《Charming Through the Lines》~Chapter 11~

I wake up to sunlight peeking through the curtains, and a weight on my stomach.
Hold up. What's on my stomach?
I lift the covers slowly and see the head of Leo laying on my stomach, his brunette hair is messier than before. His muscular left arm is draped across the top of my thighs, and his right is under the pillow we are sharing.
Last night replays in my head, when he came over, tears threatening to fall from his hazel eyes, how his father had died, how he was in no condition to drive home. Especially because I expected his roommates to be out partying.
"Good morning," I look back down at my stomach to see the mesmerizing hazel-colored eyes looking at me. His face looks more relaxed than it did last night, and I look closer and see faded freckles on the bridge of his nose.
"Uh, hey, good morning," I reply, my cheeks turning a shade of red at the position we're in, "How are you feeling?"
"Better now that you're here," He says through a tired smile. I return the smile and lift my hand to fix his hair a bit.
"I can make you breakfast if you'd like," I offer. He nods his head on my stomach but doesn't move from his position.
"You're really comfy, you know that?" He says tiredly. I let out a quiet laugh, and ruffle his hair.
He still doesn't move his head, or his arm, "Leo, in order for me to make food, you'll need to get off me," I say laughing. He grunts and removes himself from my body. I thank him and roll out of bed and walk toward the kitchen.
I take out a carton of eggs, a pan, and a spatula, preparing to make scrambled eggs. As I'm cooking the eggs, I hear Leo get out of bed. Good job, usually I'm still asleep at...holy shit it's 8:30. Yeah, usually I'm still asleep.
I hear footsteps approach behind me and before I know it, a pair of arms wrap around my abdomen.
"You're very affectionate this morning," I say laughing.
"This is my way of showing my thankfulness for letting me stay the night," His deep, morning voice whispers next to my ear. Butterflies erupt in my stomach once again. I've noticed it only happens around him. Weird.

"Okay big boy, let me finish making our breakfast," He huffs, but nonetheless removes his hands from my body. He's very touchy, but I don't mind. His touch makes me feel...safe. I haven't felt this safe around a man in a while, it's refreshing.
"Do you have any classes?" He asks as I set the freshly made scrambled eggs in front of him. I shake my head.
"Same, I was planning on taking a skate around the rink since it'll be empty," I nod my head while I eat.
"What happened after you left the game?" I question. His expression falls to a sad one.
"As you can see, a little bruise on my cheek," He points to it, "But just a few bruises and a scratch here and there on my body."
"That doesn't sound terrible, but why'd you leave?"
"Well, my head was spinning so I couldn't get up straight and my whole body felt like shit. Not to mention, it was after I had gotten the call that my dad passed, so I shouldn't have stepped on the ice. Matthew said I should've taken the day, but I wanted to keep playing."
"I'm so sorry, do you need any help icing your bruises?" I as, he thinks for a moment, but nods. I grab both our now empty plates and set them in the sink. I open the freezer and grab an ice pack and paper towel. I wrap the ice pack in the paper towel and walk back over.
"Where are you bruised?" I ask, he turns in the chair and lifts his hoodie. Holy smokes. His body looks like it was sculpted by a god. His abdomen is filled with 3 rows of perfectly shaped abs, and the start of his sharp v-line is where it ends, due to the coverage of his shorts.
I visibly gulp, to which he laughs at me, "I know these babies are nice," He says running, his hand down his abs, "But look closely and you'll see the bruises," I roll my eyes and place the towel-covered icepack on his bruise.
He hisses at the sudden feeling of coldness, his body tensing up and his head throwing back. It is quite the sight. If I'm being honest, I kind of like it. As weird as it sounds, he looks hot and I can admit that. His hand touches mine, which causes butterflies in my stomach again, as he goes to take the icepack from me.

"Ice it for about 15 minutes, then I'll think you'll be good," I tell him as I slowly step back. He nods and closes his eyes. A ringing sound breaks my gaze on him, and I grab my phone from the counter and answer.
"Good morning sister," The voice says, telling me immediately that it's Will.
"Hey Will, what's up?" My eyes lock with Leo, and his head tilts.
"I have good news, which might worry you after I say it," He begins, I hum, telling him to continue, "Evelyne and I are engaged."
"Seriously? Oh my god Will that's amazing!" I say excitedly.
"Yeah, but the catch is, the wedding is in 2 weeks," My eyes widen at his words, even if he can't see me.
"You're joking," I say, hoping he really is joking.
"No Aria, I'm not."
"I need to get a dress Will, I need to prepare, I need to pack," I say quickly, "Will, you do realize this is during my Thanksgiving break?" I yell into the phone. At this point, Leo looks the most confused he has ever.
"Yes, I know, but it's what Evie wanted and you know I can't fight her," That's true. Evelyne is one of the most stubborn girls I have ever met, but she's kept Will in line for so long that I'm glad they're together.
I sigh, "Okay, I'll make it work. Just send me the details and I'll be there."
"Thank you shortie," I roll my eyes at the nickname, "Feel free to bring a plus-one."
"Yeah yeah, we'll see," To be honest, I have no idea who I'll take. Bri and Hailee are both out of town to see their families, and Josh is traveling to the Bahamas for vacation with his friends. Apparently, it's a "boy's trip" so he couldn't convince them to let me come. What a shame.
"I'm serious, I haven't seen you talk to a guy in like, 4 years."
"That's because you beat up every boy that looked at me," I deadpan.
"True. But still, I encourage you to bring somebody, a friend or something. I just don't want you to be alone," He says softly.
"We'll see," Leo's expression has changed to an even more confused one, "I have to go, I'll call you tonight."
"Alright, cya," With that, he hangs up.
Well great, now I have only 2 weeks to prepare for this wedding, which is during my Thanksgiving break.
"What was that about?" I turn to Leo.
"My brother is getting married during our Thanksgiving break, and he didn't tell me until now," I reply sighing.
"That's kind of short notice," I nod in agreement.
"He wants me to bring someone, which means, he wants me to bring a guy for him to inspect to see if he's good enough for me," Leo's eyebrows raise.
"I mean, I'm not going anywhere for the break, ma mère moved to Paris after she divorced mon père," He suggests. Did he really just offer to basically meet my family?
Oh my Lanta.
"Leo...I can't ask you to do that," I start, but he quickly cuts me off with a wave of his hand.
"You help me all the time Aria, I'd be happy to go as your plus-one. It's the least I could do," He says calmly. How is he so calm? I'm practically running around the freaking dorm at his offer. If he goes, that means we would share a hotel room. That means we'd be side by side for two days straight. How is that information not affecting him?
"I mean..." My head is spinning, "That would be kind of you, thank you," He does his famous smirk, but I notice the dimples on the side of his cheeks. Holy smokes. Can this guy get any more attractive?
"Do you have anything to do?" He asks.
"I need to go through the pictures I took last night, then I may or may not need help with writing my project. I wanted to use some hockey terminology but I know none," I reply, to which his grin grows even bigger.
"I can help you with that," He offers and I thank him quietly, "Go through the pictures here, and we can go through terminology at my place with Brett and Matt," I nod my head slowly.
Looks like my day is going to be filled with more male testosterone.
