Angel's POV

"Bey, can you hear and see me?" I asked.

I was waving my hand obnoxiously.

"Yes." She said. "Stop doing that."

I laughed.

"You miss me?" I asked.

"No." She said.

"That's fine. I done miss your as-

"Angel!" My mom said.

I looked back at her as Bey laughed.

"Sorry." I said.

I actually forgot she was sitting there. I had Bey on a video conference call at Mama's office. I had Mama, Daddy, since he was in town, and Solange here to talk.

"What you call us here for?" Solo asked.

"I have an idea." I said.

"Oh god." Solo groaned.

"No, it's good." I said. "Alright so if I hadn't received my GED I would be in school now and I wouldn't be bored. So I got to thinking, why don't I just go to school."

"Uh, I'm lost." Bey said.

"I wanna go to school." I said.

"The only thing you could do right now is college." My dad said.

"Right you are." I said as I pulled out some letters.

"What's that?" My mom asked.

"These are letters from Columbia, NYU and St. John's." I said.

"What? When did you apply." Bey asked.

"I'm on probation and was punished. I had free time." I said.

"So your serious?" My mom asked.

"Yes." I said. "I can be like Martin Luther King Jr."

"He went to college at 15." Solo said.

"Okay, you know what I mean. Don't rain on my parade and he went to jail too." I said.

"That's not the same thing." My dad said.

"Okay, forget the jail part but can I go?" I asked.

My parents looked at each other.

"I don't know-

"Please, I won't be on campus except for classes. I won't be living in a dorm." I said. "Please, let your smart beautiful daughter go to college."

Okay, now I'm begging.

"Yeah, let her go." Bey said.

"Yeah, let the smart ass go." Solo said.

"Thank you." I said. "Wait."

Was I just insulted?

"Hand me the envelopes." My mom said.

"Yes!" I said and handed them to her.

"Where you wanna go?" Bey asked.

"NYU." I said.

I went to sit by my mom when she opened the letter. We were all looking at her patiently waiting. She opened the NYU one first. She had to take out her glasses to read and was taking a million years. It's either congrats or no.

"Ma!" I yelled.

"Who you yelling at?" She asked looking at me with that eyebrow that makes me feel three.

"I'm just saying you taking a long time." I said.

"Watch your tone." She said and went back to the letter.

I looked at Solange and she was smirking and Bey was shaking her head.

"Well, you got in." She said.

"Yes." I said.

I hugged my mom and dad.

"Don't you want to see the rest?" Solo asked.

"Nope, I wanted to go to NYU." I said.

"Congrats." Bey said.

"Thanks." I said.

"Not to bring this down." Solo said. "But did you have to say if you went to jail?"

"No because I went to a juvenile correctional facility and not regular jail." I said.

"Huh?" Bey said.

I smacked my teeth.

"My P.O wrote a letter so I'm good." I said. "But since it's late admissions we need to pay like tomorrow?"

"Angel, how much is this gonna cost?" My dad asked.

"You got it." I said.

He just looked at me.

"Well you can subtract the fact the I won't be living on campus and it's just classes and such so that puts you in the twenty thousand dollar bracket." I said.

"Twenty Thousand Dollars." My dad said.

"Give or take, it could be less." I said. "But it's an investment in my future. Think about it. I'll be graduating at like twenty or something. I'll have an up on everybody."

"I don't know." My mom said. "Do you even know what you want to major in?"

"I'm gonna be a communication major." I said.

"And what is that?" My mom asked.

"You know, TV, Movies, Radio." I said. "TV Production."

"Are you sure you want to do this? This is a lot of money." My dad said.

"I'm gonna have to do this anyway. Let's just do it now." I said. "Don't you want to come to my graduation?"

My parents looked at each other, like they was having a conversation with their eyes. I looked at Solo and then Bey.

"Hey, pay attention." I said. "Your nails mean more to you then me?"

"Angel, shut up."She said.

My parents finally stood up.

"What's up?" I asked.

"Let's go." My mom said.

"Go where?" I asked.

"To pay for this tuition." She said.

