《Beauty And The Beast (bxb)》Chapter 13

Hmm.. fur. I am never letting go of it.

Fur?

And, it suddenly dawned to me what had happened yesterday.

I sat up like lightning had struck me. How could I have acted like that?

Was I drunk?

How could I have sneeked into his bed like a child?

I groaned and slapped my head in utter embarrassement.

"Good morning." An amused voice sounded behind me.

Yelping I jumped out of the bed like it had caught fire.

"You are awake." I said lamely looking at the floor.

"Yes."

Oh, I could hear the snickering behind it.

"Bathroom." I mumbled and ran to it locking the door shut behind me as I collapsed on the floor, my face red as a tomato.

I could hear his rumbling laughter as he got up and messed around in the room.

A knock on the door startled me.

"I am going down to have breakfast. Will you be fine?"

"Yes." I squeaked out. Clearing my throat in embarrassment, I deepening my voice and tried again.

"Yes."

Oh gods. I wanted to die.

I placed my ears on the door waiting as his foot steps faded away.

Silence.

At once I jumped up opening the door and ran to my room and burried myself under the covers.

Beau, tonight you sleep here. No matter how addicting his fur is.

Ugh!

Getting up, I dragged myself to the washroom to do actual work than hidding myself all the while thinking of his mirror.

Done with all the morning rituals I opened the wardrobe to find that it was stuffed with cloths far to rich for me to wear and few that I had no idea where it went on my body.

Lost, I took something random of the hooks and dressed up standing in front of the dresser.

I looked ok?

"Oh dear, that's no good!"

The dresser started shaking.

More talking furnitures.

Great.

Honestly, my first instinct was to run, but where would I run to while the entire house was full of alive things.

I tilted my head in question to her statement.

Not good? What was not good?

"Your outfit my dear. You have no idea about fashion do you?"

Fashion? Me? Ha! On normal days back in that wretched place, I would have been happy to find a shirt that didn't have holes in it.

"Come come. Sit and close your eyes."She said patting on the chair in front of her.

Sitting down I did as she instructed.

I could feel the flurry of cloth around me as I sat like a mannequin.

"Done!"

I opened my eyes to see someone who wasn't me in the mirror.

Wearing a high collar white palid shirt with my hair neatly brushed to the side, I looked like a high born. Not like a disowned brat that I was.

It wasn't much that she had done. But it was enough to make a statement.

"Thank you." I said to the dresser with a grateful smile.

"Your welcome dear. Now what is your name?"

"Beau."

"Ah! What a wonderful name for a wonderful person." She said with a sigh.

"Now go. My dreams await me."

She said as she slowly sank back to how she was before going completely still.

I gave her a gentle smile and walked out the room.

Perhaps the people in here were much better than those out.

I sighed as I realised that I had forgotten to ask her name.

That would have to wait as my stomach gave a loud rumble of disapproval as hunger stabbed me.

Running down the stairs not once looking up at the chandelier, I skipped to the dinning hall in childish delight.

I stopped and stared in awe at the huge spectacle that layed before me.

The cutlery was all brought out with shining golden trimmed plates and napkins folded in exortic shapes.

The food spread was small due to the fact that only two of us were eating, but each dish was it's own culinary experience.

Sitting down, I could feel drool escaping my mouth.

"Eat up." He said and I turned to see him select a spoon, delicately holding it in his grip as he ate.

"Do you use a different spoon for different kinds of food?" I asked his as I saw him placing it down before selecting another.

"Habits. They die hard." Was his only response.

"Would you teach me?" I asked looking at him in fascination as he selected another spoon.

He gave a shrug and quickly pointed to the various cutlery and name what each one was and for what they were used.

I tried remembering all of them but failed miserably.

Looking at my expression he gave a quiet chuckle and said.

"It's fine Beau, just use any spoon."

Breakfast went in silence.

He had already finished his food and was staring at me as I ate.

"What?" I asked taking a napkin to wiped my face thinking that there was something on it.

"Nothing. Would you like to do something after this? Or go somewhere?"

Do something? Go somewhere? Looking at the storm that still raged on out I had no desire to go out there.

"No." I looked at him.

"Would you like to join me?"

I nodded as I finish the food and stood up to follow him.

Going up the stairs, we headed to the east side of the mansion.

Soon, like always, I was hopelessly lost in the maze of corridors.

We stopped in front of another pair of huge doors.

He pushed them open and I walked in to see books.

Walls and walls full of books, towering bookshelves with randomly placed chairs and tables.

"Wow." I whispered.

"Would you like to read something?" He asked turning to me.

I looked at the floor suddenly feeling ashamed.

"I don't know how to read." I whispered silently.

He was quiet for a while and then replied.

"It's not too late to learn if you want to."

"Really? Would you really reach me to read?" I asked him with tears in my eyes.

He nodded.

I smiled.

At last I was going to learn to read and write. At last I would be on par with those lousy excuse of sisters that I had. No one was going to ridicule me anymore.

At last.
