《Peridot x Human!Reader》Chapter 10 - Popcorn and Kisses

I apologize how late in the day this was updated. I have had a very stress filled week, so please excuse the tardiness! I usually don't like to put these things in my stories, but i'll make an exception for this.
Hopefully the ending with help ease the frustration and make you guys squeal with joy! *eyebrow waggle*
This is where the story starts to get fluffy romance, so if you just want to be friends with Peridot, back out now!
Later in the day, you had made a big bowl of buttery popcorn, grabbed a bunch of blankets and popped in the movie you had choose. Once you had the movie started and the menu screen was up, you called Peridot into the living room.
"Peridot! i have the movie ready! Come in here." You spoke as you got the popcorn set on the coffee table and had one of the many blankets wrapped around you. Peridot then walked into the room calmly, and sat onto the couch next to you.
She looked at you with an odd look in her eyes, but then spoke up. "Can we watch the movie I had chosen next?" She spoke softly. She seemed to still have something on her mind, but you left it alone and calmly answered her.
She smiled towards her as you tossed a soft blanket over her head and shoulders. "Yeah, sure Peri." You then scooted closer to her, and made yourself comfortable in your spot. Peridot nodded to your answer and tried to copy you a little, scooting down in her seat as well.
The movie was hilarious, as you laughed throughout almost the entire thing. Peridot shared some laughs too, and at one point, was laughing louder and harder than you were.
Once your movie was over, you both giggled and shared some of your favorite moments from the movie, quoting funny parts back and forth as you microwaved more popcorn and poured more soda into a cup for the both of you.

Somewhere during that time, Peridot then became quiet. you turned to see what was wrong with her and then found she was no longer on the couch. You then put the popcorn and drinks to the side and went to your room, expecting to probably find her in her corner behind her make-shift curtains.
As you thought, you were right. you called out before pulling the curtain aside. "Peri? You okay?"
"Y-yes. I'm fine. I was just... grabbing my movie." She stated as she pulled the DVD out from under a puffy pillow. You nodded and smiled at her before you turned to go back to the living room. She followed behind you steadily and handed you the disk to put into the machinery next to the television.
You both sat down once again and made yourself comfortable. Peridot seemed a little more on edge, but leaned back with you as well.
"So, what's this one supposed to be about?" You asked as the start of the advertisements rolled before the menu screen showed up. You looked at Peridot from the corner of your eyes.
"It stated on the exterior that it was about..'Romance'? Not exactly sure what that is but it seemed interesting." She fidgeted as she kept her eyes on the screen, only momentarily looking at you to show you she was giving you some attention.
You stifled a laugh at this, but kept quiet. You then leaned into her, relaxing more. Peridot originally tensed up, but then relaxed once again. Once the movie's menu screen as popped up, you pressed the 'play' button.
The movie was as you predicted. Kind of sappy, full of drama, and had kissing scenes thrown in throughout the movie. Every time a kissing scene had shown up, Peridot seemed to tense up, but seemed interested all in all.

Around the third kiss in the movie, she spoke up. "You stated previously that this... 'kissing'... is a special thing between two humans, correct?" She asked. She turned her attention completely to you, full of curiosity.
The only light that shown from the television glowed on one side of your face in the dark room. You looked up at her from your tilted position and then nodded, then speaking up and saying "Yeah. Usually people do it when they really like and feel strong emotions for the other person."
"What about us?" She bluntly put. The dark room covered her extremely bright green blush, but you could still tell she was tense.
You also seemed to tense up, and Peridot noticed this. "W-what?" You stuttered. You were kind of surprised by this, but not in a bad way.
"I have found to feel..these emotions, as you have said.. and these emotions are not negative, but positive. Isn't that how this situation works?" She tried to stay collected, but was obviously shaking in nervousness.
You yourself were finding yourself shaking with anticipation as well. "W-well that is what I had said.." You hesitated for a moment. You thought maybe you knew where she was going with this, but you didn't want to jump to conclusions and assume, and possibly scare her.
"So, what about us? Can...can we do this 'kissing' as they have done on the movie?" Her breathing was heavy and trembling, and yours matched hers quite closely. You sat up slightly, looking at her in the dim room. The movie had been completely ignored at this point, and aside from the volume coming from the television, it was quiet.
You tried to say 'Yes' but your lips only moved as no noise came out. You then tried to nod as you found your voice wasn't going to work. What was this feeling? How did this all happen so fast. You knew over time these feelings were conjuring inside of you over the past few weeks, but you never expressed them as you found them silly. knowing now that Peridot was also interested sparked something in you.
Peridot them moved towards you, her eyes dodging in a different direction for a split second, then looked back at you quickly. She then collided her face into yours. It was slightly comical, as she didn't really know what to do, but she was trying, so you gave her that. You then smiled into the kiss as your lips had met hers.
The kiss seemed forever, but only lasted a split second as Peridot then moved back in shock. She didn't say anything, but simply make her lips make contact with yours once more.
If you weren't as nervous as you were, you would have had to stifle a small laugh as to how funny she was acting. You reminded yourself that she had never done this or ever knew what this act was until this moment, so it was new to her. 'She was testing the water.' You said to yourself. You stayed calm throughout, though.
When she had moved back again, she seemed scared. "I-I'm sorry." She said. She looked fearful, maybe scared that she upset you.
You then smiled at her sweetly and hugged her tightly. "No, don't be. I like it." She hesitated first, but them hugged you back, gripping the fabric of your shirt.
What was this meaning for the future?

(Un)Paralleled
Based on the novel by MGHT, Unparalleled. Things are not as they were. In this alternate story, follow our Hero(?) as he traverses the world. But, is this world really the one we know? I will be using MGHT's original story as a guideline, and applying my own touch to it. Due to there being a lack of information on the wider scope of things, I'll be throwing in things that may not adhere to the original author's plans. Then again, what fun is there in reading something that has already been done? Tags and genres stated are subject to change without notice, be it the addition or removal of tags. Cover art is a fanart I found online a long time ago. Character is Gyuki from Nurarihyon No Mago.

Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.
