《Our Eternity : Emmett Cullen x Reader》The Field Trip

We pulled up in the truck and got out, seeing two school buses parked near the entrance to the school. Mr. Molina was shouting to all the students looking for their permission slips. Bella and I both looked to the ground which was where we had the accident. Glass was still strewn about, tires marks on the ground. Bella was almost enchanted by the sight. She had told me what Edward told her. He was pretty cross with her, while Emmett, wasn't very forth coming with information either but at least he was nice about it. Both of us were determined to find out what was up with them.
"Look at you guys, huh?" Mike popped up suddenly in front of us. I peered around him able to see Emmett standing aways away from us, but he was smirking. Edward stood a bit further away and also appeared to be listening, some how. "You're alive." Mike said in a funny accent raising his hands like he was raising us from our graves.
"I know, yeah. False alarm, I guess." Bella told him.
"Uhm, yeah. So, Bella. I wanted to ask you, ya know, if you. I know it's like a month away, but like..." He chuckled nervously as he stuttered. "Do you want to go to prom with me?"
I looked at Bella to see her staring at Edward, clearly not paying attention to Mike. I elbowed her.
"Ow." She glared at me. I gestured my head back to Mike. "What?" She asked softly.
"Do you want to go?" He looked at her confused as to why she didn't hear him the first time. "To Prom... with me?" Mike chuckled nervously.
"Oh! Oh, I... Prom? Dancing? Not such a good idea for me... uh... I actually have something that weekend anyways. I'm going to Jacksonville that weekend." She shrugged giving him a sympathetic look.
"You can't go another weekend?" He asked her sadly.
"Non-refundable ticket." She replied quickly. Mike turned to look at me. Oh no.
"What about you?"
"Wow. As charming as that was for an invitation to Prom. Right after you asked my sister. In front of me. I'm going to have to decline dear Michael. I'll be going with her to Jacksonville, anyways." I scoffed looking at him up and down clearly unimpressed. I could suddenly hear Emmett's booming laughter from across the lot, next to Edward who looked like he was trying to hide a smirk.
"You should ask Jessica!" Bella jumped back into the conversation. "I know she really wants to go with you."
Mike looked back at Jess who was over near the buses, and then back at Bella and I before simply walking away.
"Seriously?" Bella gave me a dirty look.
"What? Did you seriously expect me to say yes?" I scoffed and furrowed my eyebrows at her.
"Well, no. But he's your friend, you could have let him down a little nicer." She scoffed back.
"Are you kidding? Bells... I don't even have the energy to argue with you." I put up my hand and walked across the lot towards the buses.

"Hey, why don't you come sit with us?" Alice popped up from out of nowhere.
"Jesus, Alice." I put my hand over my chest. "You nearly gave me a heart attack."
She giggled her little bell like sound. Alice pulled on my sleeve and dragged me to her bus and towards the back. Pushing me into the window seat and she sat at the edge.
"Hey, how come I don't get to sit next to (Y/n)?" Emmett leaned forward and asked, putting his head between us. Giving a little pout. Alice pushed his head back.
"Because you have all of eternity to sit with her. She's my best friend. I get her for today." She looped her arm with mine.
Emmett grumbled in his seat behind ours. I swear I could of hear him say "How am I suppose to earn an eternity with her if you hog her?"
"So, (Y/n)." Alice starts off bringing my attention back to her. "Tell me about you." She angled herself towards me.
"Uh, okay... Well what do you want to know?" I asked.
"Whatever you think I don't already know." She shrugged. That made me laugh.
"It seems everyone here knows a great deal more about me then I would have thought, so I'm not entirely sure there's much I could tell you."
"Just give it a go." She laughed lightly and playfully pushed me.
"Well, uh. I moved here from Phoenix, Arizona. I used to live with my Mom and her new husband Phil. He's a minor league baseball player. I have a twin sister, who you're all aware of. Her name's Bella. Uhm, I don't even know. My birthday is September 13th, my favorite color is (Y/f/c). I love the rain. I was born here in Forks to my Mom and Dad. My father, Charlie, is the Chief of Police. I've been visiting here every summer since my parents spilt. And, uh, my sister and I are very close." I said awkwardly.
"Hmm, all very wonderful information. I'm really glad you're finally here." She squealed and hugged me before quickly pulling away. "Wow you do smell really good."
"Alice." Edward hissed from the other set of seats across from us.
"What she does? She smells like oranges and vanilla." She looked back at me sweetly.
"Okay, so now you know some stuff about me. How about you tell me about you." I suggest.
"You've officially crossed a line, (Y/n)." Emmett laughed from behind us. I peeked over and grinned at him. I stuck my tongue out and then looked back at Alice.
"Oh, where to begin." She tapped her finger on her chin.
The rest of the bus ride is mainly Alice bombarding me with info about herself and their family. Like, Carlisle and Esme are their adoptive parents, there's 8 of them that live at home, and above all she's a very fashionable person. She was enchanting to listen too and we got along really well. Edward tried to keep his distance, but it seemed as though he couldn't help but join in on our conversations, along with Emmett and Jasper. It was like a strange pull for them all and me too.

