《My Sister's Best Friend [Completed]》*BONUS CHAPTER*

A few days late but happy Valentine's Day from Westlyn and Finn!!
Thank you guys so much for the continued support on this story, it means so much to me <3
I still think about what Finn said in his vows, "if someone told me my life would turn out like this I would have laughed..." It becomes more and more true every day.
If someone told me that Maddy would one day become my sister-in-law and eventually turn into the friend I've needed my whole life, I would have laughed.
If someone told me that I'd be a step-mom at 22-years-old I would have fainted.
If someone told me I could have it this good I wouldn't believe it. I still have trouble believing it.
We've been married for a year and a half now. It hasn't been easy. I finally finished my degree and now we are thousands in debt, Peyton is learning and testing her limits at 6-years-old. We are still learning how to parent together and live together.
We are still figuring out how to fit Laney into our lives and helping Maddy as she continues her journey.
But when I see Finn's blue eyes and wide smile when I walk in the door I know it's worth it. When I hear Peyton run from the living room and right into my arms I know it's worth it.
"You have everything ready?" Maddy asks me from the kitchen stove. She is preparing dinner for herself and Peyton.
"Yes, I think so," I say going through a checklist in my head.
"Peyton and I are going to have the best valentine's day ever. Right, kid?" She asks Peyton.
"Yeah, we're gonna watch a movie and eat the chocolate hearts."
"All of them?" I ask. Peyton and Maddy accumulated a ton of chocolate from her classmates and Maddy's new boyfriend.

They look at each other, blue eyes to blue eyes and smile, "yup."
Maddy laughs, "I'll try to have her in bed before you two get home."
"We aren't coming home until tomorrow," I say.
"Oh shit, then I guess I can't watch her."
"Watch your mouth and I hate you," I say rolling my eyes.
Peyton has already been in trouble multiple times at school for cursing.
Maddy smirks and goes to say something but stops when the front door opens.
"Hey," Finn says kissing me and kissing Peyton on the head.
"Hey Maddy. What're you doing here?" Finn asks opening a box of chocolate.
"Those are ours, Dad!"
He looks at Peyton with an amused expression, "whose?"
"Maddy and me. She is babysitting even though I'm not a baby," Peyton rolls her eyes and I wonder if we should stop leaving her with Maddy so often.
"Where are we going?" Finn asks.
"Away for the night," I say with a wink, "we're already packed. Lets go."
We say our goodbyes and head out.
We're eating dinner in the fancy restaurant in the hotel Westlyn booked for us. I still wonder how we got here and how we figured out how to move on from our pasts.
We finish and head to our room.
West gets quiet suddenly and looks up at me with her pretty eyes.
"You okay?" I ask linking our fingers together.
"I have two things to tell you," she says with a sigh. We are laying on our sides facing each other on the large bed.
"Good or bad?" I ask.
"Both," she shrugs.
"Okay," I say nervously. Westlyn and I have dealt with so many things that I'm not sure if she can spring anything on me that we can't handle.

But the way she is looking everywhere but at me has me concerned.
"I went to the doctor the other day," she starts, "I was telling them about my family history of breast cancer and so they wanted to do a mammogram. Normally, women don't get those until they're older."
"Westlyn, are you okay?" I ask saying a silent prayer to anyone that will listen.
"Yes, everything looks okay but since the family history isn't good and I guess they saw something that could potentially develop into something." Westlyn's eyes are glassy and I squeeze her hand gently. I want her to know I'm here, I will be here with her forever.
"So the doctor said I can have a double mastectomy for preventative purposes. I looked up more information and I will still get a second opinion but I'll do it if it means being here for way longer than my mom was."
"Of course. Whatever you think is right I'm here," I say.
She smiles, "I won't have the surgery for a while though," she says.
"Because you want another opinion?" I ask.
She shakes her head her eyes lighting up, "because we're having a baby."
"Really?" I ask sitting up. She sits up too and wraps her arms around my neck.
She nods, "I didn't know. I went to the doctor and they told me."
"I'm so happy, Westlyn," I say kissing her. We are both smiling and kissing and then she pushes me away.
"Wait, are you ready for the best part?" She asks.
"How can it get better?" I laugh.
"So I wanted to make sure everything with the baby was okay. I went to the doctor a few days ago and I'm already far enough along to find out the gender. I told her write it down and seal it since you weren't there.
"Here," she says handing me a cupcake and picking up one for herself from the pink box on the bed side table.
"On the count of three we'll take a bite, okay?" She says and I nod.
"One, two, three."
We bite into the gooey frosting and see blue cake inside.
"We're having a boy!" I say kissing her. She kisses me back as tears run down her face.
"Happy Valentine's day, babe," I say before kissing her again.
"I can't wait to tell Peyton!" I laugh.
"She is going to be so happy," I say.
"Probably not that we're having a boy," Westlyn says.
I can already picture teaching him to play baseball and to ride a bike. My heart feels heavy but excited knowing that he will have a different start than Peyton.
