《Sakuras In Ice (A Bleach Fan fiction)》10: See With Your Heart

After that episode in the squad 8 barracks, the group of three continued their adventure around Seiretei.
Right now, Yuki is on Renji's back because of her headache while Rukia is holding Yuki's hand and gently tracing circles on in.
"Ugh. Cats may sober up easily but the after kick is worse." Yuki mumbled and buried her face more on Renji's back while groaning.
"Remind us to never let you drink sake." Renji said as he adjusted Yuki
"Why did you drink that sake in the first place anyway?" Rukia asked
"Katen Kyokotsu and teasing. Sorry for my unappropriate behavior, Master Rukia" Yuki answered with a groan
Rukia understood it and looked at Yuki with sympathy.
"Maybe we should stop for a while until Yuki feels better." Rukia suggested and Renji stopped in his tracks
"Sounds good. We should take her to an airy place. Some fresh air may help her hungover." Renji said and flash stepped to one of the airy places they know
It was one of the steep hills inside Seiretei. It overlooks almost the whole place. The wind there is blowing constantly and the wild flowers growing there adds a soothing effect to anyone visiting there.
Yuki is currently alone there beneath a tree after she asked Rukia and Renji to get her something to eat. She decided to visit Muracho to pass the time. She concentrated again and went inside her zanpakuto's inner world.
She opened her eyes and she found herself in a very familiar and beautiful flower field where she saw her zanpakuto standing in the middle of a tulip patch. Yuki walked towards her and hugged her from the back.
"Hey, Muracho." Yuki muffly replied since her face is burried in Muracho's obi
She heard a giggle and felt hands on top of hers.
"Why hello, Yuki-sama. What brought you out here all of a sudden?" Muracho's double voice said and Yuki heard the teasing tone in it
She went to the front side of Muracho without breaking the hug or lifting her face from the obi.
"You know why." Yuki said
She felt Muracho's tummy vibrate meaning she laughed and felt a hand caressing her hair.

"That was really reckless of you. Next time don't be taunted by what others say. You may end up endagering yourself." Muracho said in a soft manner
Yuki looked up to her and looked into her eyes. She noticed just now, but her eyes are like her wings. She can see small dots of light in them, like stars and she even saw one shooting in a random direction like a shooting star.
"How can you see with your eyes like that, Muracho?" Yuki asked
Muracho blinked and gently separated from Yuki. They sat down on the grass and Yuki laid her head on Muracho's lap.
"My eyes are not like regular mortal eyes, Yuki-sama. My eyes are special that's why they are like this. My eyesight is not limited to what's infront of me, but I can also see everything that surrounds it even if it's already behind me. I am not what other humans call 'blind' just because my eyes are different. In fact, unlike them, I see all." Muracho explained
Yuki stared a little more before asking again.
"What does it feel like to be blind?" She asked
Muracho giggled and placed a hand on Yuki's eyes.
"Someone will answer that question for you."
Was the last thing Yuki heard and she was back to the real world.
She opened her eyes and was surprised to see that she's no longer under the tree but a little ways on the edge of the hill.
"Must have walked over here." Yuki mumbled
"Yes, you did." A voice beside her said
Yuki yipped a little after hearing the voice and turned her head beside her. She saw a dark skinned man with pong brown hair in dreadlocks. He was wearing an orange scarf around his neck and something is covering his eyes.
"Sorry if I startle you." He added
"No it's okay. I'm just usually jumpy when I wake up." Yuki said while holding her tail
"I must be the one who startled you. Suddenly sleep walking next to you." She added
She heard a gruff chuckle and looked at him. She immediately looked at his eyes and she just noticed it. The man sensed her stare and fed her curiosity.

"Yes, I am blind. So that trick of yours won't probably work on me. But my name Kaname Tousen. Captain of Squad 9. It's nice to meet you, Yuki Sakura." Kaname said calmly
"It's nice to meet you too, Captain Kaname. But I aleady know your name before hand. Suzumushi told Muracho then Muracho told me." Yuki replied when a gust of wind blew their way
"My zanpakuto did, huh? When was that?" Kaname asked
"At the meeting. When you all first saw me." Yuki replied
Silence enveloped them until Kaname spoke.
"Tell me, Yuki. How do you describe the view before you?" Kaname asked
"The view?" Yuki asked confused then Kaname nodded
She looked at the scenery below the hill and smiled at what she saw.
"I see a very emotional view. I see shinigamis messing around, I see females chatting about something funny and at a distant, I see someone staring at the sky like it's gonna give him an answer to something. I see bustling life and hope. I see happiness, sadness, excitement, sorrow. Name it, I see it." Yuki paused for a while
"The world is beautiful, but at the same time, judging. I guess you can say I envy you." She added
"Envy me? Why would you envy a blind man?" Kaname asked kinda surprised
"That's it. You're blind. You see with your heart and not with your eyes. You can't judge someone based on what they look like. You can know a person by how they treat you. Unlike us people who has eye sight. We judge based on what we see and toss aside the other important things that really matter. That's why I envy you." Tuki answered and smiled at him
"With your heart, huh?" Kaname mumbled and he felt reatsu coming their way
Yuki felt it too and immediately sprung up to her feet to greet her escorts.
"There you are. We've been looking everywhere for you. You weren't in the tree we left you at." Rukia said sounding worried
Yuki bowed on her knees.
"A thousand pardons, Master Rukia Kuchiki. It is not my intention to upset you. Punish me if you will." Yuki said without lifting her head and moving from her position
Rukia quickly picked her up and carried Yuki in her arms.
"Please don't act like that to me. I'm really not used to it. And I wll not punish you. I'm simply worried." Rukia said and patted her in the head
Yuki looked down on her hands to hide the pink in her cheeks. She just looked up when she felt a hand on her shoulder. It was Renji and a guy with a 69 on his face.
"Hisagi Shuhei." The man said
Yuki smiled and waved at him.
"It's nice to meet you. Are you Captain Kaname's lieutenant?" She asked
"Why yes I am. Did captain tell you that?" Shuhei asked
"No. Kasenshini said you're a hardworking and at the same time lousy guy and lieutenant." Yuki said with a straight face.
Shuhei froze and Renji went into a full blown laugh.
"HAHAHAHAHA!! Even your own zanpakuto thinks you're a loser!" Renji said and laughed some more
Yuki can feel Rukia chuckle and it made her smile, too.
"Hey don't go laughing at me when you're the one who said it." Shuhei said with a mock pout
"I'm not the one who said it. It was Kasenshini. Blame him." Yuki said with a giggle
Yuki saw Kaname walk towards them as they were all laughing. The laughter died down when they sensed the captain's arrival. Shuhei turned around and bowed at him.
"Seems like you're having fun." Kaname said with an almost invisible smile
"Yep. Shuhei onii-chan is pretty easy to tease." Yuki said still in Rukia's arms
She saw Shuhei turn slight red and she faced Kaname again.
"Captain."
"Yes, child?"
"Please be careful who you follow. He may give you whant you want but it wl never make you happy." Yuki said after hearing Muracho's news from Suzumushi
Kaname stiffened a bit but it was gone as soon as it came. To hide his shock, he went towards Yuki and ruffled her hair.
"Don't worry." He said and bid goodbye
Shuhei left with him not after pinching Yuki's cheeks and saying they will meet again. They watched them leave until their silhouette is no longer in sight. They walked again towards the tree where they sat and ate the foods Rukia and Renji bought.

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
