrapping my arms around her. "Well he had nothing but good things to say he seems very serious about her, so get used to having her around our circle." I groaned she had no idea. Once at the door I gave Hannah a quick kiss. "I'll be back in a bit." She nodded with a yawn waving me off.

Making my way back down I passed I back yard windows and heard screams then snarls. I felt sharp pain on my neck and I took off running. I made my way outside to find Addison and a beautiful colored grey white wolf. It then dawned on me this was Alexa. I was pissed because the only reason they could be going at it is because of Nate. They were about to go at each other when I gave the Alpha command.

"ENOUGH!"

"What is the meaning of this?" I questioned I even though I can guess. I heard Nate growl from behind. It was intended for Addison. I watched as Alexa was able to calm Nate, jealousy washed over me. He turned to her.

"Alexa are you okay?" Nate asked. She must have been talking to him through mind link.

"I will take her with me Alpha." Nate stated. Oh no, I don't think so. He is taking her nowhere until I get my answer. "No you will not I asked a question and I want an answer." I growled at him.

"Shift NOW!" Nate's eyes narrowed at me. 'What the hell man?' He linked me. Alexa nuzzled his tux he then took it off stood in front of her as she shifted. I was shaking with fury because my mate was naked in front of another male and blocking my view of her.

I walked over to Nate I was going to rip his fucking eyes out for looking at my mate. They both turned to face me with two shocked expressions.
