Since that quidditch match, things had been different between Ophelia and Harry.

She found herself avoiding his eye contact and focusing on her school work much more than she used to. There was something about Harry that sparked her interest and she hated to admit it.

Harry had asked her to play chess a couple times but she always made the excuse she had to work on potions with her tutor.

Unfortunately, her worst dream came true when Snape assigned Draco Malfoy to be her tutor.

Harry almost felt betrayed for awhile. He knew Ophelia couldn't do anything about it and it was more of a pain to her, but he just wished he could have his bestfriend back.

The only time the two talked was quidditch. Ophelia hated avoiding Harry but saving his life changed a lot; she knew Harry very well and knew he would want to repay her.

Now that it was almost Christmas, everything seemed much more cheerful. Everything except Ophelias mood.

Her only entertainment during the day without Harry was studying with Draco Fucking Malfoy and sometimes chess with Hermione. Hermione insisted she talked to Harry again several times; Ophelia knew Hermione was right. She found herself feeling lonely a lot. Hermione and Ron kept her as much company as possible but Harry had always seemed to brighten her mood. Nobody noticed she was stressed either, she was good at pretending like that.

That thought made Ophelia think. If she could pretend to not be frustrated and stressed, why couldn't she pretend not to be awkward around Harry.

"Ophelia are you coming to hogsmeade? It's Christmas Eve." Hermione said grinning. The two were walking down the stairs into the common room.

Ophelia had an idea for today and honestly had no desire to go to hogsmeade and leave Harry alone.

"No. I'm gonna stay here and decorate cookies." Ophelia replied sweetly as they entered the common room.

Hermione frowned at Ophelia but quickly smiled when she saw Ron and Harry in the corner.

The two walked over to the boys quite quickly. Their footsteps were loud in the already empty common room. Many kids were back at home for Christmas and others were at hogsmeade.

"Ready to go Ronald?" Hermione asked in a giggle.

"Is Ophelia not going?" Harry asked suddenly, looking up from his shoes. Hermione knew Harry had been upset that Ophelia was avoiding him.

Hermione shook her head and grabbed Ron's arm quickly.

"See you two later!" Hermione said, already pulling Ron out the door.

Harry looked at Ophelia for a moment. All their memories, especially Halloween's were flowing back to him.

"Why do you avoid me?" He asked. He hadn't wanted to be annoying but he couldn't keep going like this.

Ophelia looked up into his eyes for the first time since the quidditch match. She had been too terrified to look into his eyes because she was worried that she wouldn't see life in them, just like how she felt the night of the match.

She held her state and didn't show she was terrified looking into his eyes. She was actually relieved.

"Harry I'm sorry." Ophelia said, containing eye contact.

"Why have you been?" Harry asked again.

Ophelia didn't want him to know but she couldn't stop herself. She trusted him a lot and he needed to know.

"I thought I lost you Harry." Ophelia said casually. She was actually shattering on the inside. She hadn't even told Hermione this.

"So you just stopped talking to me?" Harry complained, now growing frustrated.

"I thought maybe, " Ophelia began, her voice breaking slightly. She turned to walk away but Harry grabbed her wrist and turned her around.

His grip loosened and his hands slid around her body, pulling her into a hug.

"You wouldn't see life in my eyes when you looked?" Harry finished Ophelias sentence. "You don't have to bottle everything up."

Ophelia buried her head in his chest for a moment. It was a pure moment; she was just happy her bestfriend was back.

"I'm sorry." Ophelia whispered sincerely. She stepped out of her hug with Harry and looked up at him.

"Bestfriends again?" He said with a grin.

"Bestfriends." Ophelia replied. She had finally gotten her bestfriend back.

Harry Potter had just seen the tiniest crack of what Ophelia Granger was feeling and he knew there was more. He was ready to help her; he was ready to help his bestfriend.

Hey! This is a really short chapter and I apologize for that. I'm trying not to rush the story but I also don't want to bore you all. Things may seem rushed for a bit but they're going to get more detailed and interesting in their 4th year.

I hope you all enjoy!
