They believed that they had found everyone that they were going to need to make up the superhero team that the world needed to protect them, but there always seemed to be more and more heroes popping up over the globe. There was always someone else that would appear in the world for S.H.I.E.L.D to recruit for the Avengers, and that was exactly what they did. They did whatever it was that they could to make a team that would be the first response team to ensure the safety of everyone around them.
Poppy was always the right-hand woman to Nick Fury, and she was always one of the first people that would make sure that the new heroes would be in tip-top shape for the wars to come. She was the one that helped make sure that all of the Avengers were safe, no matter what it was that was going to make their way toward them. But the longer that she helped S.H.I.E.L.D with everything that was going on around her, she couldn't help but miss Carol Danvers.
Carol Danvers, the woman from Earth with a mission in the stars.
The dark-haired woman knew that she was going to see her again and that she was going to be able to help her when they were reunited. Poppy wanted to be there for her when she was going to find her way back to Earth and to see that everything she and Nick Fury had done for S.H.I.E.L.D. The Avengers were important to Poppy and she would've done whatever it was that she could to make sure that all of them were safe. Even after everything that had happened to them.
Brainwashing, kidnapping, experimentation – the works. The Avengers were a broken band of misfits, but they were a family that would've done anything to protect each other, as well as the world that they lived on.

Poppy found herself standing in front of a large board and she clenched her jaw as she stared up at the hologram board in front of her. So much had happened in the world as she stared up at the board, but she couldn't help but wonder where in the galaxy Carol Danvers was. She wanted to be able to be with her and she wanted to continue to build the relationship that the two of them had with each other. But it was difficult when Poppy didn't have a damn clue where it was that the blonde-haired woman was.
She tilted her head to the side as she stared up at the board before there was a knock on the doorframe and Poppy glanced over her shoulder to meet Nick Fury's gaze. The two of them stared at each other for a few seconds, before giving him a small smile. The man with the eye patch walked into the room and looked up at the board before he shook his head.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "I see that you're still looking for our Captain Marvel," Nick commented as he nodded his head toward the board and Poppy let out a sigh.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Nick—"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Yeah, yeah, I know," Nick cut her off as he held a hand up to her as he stared at the brunette. "You want to know where it is that she is to make sure that she's safe with the mission that she's on," The man dug in his pocket as he held the pager that the woman had given him years prior, before wiggling it. "She gave us this, remember?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Yes," Poppy nodded as she folded her arms over her chest. "but that was intended for emergencies, and emergencies only. And I don't think my heart missing her is a real reason to press that button and to bring her back to Earth," She inhaled deeply for a few seconds, before letting out a heavy sigh. "I just wish that she was safe and that there was no bump in the plans that she has for the Skrulls."

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "If anyone is going to be safe with a mission like that, it's Carol," Nick commented, and that was when a meow echoed in the room, and Nick glanced over to see that Goose jumped up on Poppy's desk. Nick let out a heavy sigh as he looked over at Goose, before meeting her eyes. "Did you really bring him back to work?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "What? Afraid you're going to lose your last good eye?" Poppy snickered jokingly as she stared at him as she made her way over toward her desk and scratching Goose's head. She glanced down to the Flerken that purred as she scratched the top of his head. "He's a good boy, he's not going to hurt you again."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Nick stared at the Flerken for a few seconds, before lifting his eye back up to her, "Alright, then you're the one that has to clean up after him," He let out a small chuckle as the two of them stared at each other before he nodded his head to the door. "We do have a meeting in an hour, so please make sure that you're not late, alright?"
Poppy nodded her head to the Director before she turned her attention back over to the hologram board. She watched as Carol Danvers' dot on the screen continued to jump around the galaxy before she shook her head. She glanced down to the Flerken that sat on the desk before she gave Goose a small smile. The Flerken stared up at her for a few seconds and she began to scratch the creature's neck before she shook her head as she looked back up at the board.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Where the hell are you, Carol . . . "Poppy breathed as she stared up at the board before she let out a sigh.
She returned to the work that she was doing before she turned her attention to where in the universe that Carol was, and she began to gather all of the paperwork that was sprawled out across her desk. Goose watched as she began to clean up everything that sat on the desk before she began to make her way out of her office. With the orange tabby Flerken following right after her.

Sporemageddon
Why survive the apocalypse when you can become the apocalypse? Nature is dying, but perhaps before the world is turned into an industrious machine nature itself can play one final trump card to save itself. Summoned to a new world, a mushroom loving mycologist needs to grow up and grow stronger in order to accomplish the goal which brought them to this new place: to save nature from the system that the sentient races have created. Stats, levels, classes and skills are all well and good, but when you’re a Child of Poverty in the slums of City Nineteen, there’s little you can do to change the world. Not unless you’re willing to think outside the box! This story contains lots of cute stuff, but also some tragedy. If you’re expecting it to be as light and carefree as Cinnamon Bun or Heart of Dorkness, you might find yourself disappointed.

Essence Eater (A Super Progression Fantasy)
Gods. Demons. Aliens. Superheroes. Supervillains.Consume them all for power. Eighty years have passed since WW2, when Prime took to the skies and ended the war. No one knows what gave him his power, or what birthed the wave of supers that came after. Some claimed the nuclear bombs dropped in Japan cracked the barrier between Universes, allowing alien energies to enter the dimension. Others believed the wars finally triggered what humanity needed to reach a new stage of evolution. Daniel Das lives with his uncle in post-super London, the League of Hero's primary hub. He's spent all of his twenty-one years pushing himself, training in martial arts and studying supers, hoping he'll awaken his metagene and gain super powers. The cut-off age is close, but he hasn't yet awakened superpowers. Meanwhile, the League is steadily losing parts of the city to the growing villain factions. Daniel's uncle wishes to keep him away from the world of supers, but with the hot zones closing in, that's easier said than done. There are villains selling unregulated superpowers to gangs and dark days are on the horizon. Despite his limitations, there is no stopping Daniel. He is ravenous for power. If needed, he will ally with demons if they give him the power to protect his family and home. -------------------------------- This world building is heavily inspired by Worm and The Boys. It features dark, realistic storylines, corporation-funded heroes, and villains who aren't necessarily bad guys. The protagonist's powerset involves the crowd-favourite consuming enemies for power trope, too. The GameLit/LitRPG elements are super light and takes a while to kick in. The powercreep is slow as well since I don't enjoy overpowered protagonists. Chapters everyday until book 1 is complete. The schedule will change once I reach that point.
