Nico, Will, Thalia, and Reyna listened as Percy told them about what was going on. The sea green eyed girl told the group about Esther, the Mikaelsons, and anything that recently happened.
The demigods were gathered in the kitchen, away from the others at the ball.
"Wow." Reyna commented.
Thalia nodded in agreement. "So, the evil witch lady wants to kill her children?"
"Yeah. Pretty much." The raven haired beauty replied.
Percy looked at the group. "Where's Wise Girl?"
"I saw her talking with a blonde earlier." Nico shrugged.
Rebekah?
The green eyed girl grinned. "Okay, let's go investigate."
The demigods walked back into the area where the rest of the party was being held.
About fifteen feet away, Elena was dancing with Stefan.
Are they dating again?
Percy pointed them out to her friends. "That's Elena and Stefan."
"The guy who threatened to drive you off a bridge." Thalia said as she narrowed her eyes at the pair. "I could totally take him down if you want."
Percy shook her head with an amused smile. "Nah. We have more important things to worry about."
"Murdering someone for a friend is very important."
The daughter of the sea laughed.
Reyna spoke, "I think we found Annabeth."
The sea green eyed girl looked over. "Where?"
Will pointed towards something.
Percy brought her gaze to where he pointed.
Rebekah and Annabeth were standing close to each other. Annabeth said something that made the original start laughing.
I really am better than Cupid.
"They're adorable." Will commented.
The raven haired beauty smiled.
Reyna questioned. "What's the ship name?"
"Rebekah and Annabeth. Rebeth?" The sea green eyed girl attempted.
Nico suggested. "Annabekah."
The group laughed at the names.
Cuties.
Will held his hand out to the son of Hades. "Wanna dance?"
Nico wasn't normally the type to dance in public places. But, Will sent him a smile that made any of his resolve break.
Nico placed his hand in Will's.
The pair went back out to the dance floor, where other couples were slow dancing.
The dark haired boy tried not to show the smile that spread across his cheeks, but failed. The two were incredibly cute together.
Adorable.

About an hour later, almost all of the guests had left.
Percy entered the kitchen in search of more food. Sadly, the snack table had run out of appetizers.
She reached out her hand to open a cabinet, but felt a sharp pain in her chest.
Ow.
The demigod dismissed it, and picked up a box of crackers.
Suddenly, it felt as though she was consumed by fire.
Scorching burns seemed to stamp on her skin.
She looked down to see nothing wrong with her body.
That's weird.
Her eyes squeezed shut as she felt like she was being stabbed.
Klaus entered the room. "Percy?" He walked towards her.
Her heart began pounding in her chest. Sharp pains erupted across her skin.
Her hands started shaking as she felt the burning sensation consume her.
What the heck is happening?

The hybrid noticed the look of pain on her face. "Are you alright, love?"
The raven haired beauty mumbled. "Something's wrong." She stumbled her way out the back door.
The soft breeze outside didn't help with the pain that took over her.
She felt as though she was being stabbed across her whole body.
Klaus was worried. "Love? What's wrong?"
She winced slightly as the pain continued. It felt like all of her old scars were opening up.
A figure appeared from the shadows near the house. The original witch stepped forward. "Half breeds need to learn not to interfere with things that don't concern them."
The demigod felt the agony increase.
Witches are so annoying.
Klaus tried to speed at the original witch, only for an invisible force field to stop him in his attempt.
"I will kill you." Klaus seethed at his mother.
Esther ignored him.
The other Mikaelson siblings arrived, but they too, were stopped from approaching the witch or Percy.
Esther stepped closer to the demigod, and Percy winced in pain. Esther continued mumbling a spell under her breath.
"Bitch." The sea green eyed girl mumbled.
The witch had a fake smile etched across her features. "You are just as much of an abomination as my children."
"Okay, Easter."
Esther glared at her. "It's Esther."
Whatever, Eggs Benedict.
The daughter of the sea stayed on her feet, despite the immense ache. The ground began shaking beneath her.
Her friends rushed outside after hearing the commotion. The demigods tried to run towards her.
However, a tall figure appeared out of thin air before they could.
The man's presence caused Esther's magic to stop working on Percy. He had dark hair, unmistakable green eyes, and a beard.
Once the witch realized her spell was no longer affecting the demigod, she used her magic to transport herself somewhere else, fleeing the scene.
With the spell broken, Klaus rushed toward Percy. His eyes were full of panic as he gently held her. "Are you alright, love?"
The sea green eyed girl looked into his blue eyes. Before she could respond, a powerful voice spoke. "Who is this?"
Percy glanced over to see someone she wasn't expecting.
"Dad?"
"Hello, my daughter. It's been a while." The god of the sea replied.
The demigod blinked in disbelief.
Schist.