When the bus stopped we all got off and Emmett squeezed his way in between Alice and I.
"Alice, I haven't even gotten together with her yet, and you're already stealing her away." He chuckled, making both of us laugh.
"Alright, you can have her as a partner for the trip as long as I get to sit with her again on the way back." She grinned at him. He grumbled a bit but eventually agreed.
We walked forward through the green house. Mostly towards the back, so it wasn't exactly easy to hear what was happening in front of us. That's okay, though. It gives us more alone time to talk and get to know each other better.
"So, I'm glad you guys made plans for me. You know, about where I'll be sitting." I said sarcastically with a smile.
"Sorry about that. Apparently you've got my sister wrapped right around your little finger." He chuckled. I rolled my eyes and laughed. "So, uh, (Y/n). Are you really going to Jacksonville?" He asked suddenly.
"How did you know about that?" I looked up at him curiously.
"You answered all of Alice's questions. Can't you answer at least one of mine?" Emmett smiled down at me.
"I told her things and she told me things. That's how communication works, mister. Plus, you don't answer any of my questions." He gave me big pleading eyes. "Fine. I'll tell you as long as you tell me how you knew about it."
"Deal." He said and we shook hands.
"My mother is moving to Jacksonville. Though, Bella only used it as an excuse to get out of going to Prom with Mike. So technically, there's nothing in Jacksonville, yet. Your turn." I smiled widely ready for an answer.
"I overheard your conversation." He said simply and shrugged.
"What?" I scoffed. "What kind of answer is that? You, once again were no where near me in order to hear what we said."
"Really? Cause I think I was close enough to hear you turn Mike down savagely after he had just asked your sister to prom." He laughed loudly causing some of the other students in front of us to turn back and look.
"Okay, okay. Keep it down. Geez. You must have like super hearing then, because like I said. You weren't even all that close to me." I said quietly irritated.
"Something like that, Princess." He chuckled. Fireworks exploded at the new nickname he gave me.
We walked further through the green house and out the front door's.
"(Y/n), (Y/n), look. It's a worm." Eric laughed dangling the worm in my face.
I scrunched up my nose in disgust and tried to walk around him. Emmett grabbed the stick from Eric's hand and snapped it in half, before pushing the pieces aggressively into his arms. He smirked at him and put an arm around my shoulder as we walked away.
"Thanks for that." I smiled.
"No problem, Princess."
A little ways in front of us, I could see Edward walking quickly towards my sister. I jogged up behind them with Emmett right behind me.
"Bella, we shouldn't be friends." I heard him say to her.
"You really should have figured that out a little earlier. I mean, why didn't you just let the van crush me and save yourself all this regret?" She asked him angrily.
"Oh, boy." I mumbled.
"What, you think I regret saving you?" He asked her incredulously.
"I can see that you do. I just... I don't know why." She shook her head at him.
"You don't know anything."
"Hey. What's going on?" I asked them as we approached.
"Nothing." They both answer.
"Oh, Hi. Are you going to be riding with us?" Alice came up from behind and looked at Bella with a smile.
"No, our bus is full." Edward states quickly and left to get onto the bus.
"Uhm, okay..." I mumbled. I felt Emmett stand right behind me, his chest meeting my back. I couldn't help but lean into him. Gosh, I'm so comfortable around him.
"Maybe you should ride with your sister. She probably needs you after that." He whispered quietly into my ear. "And don't worry, I'll talk to him." He gently moved some of my hair behind my ear. Sending fireworks exploding through my skin at the contact and in my belly.
"Okay." I whispered back. "Come on, Bella." I walked away from them with Bella at my side and I gave Emmett, Alice and Jasper a sad smile. They returned it with understanding one's.
I sat with her on the ride back, which was quiet and our ride home was even quieter. When we got back home we came to find our father sitting in the kitchen.
"Your Mom called... again." He said without looking up from his paper in an annoyed tone.
"Well, that's your fault. You shouldn't have told her about the almost accident." Bella scolded him.
"You finished?" I ask him picking up a dirty plate from the table.
"Yeah." He answered me. I carried it over to the sink. "I suppose you're right. She did always know how to worry. She seems different. She seems... happy." He says sounding a little disappointed. Neither of us really wanted to answer him. "Phil sounds like an all right guy."
"Yeah, he is." Bella answered, before awkwardly walking off.
"Hi, Dad." I say awkwardly trying to clear the tension from the room. He chuckled.
"Hi, (Y/n/n). School good?"
"Yeah, pretty good. Field trip today was... interesting. Learned loads about plants and stuff." I shrugged while continuing on with the dishes.
"Sounds like a good time. Everything going okay?" I knew he was concerned about Bella.
"Everything's going fine, Dad. Just an adjustment for her that's all." He smiled and got up from his chair placing a kiss to my temple before going out into the living room.
