Angel's POV
Aight, it's my first day of school. It's weird saying that. My parents bought me everything, I swear. New clothes, shoes, backpacks, yes more than one, I like options. My dad bought so many school supplies I'm good until senior year. Now I know a lot people know I'm going to NYU and probably gonna be giving me the side eye and stuff but my mother already threatened me, yes threatened. She was like.
"Your going to school to learn so don't get distracted. Don't give in to other people because that's what their trying to do." She said. "Don't get into any trouble either, forget your probation officer, you'll have me to deal with. I'll pull you out that school and I will whoop your ass my damn self, you get me."
I laugh when I recall that conversation but I know she has no problem living up to what she said.
"Angel! Come on!" I heard and I grabbed my backpack and left my room.
I walked into the living room.
"Oh my god, what are you doing here?" I asked.
"It's your first day, I came to see you off." Bey said. "Say cheese."
She flashed her camera in my face. I covered my eyes.
"Jay, get your girl." I said.
"You know she's excited, as I am." He said.
He put a Nets hat on my head.
"Do I look like a billboard to you?" I asked.
"Shut up." He said.
"But for real Bey, you supposed to be in another country." I said.
"I know, I'm leaving later." She said. "But I had to see you go."
"Well you saw me." I said.
"Don't be rude." She said and nudged my head.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah." I said. "Where's Blue-bee?"
"In ma's room asleep, please don't wake her." Bey said.
"Come on, please." I said. "I haven't seen her."
"You can go look at her." She said
"Okay." I said turning.
I was about to walk when she yanked my backpack and pulled me back.
"Angel, I'm not playing." She said.
"You got it Bey, I'm not gonna wake her." I said.
She let me go and I went in my mom's room. Blue was peacefully sleeping. I kissed her cheek and left. I really didn't want to wake her up because I don't have time for Bey this morning. I went in the kitchen and my mom finished breakfast.
"Mommy." I said hugging her.
She kissed my cheek.
"You ready?" She asked.
"Yes." I said.
"Well sit down so you can eat breakfast." She said.
I went in the dinning room and Bey and Shawn were already sitting.
"Oh, see y'all didn't come for me. Y'all just wanted breakfast before you left." I said.
"Angel, shut up." Bey said.
My mom came out with the eggs, bacon and waffles. Yes, my favorite, eggos. I immediately reached for one and got popped.
"Say grace." My mom said.
I said grace and began to eat.
"So when you gonna be back? For good." I asked Bey.
"End of the year." She said.
I nodded and looked at Jay and I know he booked at the top of the year.
"But hey, you can chill with me for a few weeks till school start back up." He said.
"Yeah, I might do that." I said.
"Don't let nobody pick on you." Bey said.
"Am I going to middle school or college?" I asked.

"Ain't no difference." She said. "I don't want to have to come up there."
"Bey, you would start a mob before you even had a chance to get out the car." I said.
"We'll see today." She said.
"No, no, no." I said. "I wanna go by myself. It's not first grade, I'll be fine."
"You don't even want me to go?" My mom asked.
"Mama, no." I said. "Nobody else's parent will be there."
"How about we don't get out of the car?" Jay asked.
"How about you park a block away." I said.
"You know you have a guard right?" Bey said.
"What? No." I said.
"Angel, it's for your safety." My mom said. "But you won't know who it is just know that someone is there if something happens."
"Isn't that what Jesus is for?" I asked.
"Angel-"
"Okay, fine." I said. "I have security."
After we finished breakfast Bey got Blue and we went down to the car. I sighed in relief.
"I'm glad y'all didn't bring the Maybach." I said.
"We thought about it." Jay said as we got in the van.
I shook my head and sat down. I checked my schedule on my phone and I had a ten o'clock math class.
"You got everything?" My mom asked.
"Yes." I said.
"You got cash?" She asked.
"Yes but I'll take more." I said smiling.
She just shook her head. We finally arrived near the campus.
"Have a good day Angel." Jay said.
"I will." I said.
"Stay focused." My mom said as I got out.
When I fully got out Bey was behind and Julius got out and was near.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"I just want to make sure your okay." She said.
I chuckled.
"Bey, I'm good." I said. "I'll call you later to let you know how it went."
"Okay." She said hugging me. "Don't let nobody make you feel less okay? Your past is the past okay?"
"Yes." I said.
"And plus your only sixteen so you extra smart getting in here." She said.
We laughed.
"I'll talk to you later." She said.
"Okay, now goodbye before I'm late." I said.
I walked down the block and looked back. She was still standing there and waved.
"Leave!" I yelled laughing.
Alright, this is it. The first day of the rest of my life.

Author's Rant
Just a disclaimer, this is not and never will be a story. I just, noticed I have a bad habit of wanting to rant in my author's notes, and have decided that, instead of accidentally doubling the length of each chapter with the author's note alone, I will shove those long-ass rants here. It might contain spoilers for my stories, as I usually wind up ranting about different parts I'm writing. So, if you actually enjoy my rants...well, firstly, what is wrong with you? Secondly, welcome! Time to figure out what tags to stick on this. Also, as of the second chapter, I have decided to shove some of my story ideas here. So if you enjoy half-baked, unfinished stories, then I got those too. I think that adds that short story tag?