The god looked at Klaus with disgust. "Why is a boy holding you and calling you 'love?'"
Percy rolled her eyes. "It's not a big deal. Calm down."
Poseidon brought his gaze back to his daughter. "Are you dating?" He asked as though the concept was the most horrible idea in the world.
"No. But you have no say in who I date anyways." The green eyed girl sassed.
The sea god's brows furrowed as he continued making excuses. "But aren't you too young for relationships?"
Percy shook her head. "I'm twenty. How is that too young?"
"But you're my daughter." He said in another attempt to convince her that dating is 'bad.' "I don't believe there's anyone worthy of your heart."

Percy shook her head again. "You're being weird."
Poseidon sighed and glanced at the hybrid. "I need to speak with my daughter. You can go."
Klaus looked back at Percy. He wouldn't leave unless he knew she was okay. "If you want me to stay, love-"
The demigod sent him a small smile and shook her head. "Nah. We're fine."
And Poseidon may attack you.
Klaus examined her eyes again, before stepping away. He glanced at the god.
He opened his mouth to introduce himself, but Poseidon stared at him with deadly eyes. "I know who you are."
What?
"How?" Percy questioned.
Poseidon shook his head.
Stalker.
The hybrid locked eyes with Percy one last time, before returning back to the house.
"Hey! You good?" Thalia asked loudly from where she was standing, near the side of the house.
The raven haired beauty glanced over at her friends and laughed. "I'm okay."
Annabeth directed the group back inside the house.
Poseidon glanced back over at her. "Perhaps, tonight's events may encourage you to make a decision."
Percy's eyebrows furrowed. "Decision about what?"
The god gave her a look. It was the type of look only a parent could give. "About you becoming a goddess."
The gods had offered Percy and a few of her other friends to become gods after the war ended. She nor the other demigods had decided.
The raven haired beauty shook her head. "I don't know."
The sea god sighed.
Moving to another topic, he started, "You've befriended vampires."
"So?" Percy shrugged.
The god sighed. "I have no problem with it. But if any of them hurt you, they will be smited."
Is that even a word?
He glanced back at the house. "Especially the one who called you love."
The sea green eyed girl chuckled. "You're so dramatic."
He sent her a small smile. "It runs in the family."
Percy rolled her eyes, but the amusement was clear on her features.
Poseidon spoke, "Tell your friend about my threat. I should get back to Olympus."
Percy nodded. "Bye, Dad."
He smiled. "Goodbye, my daughter."
⇿⇿
Thalia looked at the hybrid with calculating eyes. "I heard that you're Percy's date to this event."
Klaus' eyes widened slightly. "Yes."
"Hm." The daughter of Zeus approached him.
Thalia pulled out a blade and played with it in between her fingers. "Do you know what would happen if you ever hurt her?"
When Klaus didn't immediately respond, she pushed him against the wall. The side of her arm pushed against his neck, as she wielded the knife.
The original didn't try to fight back. He met her gaze. "I would never hurt Persephone."
"Hm. And why is that?" Her voice commanded the room. She was testing him, to make sure he didn't have any ulterior motives with her friend.
Klaus's face softened as he continued. "She's the most incredible person I've ever met."
Thalia's grip loosened slightly, but her eyes were still calculating.
"And I hate seeing her in pain. She's so loving, and good, and...I could never hurt her."
The door opened as Percy walked in. She saw the situation. "You're threatening him?"
Thalia backed up. "Nah. Lover boy and I were just having a nice chat."
The raven haired beauty rolled her eyes and walked forward to stand next to the hybrid. She sent a look at Thalia.
The hunter of Artemis sighed, before throwing her hands in the air dramatically and leaving the room.
Percy glanced back at the original with an amused smile. "You okay?"
His eyes looked over her face. "I'm fine, love."
"You know, you can ignore her. All of us are just a bit protective of each other." The demigod assured him.
Klaus nodded. "Are you sure you're alright? My mother-"
"I'm fine." She laughed.
The demigod didn't take the witch seriously.
She sat on top of the counter. "Oh, by the way, my dad might have told me, to tell you, that he would smite you, if given a reason to."
Klaus leaned against the counter, only inches away from her. "Should I be worried, love?"
The raven haired beauty shook her head. "Nah, I'll protect you." She blew him a kiss and sent him a playful smile.
He caught it and placed his hand on his cheek. "My hero." The hybrid spoke with a cocky smile.
Percy grinned. "You bet."

