《Beauty And The Beast (bxb)》Chapter 12

😊
Warm tears of sorrow rolled down my face.
I smiled. It was filled with bitter humor.
We both were... Broken.
He and I, we both were hollowed forms, living, waiting for someone to fill us with their love.
To feel completed again.
"That's enough Potts. Leave us."
I turned to see him standing in the doorway wearing pajamas and a hat that sat nestling dangerously between his horns.
It was too cute.
So cute that it brought me out of my depression and a small puff of laughter escaped my mouth.
He furrowed his eyebrows, pouting adorably.
"What are you laughing at?" He demanded.
I couldn't control anymore. I ended up laughing.
He turned and started fumbling around the kitchen.
Hmm, if the utensils too were alive, then how did they not get burnt?
Talking about that, how were they even alive?
"Adam?"
"Hmm?" He hummed without turning back.
"Why are all the things alive at this place?"
"A part of the curse."
I was still curious.
'Curiosity killed the cat.'
Yes.
But many forget about the other part.
'Satisfaction brought it back.'
I decided to take the risk and be a curious cat. Even if I had to face his wrath.
"Why are they alive? I mean, who are they?
I observed his large black fured shoulders, admiring the play of muscles under them.
He turned with a large glass in his hand.
"Why do you want to know?"
I smiled.
"Curious."
He sighed, in defeat I hoped.
"Fine. They were my most loyal people. People without whom I couldn't function. Like my Butler, my cook, the people who trusted and loved me."
"What about your parents?" I asked cringing when I saw the darkness in his eyes.

"I don't know." He shrugged putting down the glass in front of me.
I peeped into it. Milk. Ugh!
"Drink." He said smiling at my reaction.
I wrinkled my nose.
"Don't wanna." I said with a pout.
"Drink." He repeated.
I gave him the best puppy eyes of could manage.
"Now." And I knew I couldn't get out of it anymore.
I gulped down the vile liquid wincing at the after taste and stood up rumbling around the kitchen trying to find something that would get rid of the after taste.
I piece of candy hovered in front of me and I immediately snatched it out of the air sighing in relif as the nasty taste disappeared.
"Come on."
I turned and saw that he stood at the door as he waved me to follow him.
Like the lost puppy I was without him, I obediently followed.
Up the stairs we went with me running ahead of him trying to avoid the chandelier and the irrational fear I had of it falling on me.
As I stood up the stairs waiting for him, it struck me.
I was happy. For the first time in my life, I was truly happy.
Waving of claw tipped hands brought me out of my thoughts and I looked at him.
"Are you OK?" He asked me worried.
I nodded, smiling at him, as I looked in his eyes and I realized that they were indeed blue. This was the first time I had truly seen his eyes.
Sapphire with a midnight blue ring around them, they pulled me in, wrapping me in comfort.
"So pretty." I whispered.
"What?"
"Your eyes."
He was taken aback. I could see that. But then he smiled.
And it was a smile that I would never forget. It didn't matter that it was on the face of a beast because it was what it was. True happiness.

And it was directed to me.
My heart speed up and I blushed.
"It's late. We should sleep."
I nodded looking down suddenly shy.
We stopped in front of his bedroom.
"I-"
"You-"
We both started at the same time.
"You tell." He said smiling at me to get over the awkwardness.
"I should probably sleep in the other room." I said twisting my hands nervous looking at them.
"Yeah." He said as he guided me to the room next to his.
I opened the door and went in. I turned to close the door and saw him turning to walk back.
"Umm.." I looked at him as he turned.
"Thank you. Good night."
He nodded and I closed the door.
Skipping to the bed I collapsed on it with a goofy smile staring at the ceiling and closed my eyes waiting for sleep to come.
An hour passed.
I was still awake.
I missed the soft mountain of fur. One night of sleeping next to him had ruined all my nights of suppose. Now to craved the softness and the safety they possed.
Thunder light up the room.
I smiled. I had found the perfect reason to sneak to his room.
I took the pillow and closed the door softly behind me and padded to his room.
Knocking the door I slowly pushed it in and entered.
The huge figure on the bed sat up highlighted by the thunder outside the window.
"What is it? Are you not able to get sleep?"
Walking to him in slowly nodded.
"Thunder." I gave as a explanation and I waited.
"Oh. So, do you want to sleep here?" He asked with a worried frown.
Hehe. So cute.
I nodded once again.
He patted the bed next to him and I got on quickly. Maybe a tad bit eagerly.
Wrapping the blanket around myself I slipped next to him admiring his back.
No, I wasn't obsessed.
No.
A tiny bit?
I placed my hands under the pillows getting comfortable when my hands touched something cold. I withdrew my hands but as usual, my darling of a curiosity had me pulling the cold metal object out.
I gasped at the beauty that laid in the hands, dimly glowing in the darkness. It was a mirror, half the size of my arm, intricately carved with beautiful roses. At some point Adam had turned over and I looked up to see him gazing at the mirror in silent sorrow.
"It was my mother's." He quietly said.
"She used to love it. It was her treasure. My father had gifted it to her when they had met for the very first time..."
My heart felt heavy at the sadness that was etched on his face. Not wanting to hurt him anymore, I quickly returned the mirror back to him and waited for him to turn back.
A few seconds passed and I realised that he was fast asleep while I was left wide awake as the day's events rolled by me.
Suddenly the mammoth of fur turned over and I was smothered in warm fur as he put an arm around me.
I smiled. Snuggling deeper in his embrace I gave a happy sigh.
Content.
And then I was out like a light.