"Yes!" I said. "Alright Bey, have a great show."

"Okay, love y'all." She said.

"Bye." We said and I shut the conference call off.

"Solo, you coming?" I asked.

"Yeah, I'll go." She said.

"Yay!" I said.

We left to go to the admissions office. This is so crazy, I'm going to college. I could Harlem Shake for my life right now. We went to their Bursar's office and my dad was explaining that he was going to pay for this semester but I have to prove to him with my grades to come back for spring semester. I was cool with that, I mean I'm a smart kid I just do dumb shit.

When we left after I made my schedule and what not I looked at my mom.

"Mommy." I said.

"Oh god, what do you want?" She asked.

"I'm saying, new school means new clothes." I said.

"Says who?" She said.

"Please." I said.

My mom looked at me and then Solo.

"You wanna go with us?" She asked.

"Yep, I have a free day." Solo said.

"Yay!" I said hugging her.

"Oh my god, get off me." She said.

I let go and went to hug my dad. He had a plane to catch. Now we're off to shop.

Beyoncé's POV

I had just finished my show and I was on my laptop after I got out the shower. Blue was asleep on the couch. I heard the door open and Ty walked in.

"Hey." I said.

"Hey." He said. "When were you going to tell me Angel was going to NYU?"

"I just found out this today. How do you know?" I asked.

He showed me his phone and it was one of those websites. It said Is NYU ready for troubled teen Angel Knowles?

"She's not a troubled teen." I said.

I gave him his phone back.

"How did she get in?" He asked.

"She took her GED and SAT's while she was in that facility and she did really well. We asked her if she wanted to go to school when she first got out and she said no but I guest she's getting restless." I said.

"What you think about it?" He asked.

"It don't matter what I think about it." I said. "This is what she wants to do and I support her."

"But this is a different ball game. This is college, everyone is eighteen and older." He said.

"She was in Juvie, she'll be fine, I'm sure." I said.

Solange's POV

"Oh my god! Don't you have real food?" I heard Angel yell.

"Get out my kitchen!" I yelled as I sat on the couch.

I don't know why she didn't go with mama. No, she had to come over her and bother me until dinner.

She came out the kitchen munching on something.

"Why you eating Jeulz Cheetos?" I asked as she sat next to me.

"He'll be alright, plus you got like glutton free granola bars." She said. "Ain't nobody eating that."

I just shook my head.

"When he come back anyway?" I asked.

"Tomorrow." I said.

"You think I'm gonna do good in school?" She asked.

"I actually think you will but this ain't like high school." She said.

"Sad to say I only went a semester." She said.

"Okay, well just pay attention, do what you gotta do and pass. You know you can't be getting no D's." I said.

"I already know." I said. "Do you think I'm good at making friends?"

I just looked at her.

"Okay, scratch that." She said and we laughed. "But seriously I have one friend and it's Leon."

"I thought we were friends." I said.

She smacked her teeth.

"I mean the same age as me." She said. "Like all my friends can't be over the age of twenty five."

"I get what you saying but you gotta be careful. You don't wanna have those friends that only want you for your last name." I said.

She nodded and my phone went off.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hey Solo, is Angel with you?" I heard Kelly ask.

"Yeah." I said.

"Is she going to NYU?" She asked.

"Yeah, how you know? You talk to Bey?" I asked.

"No, someone sent it to me. It was on a blog." She said.

"Already." I said shaking my head.

I tapped Angel on the shoulder.

"Everyone knows your going to NYU now." I said.

"What? How?" She said.

"Blogs." I said.

"Man, I can't do nothing." She said.

"No, you can't." I said.

I finished talking to Kelly then got off the phone.

"How did you pick your major?" I asked.

"Well I talked to Jay and he reminded me of those videos I used to do for y'all and how I would edit them and stuff and he suggested that I learn more about camera's and editing and stuff so communications it was." She said.

"That sound like a good idea." I said.

She nodded.

We watched TV until it was time for us to go to dinner. It's kind of weird. My sixteen year old sister a freshman in college. But she beat the odds, no one suspect her to go to college and now she's gonna prove everyone one wrong.