Thalia wandered around the mansion with Annabeth.
The daughter of Zeus spoke, "I still want to kick someone's ass."
Annabeth chuckled.
They continued walking and spotted the doppelgänger.
Thalia moved forward. "Hey, it's Elena, right?"
The brunette looked back and forth between the two. "Uh, yeah." She tried walking by the demigods.
Thalia stood in the way. "Were you working with the witch to hurt Percy?"
Elena scoffed. "She had the opportunity to be on our side. She chose wrong." The doe eyed girl tried to walk by Thalia.
Thalia kicked her knee in, causing the doppelgänger to fall to her knees. The demigod twisted her arm backwards.
Annabeth pulled Thalia away from the brunette. She held out her hand for Elena.
Elena looked at her with distrust, but allowed Annabeth to help her up. A moment later, the daughter of Athena judo flipped the girl to the ground. "Don't hurt our friend."
Thalia wrapped her arm around Annabeth's shoulders and led them out of the room.

AHAHHAHAHA. This chapter is a whole mess. Well, actually the entire book is. But, whatever.
Anyways, y'all are the coolest.
@Krutika2311 wanted Thalia or Annabeth to take down Elena. And I was thinking, why not both?
@alinkaroohan wanted Thalia to meet Klaus.
@jazy_jay wanted to see some Annabekah action.
@DakotaDianeWarren and @MichelleRoth1312 wanted Poseidon to come and help/ be overprotective of Percy.
They also liked the idea of the lovely Persephone becoming a goddess, which is something I had planned before I started writing the book. But, of course, nothing is official yet.
Thank you for all of the suggestions and support.
I still haven't decided who to pair Reyna with, but we'll figure it out.

Nero Zero
Monsters plagued the lands for too long. No matter if one had fangs, beak, teeth, skin, fur, or feather, or was tall, stout, or diminutive, the people suffered. Until the Gadgeteers came with a device that could allow people to fight back. Powered by one's own magical power, feeding off of monster Essence, the Arbitrium bracer turned the tables. It also changed society. Strength of one's level cap was all that mattered. The strongest were Kings and Emperors. The weak or those too poor to afford the marvelous device, destitute. And so it has been for millennia. All that mattered was one's level cap. High, low, a fate decided the moment the strange contraption came alive. Too high and you were a threat to those interested in keeping the status quo, a weed to be nipped before it could grow and take root. Too low and you were nobody, fated to be a bit more than a simple farmer. What if someone, somewhere, came up with a zero for their level cap? Unable to use Essence, unable to level up. On all of recorded history, it never happened. Until it did. In a small village of fur-less and tail-less ape-beastkin, a boy found out he was uniquely handicapped. Nero's level cap was Zero. But he'd never let that stop him from reaching his goals. ------------------------------------------------ All stories have already been told. We merely reuse elements from them. From Joseph Campbell's Monomith to Stephen King's advice, and that encyclopedia of tropes you've visited, fiction has been dissected and reassembled countless times. One will surely find elements inspired on other works here. Just like cooking from basic ingredients, the recipe and presentation is what really matter. This is a fantasy adventure, of someone that goes from a zero to a slightly bigger zero. It will have romance but no harem. Cruelty but with hope dimly shining ahead. Lightweight where it can be, heavy where it must. Thanks for reading. Cover Credits (The cover is CC-BY-NC-SA): Steampunk Spider Bracer, by Daniel Proulx. However, if you guys think that it needs more dialogue, I'll be happy to input that. Although I say that, the following chapters that I'll be uploading will be more or less straight to the point to give a faster feeling for the plot. Decimation Mortism
17 year old high school kid Barry Allen has a brain that can't shut up. One day his mundane life gets turned around when the world as we know it ends and a new era begins. But in a very cosmic 'merge' or 'die' way. Inter dimensional energies leak causing a rift from which monsters, humans, mutants and the like emerge. Will Barry and his friends adapt to the new meta 'fight tooth and nail to survive'? or Will they succumb to the endless mysteries of the universe? Who is this Trevor guy we keep hearing about? About the Novel Decimation - end of world Mortism - is a concept, where understanding of life is better after experiencing death Fitting title for my story i suppose. I like having quirky titles for my chapters. They may sometimes have spoilers and twists, beware. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About author: I am new to writing stuff in general. I will probably have lots of grammar mistakes since English is not my first language. I am writing as a hobby. I release atleast one chapter a week. I planned volume 1 to be about 60-70 pages in my google doc. Character inspiration from myself. I literally have a brain that does not shut up. I do enjoy a lot of novels here especially : savage divinity and paladian. The cover page is my own design. I am happy with it, but feel free to suggest/show something better. I will try to do an art of my characters, especially Trevor, so you guys can also see what I see. But that will take a while. In the meantime, keep reading!
