"You ready baby?",Santiago said fixing his tie.

"Yeah Im just trying to fix my eyeliner. Gosh I hate this",I said redoing it.

"I was talkin about your spiritual decision babe",he said standing against his bathroom door. Since his parents left earlier for church, Santiago thought it was a good idea for us to get ready at his place.

"Oh yeah. Kinda nervous though."

"You sure this is what you want to do?",he said looking at my reflection in the mirror.

"Yeah. I'll give him a try."

"Okay",he said kissing me on the cheek and left to go start the car. After I was finally done getting my makeup together, I kinda just stared at the mirror for a moment and I was so ready to be repaired and happy. I longed for peace and happiness. I took my red cardigan off of Santiago's bed and went outside where Santiago was waiting for me.

"You look beautiful",he said smiling at me.

"You have to tell me that every day?"

"Until you believe it, Yeah",he said locking the door. On the drive to his church, I got butterflies cause this was it. This was my chance to have better for myself.

Once we got to the church, the ushers greeted Santiago and I and led us to the nearby pew close to the alter which I was terrified of. After the hymns and performances, it was time for the sermon.

"How many of you know that God is good?",the preacher said. The crowd said amen out loud including Santiago. I don't know who he was so I really couldn't say anything. He brought us to John 3:16 and talked about God's love and how his love isn't only for the believers, it's for the non-believers as well. Somehow message shifted from God's love to God being able to do anything. To change hearts, the heal those who are broken, to restore families, to heal those who are sick. The audience agreed and it got quiet for a minute. The music was playing in the back ground. Their song was amazing grace and as they played, the preacher said, "I don't know who this is for but God's telling me someone here is broken. I'm not talking about heartbreak from relationships even though that's part of it but I'm talking about broken emotionally, spiritually, mentally. You just a broken soul that just went through so much but I'm here to tell you that God Can fix that too. There ain't nothing he can't do. I'm opening the stage up to anyone here who feels this way. Who is going through this broken phase in their life. You can come forward & our prayer team will pray with you." As soon as he said that, a couple people went up but I didn't because I feel like going up because I wasn't sure if God was talking about me considering a few people went up there.

"I know your having this battle going on in your head right now. Whether you should come forward or not. It's the devil playing in your mind. He doesn't want you to get your deliverance today",he said through the mic.

I still felt like that message wasn't for me. I closed my eyes and did a silent prayer in my head. God, if your talking about me, make him sense it and maybe I'll know it's you that revealed me to him.

"I'm happy that those who listened to the alter call came forward but I can't give the mic yet because the person God needs right now, never came up. I'm gonna do something a little different this morning. I'm gonna ask that everyone in the audience close their eyes. Children and adults alike. You know who you are, you know what you want, you know why you are here. I'd love to make it easy on you and go get you but this is a decision you gotta make. I'm right here, meet me halfway. You been through so much, so much pain, I know you don't deserve it, i know it hurts, but come and surrender it all to Christ this morning."

Tears ran down my face slowly. I touched Santiago's hand to help me. He opened his eyes and wiped my tears before bringing me up front.

"Thank you brother",the preacher said smiling. Santiago stepped to the side and at this moment it was me and the preacher.

"Hallelujah Thank you Jesus",he shouted.

"You know God loves you right?",he told me.

"He's been looking for you for a while. Ever since your father left",once he said that, I was shocked and couldn't contain my tears.

"You know God is good?",he asked me. I shrugged because I didn't know. I've only heard he was.

"What's your name sweetheart?"

"Khia."

"Khia do you know who God is?"

"Not really",i said shyly. The audience looked at me and I was the center of attention.

"Would you like to know who he is?"

"Yes",i said through sniffles.

"Would you like to make him your lord and savior today?"

"Yes."

"Let me tell you Khia, this will be the best decision you've made in your life. Kneel down as we pray with you. Brother Santiago, Pastor Jake, youth president. Please gather forth."

I kneeled down and felt Santiago's hands on my shoulder lifting me up in prayer and everyone else voice combined. I felt God smiling down on me and telling me welcome home. When everyone was done praying, they all helped me back up and hugged me one by one telling me welcome. The preacher was last to hug me and said through the mic, "brother Santiago, It's no secret that this is your girl." Everyone in the audience laughed including Santiago.

"But you are now responsible for her soul. Be an example, be a role model, share with her the agape love, God's love",he said.

"And khia. Your name is no longer Khia. It's now sister Khia, welcome to the family. And let the angles rejoice."
