The dark-haired woman narrowed her gaze at the screen as she scrolled through all of the possible missions that could bring in the thing that could help Fayre with what it was that she was attempting to do. Poppy knew that it was going to be difficult for her to figure out what it was that she was searching for, but she knew that she was going to have to find it. She knew that she was going to have to do her very best to help her friend, otherwise, she was going to feel like the worst person to walk the Earth.
Goose sat in the bed that he had in the room and Poppy glanced over toward the Flerken for a few seconds before Poppy pressed her lips together. She knew that it was going to be a long night and there were going to be a lot of things that she was going to have to do. A lot of files that she was going to have to dig into and a lot of other work that S.H.I.E.L.D probably wouldn't want her to do. But that was alright because that meant that she was going to be helping her friend. Fayre knew her responsibilities as a S.H.I.E.L.D agent, and she knew that what she was doing could get her into a lot of trouble, but she didn't care. She had to do whatever it was that she could in order to make sure that she could protect Fayre, no matter what it was that happened.
A heavy sigh left her lips as she tilted her head to the side as she stared at the computer screen until she believed that she had found something. She sat up in her seat and she reached for the mouse and she began to type in a few code words and phrases before she called in someone to her office. That was when they made their way into her office and Poppy turned her attention over to James Stark and Taryn Nichol and she gave the two of them a smile as they stepped into her office.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Poppy," James spoke as he stared at the woman in front of him before he gave her a look with a quirked brow. The man glanced over to Taryn for a few seconds, and as they stood there, Grayson stepped into the room and looked over to the other two in the room, before back over to Poppy. "what's going on?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "I have a mission and I need to send the three of you on it," Poppy explained to them and all of them glanced at each other for a few seconds, before looking back to the woman. She pressed her lips together for a few seconds before she looked over to the table in her office. "There's a file on that table for you guys to look at and it has all of the information that you guys need."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Is this for Fayre?" Grayson questioned as she lifted her eyes off of the file as she read it for a few seconds, before looking back up to Poppy. The woman stared at her for a few seconds, and Poppy nodded her head to her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Yes," Poppy answered her as she stood up from her desk and folded her arms over her chest. "I believe that this artifact is what Fayre needs in order to reverse the effects of what had given her the immortality that she has. If we're able to get our hands on it as soon as possible, then we might be able to help her."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "So, you want us to go out and get it and bring it back for her?" Taryn questioned and Poppy nodded her head to her. Taryn glanced back down at the file for a few seconds before she closed it and lifted her attention back to the woman in front of them. "Done." She nodded her head as she looked over to the other two in the room. "We'll head out tonight and we should be able to have it back here by tomorrow afternoon . . . night at the latest."

The three of them gave Poppy a look for a few seconds before they made their way out of her office. The woman stood at the front of her office for a moment, before she turned her back toward her desk and let out a heavy sigh. There were so many things that were going through her mind as she glanced around her office for a few seconds before she took a seat at her desk.
She knew that the three of them were going to be able to get the job done and they were going to be able to bring the artifact back in time. She reached for her hair and she ran her fingers through it for a few seconds, before resting her head against the surface of her desk. A few moments went by as she let out a heavy sigh, before sitting back in her chair. She was exhausted from going through all of the files that she had on her computer regarding all of the missions that were about to go through, and she knew that there was someone else that she was going to have to talk to.
And the next person that she was going to send out on a mission was going to have a lot of work to do. Poppy had to make sure that there weren't going to be any complications with the next mission that she was going to approve, and that meant that she was going to have to spend more time staring at the computer screen that she had in front of her.
Hopefully, she was going to make sure that the next mission was going to go smoothly, for all of the parties that were involved.

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
